October 2021, we did 10 dives with the fun diversDiving in the region is with smaller boats, due to tide and shallow waters.Fun Divers have 3 boats, one „Speediboati“. Equipment was well in shape, mostly quite new and big brands. Boats did carry first aid kit/oxygen. Compressor room could not have been cleaner.The staff was friendly, welcoming with local charm. They provide a high level of service, you don‘t need to carry or prepare any equipment. Diving was safe and sound. The guides know their job, are relaxed, friendly, funny and show you a lot that would be easy to miss. During break you are served water and fresh fruit (excellent). For diving I would recommend the multiple site with info to what to expect under water. However, there are no deep dives, no wrecks. What you gonna see is mainly different types of colorful reef, fish, snails, frogfish, turtle, leavefisch, lobster etc. nice. Our 2-tank dives have been around 8:00 to 13:00. boat ride is 15-45 minutes. We did only 4 dives with this crew, but had a great time with them! They make smal groups so it feels like a private dive. Good gear, good instructions and our dive master Usi took care of everyone in the group.And you can visit their fish restaurant next door to the centre, you wont regret it!

Great local Diving Crew, very friendly and great vibe and atmosphere. New and good equipment. The swimming pool for newbies is quite dirty, probably not cleaned in a little while and no showers on location. You can pay with card and you’ll get some fruits and water. The dives felt a bit rushed, no briefing and quick water entrance and descend. First dive site was cool and well guided, but a bit short.. On the second dive we git some current and missed the dive site and just wandered around for 30min then ascended and drove with the boat a bit further to dive another 10min. So both dives about 40min. I didn’t get a dive computer so I didn’t know if the no dive time was respected. All in all a nice simple experience but don’t expect too much.

Fun Divers Zanzibar is a great dive shop on the north tip of Nungwi, completely run by locals.They know the reefs like the back of their hands and have very good equipment and professional divemasters. We did a total of 11 dives with them and never felt unsave or ill-prepared.Cholo, the owner, was responding fast pre-booking and very kind with great hospitality when on site.Ussi, our main divemaster, showed great experience and was able to lead us to see turtles, octopus, lionfish, stingrays, groupers, trumpet fish, clown fish and many more!The reefs itself were healthy (no coral bleaching) and filled with marine life. Mnemba was amazing, but Tumbatu was even better because of the healthy, huge reefs and perfect, 30m vision! (And it was less crowded that Mnemba). But the local dive sites were able to impress as well, with decent vision and great amounts of fish.The dive groups were small (max 5 people/ divemaster), and in the one case where we exceeded five people on the boat, another divemaster was send on the trip to ensure the groups stay small and manageable. This was especially relevant as we saw other dive shops diving out with 10-15 people on a large boat, which almost certainly results in a worse experience for everyone.At FunDivers however, the Groups were divided by knowledge and air consumption, so we never had to ascend too early because one member of the group was out of air faster than anyone else.Pricing was also fair, especially considering the offered pre-booking discount! Other dive shops did not offer a comparable package at this price level, and also short term changes/additions to our initially booked package were made possible by Cholo and his crew.Overall, we were extraordinary happy with our choice of Fun Divers, as it resulted in supporting a locally run business, with excellent equipment and service, a great, loveable crew and awesome dive sites! Id give two 5 Star reviews if I could and will tell anyone of my friends who come to Nungwi to book with this dive amazing dive shop! Thank you very much at Cholo and the whole Crew (Isaak, Ali, Ussi and everyone else) - we hope we are able to come back one time!

Among all the other businesses around , this one is the local one , owned by Zanzibar people. They were very polite, friendly, they were able to accommodate us immediately, while the other businesses were fully booked and they were working only with groups. It was only my husband and I and they took us to the Mnemba Island for snorkelling The Captain made a huge plate from tropical fruits for us and we had it while my half body was in the water . It was paradise on Earth! Thank you guys for this unforgettable moment, we will see you next year !

It was an amazing experience! The whole team is very helpful, they are very attentive and serious when it comes to security on the dives. They know their diving spots very well so we were able to see dolphins on the surface, some huge octopus and a few pretty rays.Cholo is a very experienced instructor that guided me through my AOWD course and helped me finish it in the best way possible. Id like to thanks all the patience they had with us. I hope to see them again soon for more dives!

Great diving center. Everything works and they make sure your safety. Excellent dive masters and local knowledge. Waters are amazing and you get the chance to see how local fisherman town lives. They have best boats and equipment and they really care about the environment too.

Equipment was in great shape, I tried many companies and a lot of times equipment is in disrepair or leaking or very old, but in Fun divers it is in great condition! We had an absolutely amazing time with Fun Divers during our stay in Nungwi in September 2019. The crew, all locals, took such good care of us both during the dives and at the surface, always putting the guests safety and happiness first. In total, I did 8 days with them and my friend did 5, and during those days they took us to a great variety of dive sites – local as well as in Mnemba and Tumbatu. We dived in very small groups so there was no stress, and all the guides were very knowledgeable about local marine life. Between the dives they served us lovely fruit plates, sambosas and donuts that we could enjoy in the sun. A huge thank you to Cholo, Issa, Ussi, Bakari, Ali and all the others for a wonderful diving experience in Nungwi!

Great choice if you are looking to scuba dive in Nungwi! We had 3 days of amazing diving with Jolo, Isa and the rest of the crew - everything is profesionally organized, proper equipment, fruits and snacks (incl. the best sansibari donuts) on the boat and everyone is extremly helpful. There is a choice of dive sites for beginner and advanced divers alike, most accessible in 10-45 minutes by boat. Our groups were always small (2-4 divers per guide). Locally owned school, so don‘t hesitate to support them! See you next time :)

Amazing diving experience with Oussi as a diving teacher, went to Mnemba for 2 dives, with wonderful corals and fishes, and one extra dive at the magic reef (not far from the club but amazing spot) that allowed us to watch sea turtles! Amazing team and a lot of fun for these dives, I totally recommend ! (Dives in January 2021)

I absolutely recommend this diving company. Nice people, good theory explanation, learning in a pool, good equipment, tasty fruits and doughnuts:)) I went to diving with them 4 times during my vacation so I know what I am saying :) I saw so many wonderful things, especially a turtle and octopuses. When my camera had been broken they gave me their Go Pro. Guys, if you read this I love you!

We had the pleasure to get our PADI open water certificate at fun divers and it was nothing but a delight ! The crew was welcoming, friendly, and our instructor Cholo was very patient in teaching us the skills we had to practise. It was our first time diving, and the team at Fun divers made it an unforgettable memory. We felt very at ease with them and could enjoy our dives at a 100%, even though we didn’t have any diving experience before that. After the first dive of the day, we could enjoy some of the best pineapple we had in Zanzibar as well as other delicious food, before heading back into the water. We could see countless number of fish, moray eels even a turtle, all peacefully swimming around magnificent corals. We could also enjoy the company of dolphins ! Thanks again to the whole team, we wish to see you once more !

Fun Divers is an absolute blast! Booking was easy and Cholo was very flexible and accommodating with the changing needs of our group. The shop is the only locally-owned and operated dive shop in Nungwi, so you can feel good about supporting the locals! The crew knows the area extremely well and they selected the best spots for us to dive at Mnemba Island! Visibility was incredible and there was a lot to see! The snacks and water provided were delicious (vegetarian) and the equipment was generally top-notch. On the first dive I had some trouble with my mask because of my mustache, my guide switched masks with me underwater, I cleared it and was able to enjoy the rest of the dive so big thanks to that guy. Excellent service from start to finish, they even hooked us up with a free sunset cruise that evening! Just remember to re-apply your sunscreen between dives!!

We did the Open Water course with Cholo and his team and we only have good comments. First, he and his tean are pioneers since they own the first diving center in Nungwi in which only local people work. The course exceeded the expectations in quality and material. The day after the course we also hired two dives in Mnemba which were outstanding. Second, the price is much lower compared to the other centers although quality of the boat, gear and guiding were just great. Totally recommended!

I dove with Fun Divers Zanzibar for almost a week and spent plenty of time with this amazing crew.All of them are funny, friendly and easygoing.Cholo is very professional and always made sure to do the best for any customer. He even went to the length of finding sharks in Mnemba because he knew that i love them.Ussi, Ali and Issak are such funny, kind and welcoming people. We joked around a lot and had so many laughs while diving together. All of them had very keen eyes and showed us an abundant of marine animals underwater, e.g. green sea turtles, big groupers, different kinds of morays, octopuses and leaf scorpionfishes.But the staff also knew how to handle difficult situations very professionally. On several occasions we dove with beginners and one of them was very afraid of her first dive. Ussi was very patient and never left her side so that she would feel safe underwater. I had a leaking mask once (as i took one too big), but Issak helped me to take care of it underwater and never left sight in case the problem would last. They also had spare equipment on board and were always prepared for adjustments (weights, masks, fins etc.). Ali was always the first one to help to get into your dive gear on board.The dive gear was well maintained, i even got a brand new wetsuit.Dive groups were small and comfortable (usually 3 people, never exceeding 5 while i was diving with them), which was one of the main reasons i dove with Fun Divers. They also have two boats, so that they were able to divide the group in smaller ones and visiting different dive sites.The staff was very relaxing and let you do your own thing if you were an experienced diver, only calling you back if they saw an interesting animal, but took even greater care with people who were beginners. They did a good briefing on board before entering the dive site.Apart from the very delicious Samosas and fruits we’d enjoy on board during our breaks, the crew is made up of local people, who are treated and paid fairly.If you want to support a professional and amazing local dive crew i would strongly recommend Fun Divers!All in all we made very good friends and i am definitely looking forward to dive them again in the future.

This PADI certified dive center is great. All of the guys are super friendly and competent. We went to 4 dive sites in 2 days and all of them were beautiful. The equipment is well-kept. I totally recommend this place!

Really professional team who were able to spot all the marine life we wanted to see. The fast boat was great, got us to Mnemba and Tumbatu much quicker than other dive companies which meant we still had our afternoons free.

Great people, Knowledgeable, perfect gear and less expensive! We had a great day with a group of 6 (two discovery dives, 2 licensed divers and 2 snorkelers). We even have been swimming with Dolphins!

Professional staff, making the most out of two beautiful dives to Mnemba Island. I dont know if if ever seen such a diversity in the smal fish marine life as these reefs. Besides the three brothers owning the dives shop are locals, which isnt to common in an island where much is owned by forengers.

We dived for the first time, the two of us had a separate instructor. The dive and ascent were very smooth and none of us had problems with our ears, the main thing is to follow the instructions. The guys are taken to an extremely good location.They also helped catch and hand over to the police a scammer who offered diving at a lower price, but only took out for snorkeling (so I lost vigilance and did a stupid thing that agreed) use only these guys, here you will be given a check with a subscription stamp and will help in every way. For some reason, there are no reviews in Russian, we need to fix it) I liked everything! Picked up by car from the hotel and returned the same way. Instruction in English with pictures is understandable even with a beginner level of English. Then workout in the pool right there. Then a boat trip to the reef, 10 minutes, the first dive with the entire tank, we got about 35 minutes - super! They are allowed to swim freely, but naturally under supervision. Then we moved to another place, changed the cylinders for fresh ones and the second dive for the whole cylinder. There are not so many animals as in Egypt, but they are different, which are only the stars :) Everything is safe and good. For 2 people, only $ 200 was paid. From start to finish approximately 3 hours. We contacted them via WhatsApp.Thank you guys, it was wonderful!

For some reason, I forgot that you can leave reviews and delayed with this) 2020 February-March, incredibly pleasant and sympathetic guys, at the time of arrival I was not taken by any center referring to the strong employment, these guys were glad to me despite the large number of tourists, 5 days together, I saw almost everything around me - I managed to find a lot of fish, seahorses, dolphins, turtles, I managed to fight with a tiger fish - a great bonus for my birthday. The guys helped at all stages - from the transfer from the hotel to adjusting the amount of air in the cylinder (I breathe like an old grandmother under water🤪)Very friendly atmosphere, it was scary at first because I was the only Russian on board with poor knowledge of English, but its good that the underwater world does not require special knowledge of the language)great tasty snacks, donuts still cant find that delicious)The guys have become almost family, I look forward to new meetings to pass the PADI certification, I really miss ❤️ those who choose the center - please, you will not regret, for those who decided - protect the skin - because of your laziness and ignoring the rules of behavior in the sun, I got a burn of my body 🤪

We have been looking for a diving spot for a long time! And they were not mistaken with the choice. This was my first experience and I was a little worried. But this is the only place where we were offered a workout in the pool and explained everything in detail.The instructor told in detail about the equipment, showed and checked all the exercises.Unfortunately, on the appointed day we could not come (which we had warned about in advance) and the guys went to meet us, saying that we could come on any other day, having also agreed in advance! We have not lost any money or nerves and are very grateful for that!On the day of the dive, I noticed how carefully the guys check and cook everything. We were alone + another diver + captain and our instructor. Boat with awning looks safe. The first dive on one reef, 35-40 minutes, then a snack (fresh fruit and water were taken for us), equipment preparation and we sailed to the second reef. We dived deeper and felt a little longer. During the dive, the instructor watched each one closely and showed us especially interesting fish.We were promised a magical and extraordinary underwater world of Zanzibar and we got it! And for me it was a wonderful first experience, now I want to dive again and again! Thank you very much!Anyone looking for a diving club in Zanzibar - I recommend it)

A great place to get your PADI certification. I passed open water, my wife is advanced.They are very attentive to the instructions, everyone worked in the pool.Equipment of all sizes is available, they are ideally selected.Scenic places to learn. Reefs very rich in living creatures.After training, we took another trip to the reef to a neighboring small island.The staff are very friendly, they communicate even with those who barely know English. In addition, they are fed with fruits and donuts.Highly recommend

On the spot in the pool, they are instructed with working out the main points - well done. 2 dives for the maximum cylinder time - about 35 minutes in different reefs, crossed by boat. 2 days after 3 dives, 2 divers, 1 snorkeler. Amazing dive center, they pulled bottles on the boat, from the boat, tossed automatics and jacket, they even took off the lead and jacket in the water and pulled it on the boat themselves, so far I have experienced such a relaxing dive only once, just 5 stars full service. On board small snacks (water, watermelon, bananas, pastries) included.Good choice of locations for everyone to enjoy, lots of fish and corals. The amount charged exactly agreed with the price list on the website.
