Big fishmarket with fresh products. You need to barter. But friendly sellers and impressive smell..The tuna is of high quality, just as the red snapper. Come early to get the most fresh fish. Shrimps, squid, crab and shell.Hygienic standards are not too bad.

Was not on BRT but crossing ferry to Kigamboni. I stayed more than two hours waiting to cross the other side. I just passed there yesterday after a long time, but if I had been on the other side of the road such as port road would have been home within an hour.

Best public transport in Tanzania which is able to accomodate many people since it have a lot of buses and incase you are in hurry of going somewhere there is a service of EXPRESS to Kimara, Gerezani, Mwenge,Ubungo,Mbezi also there is a Bombardier which is one way from Gerezani, Kivukoni to Mbezi directly and it does not stop in any station but up to the destination.

I enjoyed the ride to and from kivukoni...being situated near the STATE HOUSE... its a clean place despite having one of the biggest fish market in east Africa...the place is still trying to maintain it cleanliness....i love that.... its the best place to chill and watch the ocean water move to and from your eyes....

I wish the ferries moved a bit faster but it is understandable because there are a lot of vessels using that area. The place could use some clear and visible signage to help out foreigners and locals not familiar with the protocols of that area. Otherwise it was not a bad experience. Do stop by the Kivukoni fish market for a variety fish and other seafood.

The fare was inexpensive and it was fairly easy to figure out the procedure. However, we were harassed by the security guards for taking pictures. We did not know about the no picture rule and were taking a picture while boarding the ferry. A guard came after us, took us to the post and then threw guards surrounded us asking for 50 thousand Tzs. We refused to pay. They then got their manager to come and speak to us. He wanted us to pay the fine too. We told them we were sorry and not aware of the rule as we dont speak Swahili. He then made us delete the picture in front of him. He also checked my phone to see if Ive other pictures. Terrible experience. I wont be going back.

The terminal is ok to some extent...the downside is buses parking for a long time idle away from the platform...the when the time comes the driver align the bus at the platform. By that tyme..passenger number has increased tremendously...the the scramble to board the bus begin..only the fittest get in first..disgusting to tell the truth
