Absolutely lovely tapas bar with good music and cosy atmosphere. Had the manchego cheese and the croquettes, both were tasty. We also had some delicious Sangria, its not on the menu but they know how to make them very well! Prices are very reasonable and the staff were all so lovely and very attentive. Would definitely recommend and come again in the future.
Live music with local music on Fridays. Gets really crowded so if you want to go sit, better go early before 8pm to grab a table. The place turns into a club scene around 9 to midnight. Bar gets also quite busy. The menu does not have typical tapas youd find in Spain. The Tuna tartare is quite good and so is the vegetable platter with hummus, avocado and pesto, which Ive had a couple of times now. Also had the streak on bread with cheese which I dont remember the name of... It was okay but not my favourite. For the size of the items (tapa type) the prices is quite high in my opinion.
Amazing cocktails that you can only find here. And you actually get it served like in the shown images. Food also very tasty! I personally think the cheese/meat platters are slightly overpriced but they are very good quality. Amazing attentive staff/service!
I really wanted to like this place. The staff were attentive, the food was decent. Im docking two stars because when I tried to pay by card, the manager insisted on billing me in USD instead of Tanzanian shillings and applied a conversion rate of 1USD = 2,200TZS. The going rate at that time was 1USD = 2,304TZS.This works out to be a 4.5% penalty on top of the conversion fee charged by Visa. This was not mentioned by the staff when I asked if I could pay by card before I sat down. It also wasnt stated anywhere on the menu. When I protested to the manager, he shrugged and said, If you come back again maybe I give you better rate.
The service is second to none in Zanzibar. The flexibility and creativity in cocktail creation is amazing. We havent been this happy, satiated and grateful for such wonderful service in a bit! Truly above and beyond. Not to mention the setting is lovely, chill and very suited to the end of a long day xx
This place is awesome to have your lunch with cocktails made up by the owner Stephen Pinto.
Beautiful drinks and food, also people who work here, including Stephen the owner, they are truly amazing! If in Stone Town make sure to check this place! 👌🏼
It was a special occasion for my wife and I, so I took the time to visit this place in the afternoon to reserve an outside table for a meal that evening. When I was making the reservation, the staff I spoke to made a big deal of saying how a benefit of making a reservation was that I could choose where I wanted to sit. We were therefore very disappointed when we arrived in the evening to find that all the outside tables were occupied, and the only available tables were in the otherwise entirely empty and atmosphere-less indoor area. We told the staff member how disappointed we were, and she acknowledged the mistake, saying that someone had forgotten to put out the reserved sign on an outdoor table. However, the really disappointing thing was that there was no effort at all to rectify the situation. For example, the final outdoor table had been occupied literally seconds before, and it would have been very easy to tell those people that it was reserved. Unfortunately, the attitude was very much yes, we made a mistake, but its tough luck for you. With that kind of approach, we decided not to stay, and sadly had to scramble to find somewhere else to celebrate our special occasion.
Lovely Bar and great cocktails. Reasonably priced compared with delivered quality. Can recommend this place for some tapas, but especially for the drinks.
Very tasty drinks, but a little slow service.
The setting was really good with and with really nice staff. However the reason why I am rating this 1 star is that my food came and half way through eating I realized there was a cockroach in my food! I let the waitress know and she stood there just looking at me and didnt even apologize until I said I was leaving...
Cocktails are about the same price on most formal sit down places but these are by far the best weve found on the island.
Amazing wine and amazing atmosphere.
Nice environment, interesting wine list, quite tasty food, friendly stuff, great owners, reasonable prices. Recommended if you re at stone town!
Wasnt really expecting great tapas in Zanzibar, and so was not disappointed. Decent though. Nice wine selection, fun crowd, good music. You can sit at the balcony and watch the street, which is a nice way to enjoy a glass of wine. So 3 stars for food, and one for being entertaining.
It is tucked away but not hard to find if you follow the signs. The restaurant has multiple rooms including an open air patio. The food was quite good but the cocktails were better.
Tapas bar. Atmosphere is excellent.Great place for a light snack and drinks. We had mixed plate. Salad. Chicken with avocado. And the prawn balls.Food was so so to my taste. That is why 4 stars. liked the chicken with avocado best. :)They bring bread with olive oil and vinegar, which is always great, as starts while waiting for the dishes to come out.Great cocktails . Very close to hotels. Minimal design. Had live music. Overall great expirinace.
Great ambience and place.Live music on saturdays is usually very good. Maybe a bit to loud.Try to book and outdoor table in advance.Food is good, with this to-share tapas format. But If you are spanish, dont expect the quality of the tapas to be incredible. Food is nice still and wine/cocktail selection good.
Its a nice spot with the barrel style of tables and a nice view at the balcony.Nice service from Allen and Irine.Authentic tapas and cocktails
Although well located and with great balcony overseeing the main street of Stone Town, I have to advice against going there. However you may not share my (very bad) experience. Heres what happened:Unfortunately the harassment started even before I entered the bar. I was followed by a local who then, as I was approaching the bar, demanded I buy him a beer. At least three people from the bar team have seen it and no one decided to react. Later Ive seen the same person to harass other customers what didnt provoke any reaction from the staff.Since I was drinking a local beer for over a week, I decided to order some imported one. I got one which was 5 months overdue. It was disgusting (who checked the best befere date on a beer if it tastes normal?). I approached the waiter and was handed another one - only one month overdue :) So I switched to wine. I tried two different reds - both were closer to vinegar as to wine. After that I just paid and left.So my tips are:1. avoid this place2. if you cant avoid this place, stick to local drinks only.
We had a perfect lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our experience last week. Good signage on the street. I need the provolone tapas again. Not to be missed! Well deserved ratings!
I think it’s one of the better places for food in Zanzibar. It’s a little pricey although food is really good. It’s a great place for drinks in the evenings. Thursday, Friday and Saturday they have live music.Totally worth the price! Quality drinks and great ambience.
Real taste of Spain with incredibly and painstakingly designed beverage menu a new star in Stone Town just started a phenomenal gastronomic journey
I love the quirk of the place...the atmosphere is warm and intimate, perfect for date night (thanks to the exotic Spanish menu and plenty of cheese) or a night out dancing. Live music by local bands plays most nights! Its at the heart of the town which is convenient for getting round and close to a restaurant and deli.
They have a lovely Spanish food menu, great cocktails (The Post Gin & Tonic) is my favourite, the staff are chilled, and they is often fabulous live music. Great place.
Beautiful place, but unfortunately not a good place to eat. The dishes are not well-cooked or tasty. Not a good place if you are hungry, as the tapas are too small to share. It is a bit too expensive for what is served. I wouldnt come back.
Good place to hang out in stone town and the happy hour time is a not to miss, also they have live band once a week and its always fun to be part of it
Great staff and good drinks. I usually go on Fridays as there is a live band who are awesome. Food is also amazing. 👍
Buena oferta de vinos y estupendos cócteles. They should either reduce the prices or increase the amount of food of the dishes.
The atmosphere is beautiful, nice live music and good people.... its pretty hot though, but that shouldnt be a problem
Nice place for lunch, glass of wine or beer. Thursday, Friday and Saturday live music party and busy dance floor. Definitely place to visit!
Nice place, but the tapas were bad and the bread was very dry. Id go again for a night out but not for dinner.
Possibly the best selection of beers in Stone town, including a few European brands. Quite tricky to find. Sharing plates were tasty.
Great music at weekend, nice food. Best place in stown town:)
One of the best places to eat in stone town. Good prices for Spanish food. You can also have lunch or dinner in a balcony looking at the street
We were there in the afternoon to eat. The Food was good but for the price the portions were quite small!
Not good choice. You should be researcher if you want to find chicken or tuna in the salad.Marinated tuna was only in the written form on the paper
Excellent tapas, cold drinks and great live music to dance to. Totally kid friendly and well worth a visit.
Great service and decent food. Some evenings its one of few places in Stone Town that has some dancing.
Great location for people watching from the balcony above the Shangani Post office in Stone Town. Good food, reasonably priced!
Taperia has the best sandwiches and charcuterie in Zanzibar. Service is great and the place has a nice atmosphere.
Tortilla looked deep fried and was cold in the middle, stale Crostinis and underwhelming potatoes. Our mistake was getting tapas in Tanzania. Stick to local fare
Lovely setting, gorgeous decor. Good menu. Prices rather high but the quality is outstanding.
Amazing Italian Pub with live music on fridays. Fun place
I can’t really recommend this place. The food wasn’t to good and it was really expensive! The service was bad as well. Don’t go there
Nice atmosphere with great views. OK tapas. Good wine!
Good prices and real spanish tapas and nice sound
I am really sorry for this bad Rewue but the good was really bad! The service was really bad! Probably it’s not ok to tell other people but by diharrea was other bad.. I am not going to recommend this place at all
Nice restaurant, beautiful sitting arrangement with good food
I know the taste of coffee is a very personal issue... but if you ask me: this place serves the best coffee in Stone Town hands down.
Great bar located in the heart of Zanzibar. Live music, good drinks and friendly staff.
Incredible food and wine! Beautiful view urban view from balcony and music.
A beautiful view, nice staff and defiantly good food and drinks to share some hours with friends
Love the food and drinks... nice atmosphere but not a great view...
Taperia has very good tapas, and a great place for some evening live music or watching a game of fotball.
Needs card facility. If not available need to say no rather than yes when asked prior to dining
Great drinks ,great ambience I loved their balcony
Good tasty foods, not pretentious, honest prices, courteous staff and management!
High prices for this type of tapas plus an entrance fee :(
Loved the energy. Great place for a quick bite and a glass of wine
Wonderful little place we stumbled upon. Superb service and tasty food.
Good! We ate burgers and salades ! Clean and good staff
Interesting place, but a little bit expensive to eat :) Dishes are cheap themselves, but they are small
Very nice bar and they serve good food
