Lovely people and a fantastic experience. Learned about spices grown in Zanzibar and tasted lots of local fruits as we walked through the farm. Kids 8 and 10 years old had a wonderful time and especially enjoyed tasting fruits, weaved hats, ties, and necklaces along with tree climbing. Highly recommended!!

A great experience! We received a personal tour from Abdillah. Everything was explained clearly. We started with a tour of the several fruits that they grow. Than we when to the spices! Really interesting to see to see where the spices we use everyday actually come from. They also made several objects for us using leaves etc. They are really skilled at it! Also they had someone climb a big palm tree and collected the coconuts for us while we were all cheering and singing. It was so tasty and fresh! At the end you have a chance to buy several spices and parfumes that they make and prepare in the local village. Spice Ali will help you out! Highly recommended to do this tour!

Very nice visit at Village Green Spice farm today. Our guide was very enthousiastic and took us for a tour of over 1h30 (we actually shortened it due to the rain but it would have last longer). It was well explained and very entertaining, for the adults as well as for the children. We highly recommand it. We were also very happy to be able to directly contribute to this village/community.

What a great experience! This is definitely place worth to visit. Great guide, very friendly and funny. I was impressed by performance of climbing palm tree and some acrobatics on it, that we could see during the trip. I had impression that people who work there have a lot of passion and it was very interesting from the beginning till the end.

If you arrive there and seems nobody is there, just whats app or give a quick call, so the guide will come within a minute or so. The tour takes around 2 hrs and it is extremely nice experience, our young guide was full of positive energy and had good knowledge of all the plants there ! At the end we could buy some local spices, great to support such local initiatives :) Strongly recommended!

This was the highlight of our trip in Zanzibar. Ali works at the Village Green spice farm and gave us an amazing tour of all of the crops. The entrance fee only cost 10,000 shillings or five dollars per person. During the tour Ali walked us around the different parts of the farm showing us various spices like pepper cinnamon ginger and fruits such as watermelon avocado oranges Mandarin mango trees and passion fruit. Of course we got to try this delicious produce during the tour. We also learned about a lot of the local spices which they use for medicinal purposes. Afterwards we watched Ali’s colleague climb a coconut tree! He picked coconuts for us to enjoy. Ali is such a kind and welcoming person- his English is really spectacular and he explained everything to us. After the farm tour he invited us to visit his home village Mitakawani village also know as Green Villiage. He helped us purchase some pencils which we gave out to the local children. It was such an incredible and genuine experience and I highly recommend visiting this spice farm. They can even arrange transportation from your hotel at a fair price (that’s what we did). If you want to contact Ali please WhatsApp him +255 779 801 567 to make an appointment for a visit.

The best spice tour you’ll do in Zanzibar, a true authentic tour, in the village! Ali was the best guide, he showed us all the trees and plants and answered all our questions. The highlight of the tour was definitely the cooking class and the meal after it. We had the best curry and okra ever! Also if you’re vegetarian this your is definitely for you. Amazing experience, book it with no hesitation.

Amazing spice and fruit tour! Saka, Shuwary and Aicad were phenomenal and led us through their village farm! It felt like a very unique and authentic experience and not as touristy as other spice farm tours we came across. Learned lots about spices, fruit, met the local farmers, tested jackfruits for ripeness, saw Shuwary climb a 20m high coconut tree, ate lots of fruit incl. a jackfruit eating competition, received handmade palm leave hats, baskets and necklaces and laughed our heads off - all in 2-3 hours! Overall, most likely one of the best experiences of our time on Zanzibar!

Our visit to Village Green Spice Farm was totally worth the drive (and the fee of 5$p.p). It was a wonderful experience to walk through rich green land on soft dark soil. Our kind, humorous and smart guide Abdillah led us to all different kinds of spice and fruit plants which we could touch, smell and also taste. In the end I learned to climb a coconut tree too. Just a few meters but anyway 😂 go there and try it yourself!

Amazing experience with the locals! Our guide Ally was amazing with great mood, he showed us his village, the original place of growth of many spices outside the actual farm and we even met some of the locals. He is great in explaining and showing all the different spices and makes the tour really fun. At the end we got to taste all of the fruits, they showed us how to climb a coconut tree and even made amazing jewels :) I highly recommend it - and I am glad we got to support locals, who take care of the natural heritage!Big plus - they also organize a taxi if you need (even cheaper than the original taxi service on the island) 👍🏻

Our guide Aikad was brilliant and made the tour so much fun. We saw a variety of spice trees, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom etc as well as fruits and herbs. After the tour one of the guys climbed a coconut tree and we were given fresh coconut water to drink and freshly chopped coconut to eat, it was really such a delicious treat. Ali and his friends at the farm represent the most authentic experience we had so far in Zanzibar. They are a group of few young people who have allocated a part of their village farming lands for developing a touristic attraction. And yet this is done in a charming and naive manner which keeps it simple and beautiful. We came with the kids who were quickly trapped by Ali’s riddles. Along the way, Ali cut different types of leaves and asked the us to guess what spice it was by their odors. Some brought quite surprising realization. He also formed all types of games and tools for the kids by cutting branches and leaves he picked from the farm. At the end of the tour, one of the boys climbed up a coconut tree to harvest few delicious coconuts. At the end of the tour we were offered to buy spices from the farm at reasonable prices. In this way Ali and his friend are contributing to their community villagers in the most efficient and charming way. Not pushing for anything and respecting us and their owns.Highly recommended!! Enjoy!

We had a really nice tour at Village Green Spice Farm. To see how spices and fruits are planted, grown and harvested locally has been an astonishing experience and our guide Aikad made us feel welcome. The coconut tree climbing by Shwary looks a bit dangerous and fun at the same time, but the result (fresh coco cola as they say) tastes amazing. For 5$ per person an experience we would definetely recommend! And maybe the creation of a new world hit happened yesterday: No lemon, no lime
