Great place to enjoy the day at the beach and watch the sunset while you have a delicious dinner. The cocktail Bar is really amazing and the view absolutely unique on this side of the island. The rooms are clean, cozy, new renovated and bigger than usual and the prices are reasonable. It was very convenient for us to start our journey here, since its just a few minutes from the airport and they offer a free pickup service and its only about ten minutes to drive to stonetown. Im sure they also make a free drop off service for people, who wants to spend their last hours on a beautiful space before they leave home. Our room was with an ocean view. But the sunset are better to enjoy with a cold drink on the sun downer platform, where we had a nice and calm chillout vibe. Its definitely worth to visit this place, the amazing Botanic Garden (Jungle) the Ruins and the nice and sandy beach area. We will definitely come back to this place.

Very nice hotel with high standards for Africa, clean beach, romantic ruins in the park, working air condition, and a great view. The rooms are spacious and quite clean too. We did not try the bar or the restaurant cause the recommedations were not good and I never saw anyone eating here. Once in a month they make a disco in the ruin if the church which is a very beautiful location but you have to like soul and African hits which is nothing for me.

Everything super very interesting place for leaving, stuff very helpful and the hotel are really good. Except one problem with manager... He isnt there and he cant handle some issues... That means very stressed for us... That was very bad for the hotel. We are here for holidays not to have issues and problems. Any way the stuff support us well.

Imagine that end of a tedious week, and now you just want a new view by the beach, a cold beer and some music in the background. Theres the bar by a tree, theres a staircase that walks into the water, perfect for sunset lovers. Watch your step, and Come looking for serenity!

The resort is attached to a number of flats (AirBnB) which are distributed around the resort and the owner markets them as belonging together. So, this review is strictly confined to the Apartment no. 4 where we spent a week.As a family of 4 we cannot recommend this apartment! We made the grossly disappointing experience that from us 850 EUR and my company smartphone were stolen (exactly on the check-out day; the money disappeared as we went for breakfast before departure; so its likely that insiders took advantage of our absence). The discussions with the owner revolved around the security concept which in our view is flawed:# 1:There was no functioning safe for storage and no disclaimers on the precautionary measures to take; this shortcoming was amplified by the fact that the guests get a false sense of security (electrical fence, guard watching the entrance to the courtyard);# 2:Reception of the resort as safe for storage is utterly unreasonable, since it is too far away (you need to walk on muddy water road)# 3:The balcony door to the kitchen was always open and the kitchen was not locked from the rest of the rooms (insider may have stolen - or just someone who climbed in)# No basic equipment for 3-4 people, such as cutlery, plates, kitchen paper / rolls for simple snacks, if you are not going out to eat, particularly when with kids this is a challenge# Bad marketing of the apartment:Photo composition on AirBnB gives the impression that you are on site of the resort, albeit the text describes the reality, but completely unsuitable for families, especially when there are strollers (muddy streets with huge holes); accordingly, it is best to no longer allow families there or to clearly improve the service# Value for money was poor; open to me the question of how exclusive an apartment visitor really has access to the resort, because it seemed as if it was also possible for normal beach visitors to go to the bar and the restaurant; 900 euros for 7 nights are simply too much for a simple overnight stay (because thats all you can do in the apartment)In addition it was very unsettling that as we negotiated with the owner on a potential compensation for the stolen amount - for the reasons above - we were in the end accused of possibly having staged the theft! But positive things though:1. The resort is located beautifully and the food served is excellent - and the chef is highly skilled and friendly - as all of the staff !2. The transfer from the airport was also very helpful !3. The breakfast was excellent and it was generous from the owner to made up with it for the initial difficulties as a family which we faced and communicated to him. Nevertheless, in view of the incident and the owners initially communicated will to make up for the stolen amount, this concession completely fizzles out. Please google security measures to take if you come to Zanzibar - or otherwise consider a different destination to avoid disappointment ...

Newly renovated and absolutely amazing staff available to support with any request. This was our first location arriving in Zanzibar and definitely not the last time we go to see the local jungle ruins and taste the amazing food the kitchen prepares everyday.Great location for seeing stonetown, prison island and go for snorkling. Hotel offers access to these services on location and can be planned day by day.

My negative assessment concerns only apartment number 4, which is located opposite the Islah school, a 10-minute walk from the Jungle Paradise hotel, and I believe that I have the right to publish it here, since the check-in took place at the reception of the Jungle Paradise hotel itself. We stayed with two children (4 months and 2 years old) for a week in December 2021.Spoiler: on the evening streets of Zanzibar your wallet is safer than in these apartments!!! On the day of the check-out, money was stolen from our room!!!Unfortunately, the vacation did not work out from the very beginning: after 24 hours of travel with already tired young children, we were not immediately given the key to the booked apartment, but were brought by transfer from the airport to the hotel and arranged an unexpected tour showing the botanical garden and restaurant. The apartments are located in the elite area of Zanzibar City Mbweni. But the appalling condition of the roads to the beach/restaurant is immediately evident. After a tropical downpour, they were simply washed away from edge to edge, and there was no way around deep puddles. So for the first breakfast we walked ankle-deep in liquid warm haze. And how naive it was to take a baby stroller with us ... However, on the fourth day of our stay, one of the employees showed that there was an alternative road to the restaurant through the backyard of the hotel. This is about infrastructure. The apartments themselves are on the third floor without an elevator. The building is fenced with barbed wire, the gatekeeper sits at the door (do you still remember about the theft?). The rooms are presented as deluxe. And indeed - daily cleaning of the room by housekeepers from the hotel, as well as three rather spacious rooms with large beds, individual bathrooms, shower caps, white slippers, shampoo gels, bottled water and canvases by local artists. However, this is only the appearance of comfort. The bedroom where I spent the night had a balcony with a line for drying clothes, but I could not go out and hang my beach towel or wet swimsuit there, because the lock on the door was damaged and did not open; the room had a bath, but without a plug, apparently in order to save water. And there were mosquitoes that bit my daughter, and I caught them all the first night - when choosing a hotel, pay attention to the presence of a mosquito canopy over the bed. For comfort, I also lacked a hairdryer and bedside tables, which are visible in the photo, but not in reality. At times, the electricity goes out, which means you will not have air conditioning / fan, hot water, or wifi at this time.Well, the icing on the cake was STEALING money from our room on checkout day while we were at breakfast! The door is not broken. Things didnt stir. The perpetrators definitely knew where to look. The thieves, one might say, even spared us, in my backpack all the equipment - a laptop, a camera and documents remained intact. Only cash was missing from my wallet from the bottom of my backpack. My husbands money and phone were stolen. The calculation was clearly that we would discover the loss only in a taxi or even later. The police were called, the manager of the Jungle Paradise hotel and the owner of the apartment were notified. My husband testified, they did not take them from me. Also, the police did not take fingerprints from my leather wallet! A huge omission, since there were only traces of me and the thief !!! But what shocked me the most was that the owner of the apartments first promised to compensate for the losses, and then, even though we had a check for the exchange of part of the missing currency, he said that we had no evidence that we had this money at all and we ourselves just set up the loss and thus decided to finance their further journey! Family with a baby and a year old!We have not received an apology until today. Also, this extremely negative traumatic experience at the beginning of our family vacation undermined the trust in the inhabitants of the island, and we were already expecting a catch from every smiling counter.

We were on the territory of this hotel in transit as part of a tour to the island of Chumbe. We did not rest in the hotel itself. However, from the very entrance to the territory, the hotel really liked. Dilapidated historical buildings, a very green area, an abundance of pools. Separately, the chic view from the terrace and the bar to the mangroves along the coast, a wide coastline deserves attention. I didnt see the numbers. It is necessary to take into account the low tides, there are about 800 meters from the coast. I kept this hotel for myself as one of the places where I would stay for a day as part of a motorcycle / car tour of Zanzibar.

Me and my boyfriend spent the last days of our two-week trip here (this time in the resort) after staying in the managers apartments at the beginning of our trip in Zanzibar (which were perfectly adequate and clean for us).The resort itself is literally in a small jungle right on the beach, which gives it a very special feeling. The rooms are just a few steps from the sea (ours had a direct view of the sea from the room), really nicely renovated and, above all, clean! Room service changes the towels every day, mops the floor and lovingly prepares the bed for the next night. There is also a small coffee bar (kettle, powder and Co.), a small fridge for drinks and a very well-functioning air conditioning system with an additional fan are part of the rooms equipment. In the evening someone always came with a mosquito spray to avoid annoying bites. The staff is generally very accommodating and friendly, you could also have food and drinks brought to the provided loungers and umbrellas on the beach, which I personally really liked. The associated restaurant and its kitchen is fabulous (really very good chef!!), the portions really more than enough and not overpriced. The breakfast offers a wide range of options in the form of a buffet, and I especially liked the freshly made juices. There was also the possibility to book various trips on site and to start them directly from the hotel, otherwise taxi drivers were almost always available. In summary, I really enjoyed my stay at Jungle Paradise Beach Resort & Spa and would be very happy to stay there again on my next visit to Zanzibar. :)

If I put 2 stars its good for the server and the staff who are very nice. I write this review hoping that it will change this restaurant which is in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately the food is very expensive for what we have on our plate and the wait is very long and if at least it was correct we would forget the wait but this is not the case. I think the boss should review his menu because there are 1000 things on it but 3 times in a row there was not what I wanted. Too bad for such a beautiful place. I do not recommend.

The resort is set amidst botanical gardens and the historic ruins of Mbweni. This combination and the direct location on the quiet, idyllic beach make this place magical! The staff always greets you with a smile, is helpful and is available for all requests. The rooms are beautiful, well equipped and the service is great. Every day the housekeepers conjured up a smile on our faces with small gestures. The restaurant and the beach bar impress not only with the location and the view of the sunsets but also with the large selection and the excellent quality of the dishes.Excursions and boat tours can be organized on site, you will be picked up directly from the beach by boat in the morning. In short, it was the culmination of an unforgettable holiday for us!

A magical resort with a private beach from a clean mouth with mangroves around a bar and a restaurant on the sea Pleasant and clean rooms Excellent service Delicious food should take into account long food serving times. As in many other places in Zanzibar ... a departure point for a cruise on the nearby island of Zumba should be arranged in advance at reception. Helped us a lot in coordinating corona tests
