Right at the beach with tables in the sand but also indoor space. The beach is quite busy as boats load and unload people there, that also comes with some engine/fuel smells.Food tasted really good. Took the Beef Stew. Could not complain about speed, order came reasonably fast. The only reason I don’t give more than 4 stars (and most likely will not go there again) is that they only take cash. For a tourist place I find this unacceptable, specially since I could pay with card at all other restaurants in the area.

Perfect place to see the sunset, you can see all the kids playing around, merchants offering their products and ships close to the port. We choose a $20 menu, includes a starter, main dish and dessert. The food was good (little bit gourmet) but very good taste. They took a long time to bring the food, probably 50 minutes they should improve that.

Its OK but not super special. The view from their beach is mostly covered by a big ferry.I know better places to enjoy the evening.

Very nice place to have a drink and listen to music - both life music (Friday to Sunday) and DJ were very good. Apart of being really good, music was also not to loud and annoying as in many places in Zanzibar. Would love to visit this place again. Had a fantastic evening there with a very nice company.

Sweet sweet spot with a good view of that Stonetown ocean and its bustle. A live band was going on just after we left and the snacks we had were well prepared.

Nice place for sunset, many people walking by and trying to sell stuff. Good staff but sadly not the food. Very expensive for what it is. Paid 75’000 shillings for king prawns that ok cooked nothing special and 60’000 shillings for fish that was tasteless and dry. As side dishes we each got half a potato.. so we asked for more and got 3/4 potato.. the building inside is quite nice and must be great for music. But for food just go to a cheaper place with better food.

Terrible service, high price! We ordered red snapper deep fried without spices due to the children and they served us few pieces of fried fish with white rice and nothing else, not even decoration! We wont go there anymore!

This place has a great location and excellent servers however it is not properly staffed to execute a proper service. We arrived at 6:15PM but didn’t actually get our order in till 7:10PM due to the lack of servers given the number of tables. This was especially frustrating (and kind of ironic) because our plan was to come for happy hour (from 5-7PM) and since our order wasn’t rung in till 7:10PM we didn’t receive the deal. In the big picture, the savings between happy hour vs regular prices was pretty minor but it was annoying nonetheless and the entire ordeal left a bad taste in our mouths.This establishment would benefit if they revisited their staffing numbers and looked to add people to ensure they can properly execute a service - my girlfriend is an expat living in Tanzania (who pretty much eats all her meals out) and after this experience she will be giving her business to the other number of options available by the waterfront to enjoy her Zanzibar sunsets.

An old time favorite and still is one of my favorite bars in Zanzibar. Very chilled out place with great live band music on Tuesdays and Fridays.

We spend most of our time at this bar, the atmosphere is fun and easy going. The food is average but good, they get pretty busy so the service can get a bit slow but our waiter who served us every day was super friendly and bubbly which made it all worth it. This place is right on the beach, you can watch the sunset and listen to some great Jazz bands.

Unfortunately for our last night we visited this bar. The service was very slow due to understaffing. A guy who presented himself as the owner was there very drunk. After listening to hes stories he insisted for us to take free drinks, but this guy was a pretty sad case. The short time we listened to him talking and talking and nagging and nagging when we declined was enough for us to rate this place 1 star. It really put a sad old mans face into this place.There is just something very sad when an old man probably in hes sixties is trying to act like hes thirty

Nice place to have a drink and some simple food. Prices are Ok but the availability of the food and drinks cannot be guaranteed. I only put two stars because I saw the waiter use the same tissue to wipe off his hands and face, casually proceeding then to clean the knife and fork for my chicken sandwich (which tasted good and luckily could be eaten without the cutlery).

Nice terrace on the beach. Good thing they dont allow street vendors to bother you. They are not allowed inside. Overpriced , bad quality food and drinks, is not worthy. I had a margarita a mango& avocado salad and some chicken skewers.The cocktail was bad not even close to reality.Salad was half mango and half avocadoTwo chicken skewers with 3 cubs of meat.I paied 46.000 Tzs .

Great location with beach, seafront seating under the shade of a huge tree; together with an indoor bar. Fridays and weekends they have live band music up to midnight, with some amazing jam sessions, mostly afro jazz, funk and soul. Guests are welcome to sing and/or play instruments.The food wasnt that impresive and was over priced. The waiter staff were genarally inattentive (with exception of bar staff).

I dont recommend this restaurant. The staff is not polite at all, they come to you when you call them as slow as possible. Their face seems do not show that they appreciate questions about the composition of the dishes.Table and seat are not clean.Toilette are dirty, you can smell them even where you are near the bar. Food is ok but not so much choice. They have a microwave to they certainly keep food for next day.

Waited 40 minutes for order to be taken. Pemba Kingfish was very dry. Chips were cold. Very limited selection of beer and sold out fast. Expensive. Foldable chairs on the beach were broken and very uncomfortable. Better places available with better service.

Giving two stars for the ambience and location and the fact u can dip your feet in the sand while having coctails. I have been here many times, but what I really found strange was the behaviour of the waiters. I dont like when waiteress assume she is gonna have a 5$ tip for a drink only - when I asked for my change she said oh, I thought its a tip, so how much I should bring back - haha, no sweety - you should learn to bring the change back and be grateful when a customers leave something for you on the table.

The waitress told us the price was 58000 Tzs when it was actually 48000. She tried to steal 5$ from us. When we told the staff they just didnt care.

Great tunes and great vibes right next door to the impeccable Tembo Hotel. Owner Abeid is almost always on hand and has even been known to throw together impromptu live shows on special occasion.
