Several times at Gerrys bar! I recommend to everyone! The location is spectacular! The food is very good and the staff very friendly. You can book fishing charters or private sailing charters from the bar. During sunset is the best vibe and the music makes the places ideal!

Lovely location but be prepared to have a bit of patience and repeat your order 5 or 6 times. We had some LOVELY boerewors rolls there and Savana.Also be prepared to pay tourist prices. It aint cheap. Go for the experience.

Cool place on the beach but definitely not up to the hype I had heard so much about. Spent almost 3x days in and out and there was nothing happening. Pretty empty most of the time. Sign says live music but that is only on Tuesday, according to barman there is no other entertainment.Possibly end of June is out of season....Ordered a pasta dish which was a small portion and very dry also the fruit smoothie consisted of mainly water. Views are spectacular tho. Difficult place to find if you are not walking on the beach. Bar staff are fairly friendly but can also be a bit arrogant if you show displeasure.Good place to relax and watch the sunset.

Great little beach bar in Nungwi beach. Friendly staff here and very chatty and only willing to help.Selection of drinks and specials werent bad.We sat and watched sunrise one evening on nice chairs and watched about 50kids play football. Very interesting.Definitely worth a stop for a drink and nice view.

I tried a handful of well reviewed restaurants and bars around Nungwi and Gerry’s had the best tasting food and cocktails. The atmosphere was also pretty cool with some live music. Comfortable seating and a relaxed vibe. It was worth the walk on the beach. Just make sure you bring cash.

Strolled by this magnificent place on the beach and decided to stop for lunch. Ordered a couple cocktails where the juices were made fresh and the drinks were amazing! Its takes some time to make such a beautiful concoction but well worth the wait and look at the view? Where else do you have to be? The food was so delicious that we are planning to go back for dinner. Definitely worth a stop and then youll want to stay a while!

Wow, what a great location. Have had the pleasure of visiting this lovely beach bar with my family over the past 3 days and have enjoyed every min. Great food ... particularly enjoyed the cocktails and the kids loved the mocktails. Wonderful atmosphere, live music was amazing and staff are excellent. Thanks and will be back soon

This was MOST LIKELY the place where we ate Barracuda and Tuna on the eve of our third mission and it was so good we still talk about it today. IF it was this place, they have a really good beer bucket special that ends soon. So in case it REALLY was this place, make sure you order plenty of buckets upon arrival.

Great place and view. watching the locals get their daily treasures from mother ocean can keep my busy the whole day.. I really dont like the cocktails in Zanzibar but if i had to pick a place with the best ones... this would be it. I am also a animal lover and they have dogs there that come and greet you and they are well looked after unlike the other animals on the island

Unexpected ! its a hidden gem !Food is delicious ! I had the fish burger with garlic sauce and my wife got the pesto pasta. Ok this is not local food but still both were really good. A bit pricy but its zanzibar .... definitely worth the walk through the village! We will come again !

Unreasonably slow service. We have waited over an hour for our food. Having waited for that long period of time, the grilled chicken served was raw and the carbonara was cold. When we got the bill, the waiter told us the exchange rate is US$1 to TSH$2,200. But after we paid, he said the rate should be $1 to $2,000. Just felt being treated like stupid tourist. It made my first day in Zanzibar not as good as it should be.

As a sunset bar its good. Not much more than what the other places around offer, but a good location and vibe. However the experience we had on a Tuesday party was disappointing to say the least. Place felt empty just some tables with people and 15 or so standing counting the ones at the bar. The power dropped suddenly almost every 20 minutes, which meant the band couldnt really play that much and music was off for almost the entire time we were there. If youre going there, get there early (7, 7:30 pm) so that you can actually hear the band and hopefully avoid the power cuts. Entrance fee is standard (10.000 shilling is the price for most, some parties charge 5000) and for us it was definitely not worth the price. We got there at ~10PM, stayed until 11:30 PM and ended up paying 20.000 shillings to hear 1 song that barely made it to its end and several 1 minute of different songs while the power was on. Dont know if, when getting there this late, negotiating the entrance is possible, but definitely worth the try after seeing it I would say dont go at all. They will assure you the band will still play a lot, in our case that ended up being a lie. Drinks are pricy like the rest of the beach, we found some places cheaper. We did not have any food, neither during the party or at sunset.EDIT: Wording to be more clear, detailing some parts as well.

Fantastic place. Fast service. Very friendly personal. If you want a relaxing restaurant go to this place. Fish food was very good. We asked the waitress for the best preparation and she gave a very good advice. They are very friendly to children. Free mosquito repellant next to the pepper& salt. We will go for a second time.

TSH 10,000 per person upon entry for the live music. Music was good but sound quality was a little bit bad. Ordered a seafood pasta with prawn and calamari in a white sauce and a beef burger with cheddar cheese. Not a lot of seafood in the pasta dish, the burger was OK considering I was told the meat in zanzibar is horrible. If you want to watch the soccer this is the place to go to. Had a fruit smoothie which was more juice than a smoothie. Total bill was TSH 47,000

Very poor service. They didnt have a number of things we ordered on the menu they also didnt tell us that they didnt have it before we ordered our meal and when my wife tried to order her dessert they didnt have it either they were giving us false information and telling us that they have the ingredient but no one wants to make it. We went there two days and didnt get dessert because they didnt have it and today they said that the ingredient has ran out why is it on the menu then.

The service is great; Mustafa, Teddy, Sheha, Shuma, Aloice, Stephen (the coconut), Sabina and Gerry are all very kind, service-minded and alert. The cocktails are great, the food is great, but their chapati is a bit bland.Food recommendations: Pasta, noodles and catch of the day.

Cocktails and juice​ were watery. Prawns were ok (average), but side dish salad was not fresh and smelled bad! Atmosphere were good and live music was not bad.

This place was extremely chill. Low key bar, with very nice food (try the carpaccio!) and good prices. The nicest meal I had around nungwi was at this place. Great staff as well.

Reasonable bar with good cocktails. However, if you inted to pay with dollars or credit card, AVOID. Unlike most bars and restaurants in the area, this restaurant is not credit card friendly. Apart from a 5% charge for using it (which to be fair is very common around here), then you are charged with a conversion rate of 1$ to 2000tzs (15% worse than the actual rate of 2300tzs and slightly worse than what the bureau de exchange in the Nungwi offera). Altogether you will be paying 20% more for your order. You will be better off going to any other restaurant that accepts card (there are several within a 5min radius) and charges 5% only.

Very nice and chill bar located at the beach. There is live music during the evening and for the sports lovers: they show football on the screens.

Relaxed little bar, barman was great! We did a fishing trip so came here in the evening to eat the tuna we caught, it was yum!

This is the only place serving French press cafe at Nungwi beach.Prepare to wait a little, but that was exactly the part I enjoyed there.The Pole pole attitude goes well with the beach atmosphere of Nungwi.Friendly and welcoming staff and my favourite bar on my Zanzibar trip.Do not miss it if you go to Nungwi, easy to find it right on the beach.
