Beautiful grounds, friendly staff. My wife and I enjoy all of the food, diner was delicious. Wish we had more time, one night was not enough, as we stayed on the beach front villa. Our villa was very spacious and clean.Only one gripe was I srill have not received my refund for the other night we did not stay.
Decent aim for luxury. The grounds aim at looking somewhat like a Buddhist Zen garden... failing spectacularly. However, the pool area and the beach access with its sand dunes and greenery make up for the initial shortcomings. Food is way, way over-priced but decent in quality. Not memorable, just filling. Service is what youd expect at a 4-star facility charging 5 or even 6-star prices, cordial. Sufficient.
Your typical 5 stars hotel on a budget. The staff is very welcoming but there are details that are unacceptable :- we had to pay for extra waters in our room. Fortunately, after negotiations the staff kindly provided us some water.- expresso coffee in the included morning breakfast are also extra chargeOtherwise, the gym is nice, the villa is spacious, and it’s calm at night.Don’t expect the food served to blow your mind
Fantastic property with 25 large rooms. Large and well maintained garden with direct access to the beach. Big open restaurant with ocean view. Fantastic food, very friendly staff. Highly recommend.
My experience is taxi driver in Zanzibar stone town, prison island, village tour, snorkeling mnemba, safari blue and spice farm etc
Amazing cost friendly beach hotel in Southern Zanzibar with incredible Cottages
This hotel is so nice and clean and the Staff is so amazing! The rooms are reasonably priced being right next to the luxury white sand lodge. They offer literally the same amenities so I would go with kisiwa! Great beach, pool, and the food is quite well. You have to walk the beach about 5 min to get to the small bars and grills on the beach but it is amazing
Perfect stay. Villas and ground were amazing. Half board and food could be improved (some nights were good, others were bad) and alcohol pricing is a bit expensive (twice the prices of other hotels in Zanzibar, 11k shillings for beer), the pool and beach access were unbeatable.Service was flawless, from check-in, monitoring the stay, room service and so forth.
Stopped by to enjoy lunch, had a local fish bowl and burger. Both were below average and definitely overpriced compared to the restaurants around.Menu card fixed and they had a lot of trouble to accommodate our requests. We asked if we could borrow their pool for a short swim - not possible, hotel guests only.I can’t tell if your hotel guest - but for the limited impression, their restaurant is not worth a visit.
Amazing hospitality and service, in a very nice and quiet location. Food was great and the pool next to the beach was simply very convenient. As many places in Zanzibar, internet was slow. Apart from that, very recommended.
The place is just a piece of paradise: the compound is well maintained, clean and simply but peaceful decorated. The pool is clean and the restaurant area is beautiful. I could not tell if the place was full but did not feel overwhelmed and could rest. The rooms are big, nicely decorated and clean. The staff is lovely, friendly and smiling. The half board system is perfect for resting: no need to look for options and food is good (traditional Zanzibar buffet on Sunday and bbq on wed nights). The breakfast is not very creative but quantity of food is plenty. The place is 20 minutes walking from center Paje by the beach (to do during the day). It makes it a good distance for other options as bar, cafe and restaurant, seaweed women cooperative, kite surfing schools but remains far from noise.
Overall a great stay. Hotel is very nice and staff extremely attentive. The breakfast and dinner buffer could be somewhat expanded, but we the staff was always very kind to cater for our requests.Perfect location for kitesurfing (incl. for school/rental) but not much else to do there
My first trip to Zanzibar and I fell in love with the place instantly. Paje Beach is a great location especially if you are interested in kite surfing or surfing. The turquoise blue water are spectacular and Kisiwa Beach Hotel is very very nice. Its not cheap and a bit of a walk to the main action on Paje (1km or so), but the best quality hotel along Paje Beach and great food.
Spent some days and its a lovely Hotel. Rooms are excellent very spacious and clean. Great product. Recommendation, on the terrace instead two uncomfortable chairs some sunbeds or even better a hammock that would make it fabulous!!Beach is nice but it is in all honesty a kite surfing beach so you can feel disturbed by that. Service and billing was all good. Breakfast coffee was mmm if you are a coffee addicted as I am you will not be happy. Also please traditional things such as Chay Masalla should be included and day after day the same quality and taste.Breakfast was ok nothing out of the world but also not bad and overall the meals where fine. The area and individual rooms are the best of it. Really enjoyed and staff was wonderful.
Perfect for away from it all, laid back, boutique style, on the beach white sand, quite with personal friendly service. Calm sea water with shallow depth for long distance to wade in, breakers in distance. In short, cannot recommend it enough.
A beautiful tidy place with modern facilities and very welcoming and friendly staff. The villas are super. Dinner is nice and cozy, mixture between buffet and menus, different every day. A nice pool area right by the beach, sunbeds both by the pool and on the beach, showers to rinse off the sand. Power outlets on the beach, and even wifi, however the speed was pretty much useless at the time we were there, but I guess it is what you can expect in the area. Food and drinks can be ordered both by the pool and the beach.
Fenomenal spot. It really feels like an oasis. The villas are located on the beach in a garden like scenary. The service is just outstanding, the staff makes sure to see you and provide an superfriendly and personal service. You feel just at home.I love chilli and had extra chilli-ginger-mix every meal. The villas are really good and the beds made you feel like home. The pool is nice and clean. The gym is good, for any sessions. All in all Job and his team makes sure everyone feel taken care off!
Excellent accomodations and a beautiful beach/pool. Service from bar staff could have been better around pool/beach area. Simple drinks took forever to come out. Even simply opening a bottle of beer and delivering to patrons took appx 10-15 min on average. I expected better given the inflated price point for alcohol. I would have spent more money at the bar if prices were more reasonable. However, everything else was positive and will still return on my next trip to Zanzibar.
I almost couldnt believe in what my eyes were seeing... A place so beautiful, something so stunning that couldnt be real. The colours... Oh the marvellous colours of the sea... The white soft sand, the deep greens of the trees... The birds... the flowers... and that twinkle of the bright warm water... just like a shimmering veil of emeralds and sapphires... The people, the way they move over the water as over the sand... magnificent way of elegance... Well I couldnt stop of getting pictures to be sure it was true.
It was Safe for kids, clean, staf is happy and warmingly politte, neet resort, great food, houses and housekeeping at great level, pool perfectly mentained, sandy beach cleaned,... cinemmon in koffe make me super happy. They understand food safty and they did take a good care for gluten sensetive son.Fresh frut and vegies looks good and mnjami. We have a super NY party at the beach!Best regards to staff! Great managment with a honest smile.
Pretty disappointing experience. Definitely not a 4 star. Problems at check in, inexistant wifi, poor food diversity and very basic breakfast.
Our stay at Kisiwa was great. Friendly staff, great rooms and a fantastic location. It is far from the touristy spots but if you just want to relax and kite surf then it is perfect.
Great atmosphere, spacious rooms and a fantastic beach. The staff is very friendly and the hotel has a fully equipped gym!
What a lovely lovely beach resort, it met and exceeded expectations in every single regard. Friendly staff and management, excellent service, spacious clean serviced rooms , highly recommended
Probably the best hotel at Paje. Simon and all the staff were super friendly and helpful during our stay. They made sure everything was alright. Food was great, beach was relatively calm, and the villas are amazing. Definitely recommend this place!
A hidden jewel waiting to be discovered. The staff is very attentive, the reception was warming, the rooms are breathtaking, the food is genuinely tasty and worthy of another visit
I would like to like this place more but it has flaws. While good standard and staff is generally very helpful, rooms lack character, drinks are ridiculously overpriced (14000 shilling for a glass of wine, really?) and there isnt something like a buzzing communal area for the evening. Food isnt up to the standard they claiming they are (4 star).
Boring and the food is not great. Not close to anything but a kite surfing school. Staff were nice but not very attentive. The grounds are in great condition. The rooms are way over priced.
Beautiful hotel nice beach
One of the best restarants in Paje. We were in another hotel but visited Kisiwa several times! Everyone was very frindly. Also the hotel looks pretty nice. I guess the next time I would also check this hotel
The staff are friendly. The accommodation AMAZING. The food AMAZING. The pool, the beach everything AMAZING. Would definitely recommend the resort to everyone.
Piece of paradise!Helpful staff, the place is amazing at all
Great place. Service is just perfect. Great accommodation. Food is good, except the salads. Overal great.
Very nice place with a beautiful beach. Nice if you like a resort like atmosphere rather than local immersion.
At times there may be not much to do other than lounge and eat, but thats the whole point! So many kite surfing schools and opportunities!
Very nice service, but food quality could be better. Especially breakfast should be much improved.
Is unique beach hotel, fantastic
It is quiet and peaceful with tasteful and spacious accommodation. The food is absolutely wonderful.
What makes this place a must visit are its people! Such attention to the little things that matter and truly make you feel at home!
Nice clean hotel, with great beachfront area
Amazing is an understatement! Absolutely Fabulous!

Excellent !! the staff, the place, the decor, the rooms, the catering service, everything was perfect !! After 1 week on safari, we spent 1 relaxing week at Kisiwa on the Beach and for us it was the dream. Calm, serenity by the pool or on the beach, chic and friendly atmosphere in the lounge for a drink and in the restaurant. Spacious room, impeccable cleaning, isolated and silent bungalow, we were able to truly rest. Unforgettable 12/31 evening with restaurant and buffet on the beach, singer and dancers, show and dance with all the customers and staff, crazy atmosphere, what a end of the year !! A very beautiful place, which pampers you, we highly recommend it and our next project is to come back with the family!
Kisiwa on the Beach is a dreamlike complex with spacious, functionally furnished villas ... 👍 the staff is super friendly ... you already felt welcome on arrival ... ☺️The massage there was great too.The white sandy beach invites you to take a walk and at low tide you can walk far into the sea and admire the seagrass farms ...A place to relax and a paradise for kitesurfers ...We had a great time there at the end of September ...Clear recommendation ...
Well-kept complex. Villas offer a lot of space. No mass tourism. Everyone was very friendly. Security ensures that you are not harassed. Pool very clean. Beautiful beach. Special thanks to Evelyn who was able to change our flight, which I couldnt. Here you can do a few days to really relax. But if youre looking for a party, youve come to the wrong place. It is usually quite windy. Surfers paradise
A great hotel, you feel welcome when you check in. All of the staff are so attentive and helpful. In the restaurant a really great kitchen, all dishes to be recommended. Cleanliness in the whole area is at the highest level. There is a gym, spa. Price performance top👍. We will definitely come back and recommend it to others. Great management.
Kisiwa TOP Hotel. Already at check-in you will be warmly welcomed with a cold drink and you will feel welcome. People at the reception are unbelievable. We had also booked a transfer through the hotel, a super friendly driver and tried very hard to explain everything you can visit in Zanzibar and what activities are possible in the hotel. Rooms, or rather villas, are a dream, super nice, spacious and equipped with everything possible. Are cleaned during the day and checked again in the evening and beds / lights are made for guests. All employees in the restaurant are very friendly and try to make a perfect team. Kudos to the chef and the entire team. In the kitchen you can see everything through large windows. Breakfast was great, everything a la carte fresh and tasty. Dinner a la carte is also very well prepared. The whole area is a dream, whole gardeners make an effort to make so many trees and plants so beautiful, great. A nice pool with deck chairs and umbrellas adds to the satisfaction. The pool boy was very nice after a day I knew who wanted where and prepared the beach chairs with towels. There is also a very large beach with white sand, umbrellas and deck chairs. By and large we can recommend Kisiwa on the Beach a top team, the manager can be proud. Well be back for sure.
