If you want to enjoy the sea world with a few people and slowly, I really recommend this shop!! Kibwana and staffs are very kind, friendly and welcoming you. The price is also reasonable compared to shops in other areas. And above all, Kibuwana knows dive points very well, so it was very nice to be able to go to a amazing point that I have never been to in other shops. Absolutely amazing experience with Kibwana and his crew !We went on a private diving experience in the big ocean with the mission to see a turtle in her home!We went for 2 diving 45 minutes each and it was magical ! We saw dolphins, multiples fish including scorpion fish and a beautiful TURTLE !!! We were very lucky !It was really perfect, we felt safe under the sea and could enjoy our experience entirely.If you want to do diving in the ocean in Zanzibar I only recommend Kibwana, don’t hesitate for a second !

We had an amazing time with Kibwana exploring various dive sites around Zanzibar and can fully recommend him. As experienced divers we got exactly the right balance between fun dives and challenge (big wall, strong drifts at aquarium, etc.). The equipment is in good shape. Through his naturally cheerful personality, it was always a bliss being around Kibwana. Even on days, when we were not diving, we made it a habit to come to his restaurant for great seafood and nice chats. Great dives with Kibwana on Mnemba Island’s reef ! We got in touch with him through WhatsApp before arriving in Matemwe and he was very responsive and accommodating. His prices were the cheapest we found in the area and everything was perfect ! The snack between the dives was an awesome surprise (the best snack I’ve ever had between 2 dives over the years) and Kibwana was super nice. Excellent choice of Diving place if you are in Zanzibar ! Very experimented divers who make diving fun! Kibwana is a very good instructor for beginners and less experimented divers, very kind and always smiling. Idris his second is also very pleasant to dive with. We enjoyed wonderful dives near Mnemba island where most of scuba agencies go (but Kibwana is the nearest from this place). He is also the cheapest from the area, but dont be affraid of that you are in good hands and you wont be stuck with a big group of tourists. Best quality/price ratio for sure !

Great diving shop. Good gear, brand new wetsuits etc. Professional guiding by Kibwana, friendly and to the point service. It was just the two of us with him, which means youre not dependent on a big group. He quotes a lower price to compete with bigger diving schools that work with the resorts. Recommended!

To be honest, If I walked by the office at the beach I would’t say that is the place I want to learn diving at. However, when we looked at it online by google reviews, the perfect 5star ratings convinced us and let me say it has 5 stars out of 5 for a reason. At first we only wanted to do the Discover dive (for total beginners) and ended up coming for more, resulting in Kibwana leading our very first PADI certification and we definitely don’t regret. Great service and also communication (whatsapp), well and clearly explained instructions and amazing positive attitude of the owner and his team made this an unforgettable experience. We are very happy with the dive 😊 definitely recommended!He picked us up in the hotel and briefed us in his dive shop. There were about 20 wetsuits and the equipment was fine. Then another ride to the point nearest to the island. The boat was not a typical dive boat, the tanks just lie on the ground. Before the dive we passed by dolphins and jumped a couple times to swim with them. Got within a meter 🏊🏻‍♀ (better than a dolphin tour we did in Kimikazi)Its almost 30 minutes to Mnemba. He listed the fish we might see and the gestures. I was surprised by the number of fish and variety. Plenty of coral but not the biggest. After the first dive there was more fruit than we could eat. Second dive was similar, less coral, more fish.

Amazing diving experience with the Kidwana team! After communicating on WhatsApp, the team picked us up on the beach of our hotel in Matemwe (we were restricted in time) to go directly to the dive locations. All the equipment was ready, and the certifications had been checked. We felt safe and confident. We had 2 very long dives around Mnemba. I am a PADI level 2 with 30+ dives and I really enjoyed these 2 dives. i can only recommend! 5*

My husband passes his Padi certification and I did a couples of dives with Kibwana It was the best choice we could have made. This guy is sooooo cool and very professional. He really makes you feel at ease and safe. His center is located in Matemwe near famous Mnemba atol which is a wonderful place to dive. But you can call him even if you dont stay in Matemwe. Prices are cheaper than other centers in Zanzibar and the service was beyond our expectations. Highly recommended!

Great diving with Kibwana. My partner and I did a double dive as OWD. Kibwana was very professional and friendly and we felt very safe with him. We saw plenty of fish species and we even got to see a turtle! Loved going the local way, small groups and a cheaper option than its competitors. He even offered us budget meals! Pickup can be arranged if needed. Matemwe can be reached by dalla-dalla. I strongly recommend him.

We wanted to take diving lessons (OW PADI) and went into this house, because nobody was trying to sell us something or taking us inside (for me thats always something good)I had every struggle with diving (nose mouth reflex, problem to equalize ,etc.) Kibwana ist a really competent, patient, friendly and creative teacher who helped me step by step to achieve the certification. Kibwana Diving is a small family, with only local employees. We had 4 good dives with them. Very friendly and helpful, they also offer a restaurant and juices if you get hungry.In terms of diving, the funds are magnificent. The hardware is slightly dated but works well. We will recommend this club if you already have some experience and autonomy in diving. The dives are very affordable compared to other clubs in the area. Thank you Kibwana!

We highly recommend the Dive Club !! The equipment is of a high standard (just like in a good club in the country) and the people on the staff are professional, calm and very nice!We dived with them for 3 days around the island of Manamba, which is very short and convenient to get to from their club. When we got out of one of the dives we saw a huge band of dolphins and they did not think twice and drove us to them with the boat so we could snorkel with them.So go diving with them and on the way also enjoy the most delicious fruits we ate in Zanzibar 😁

I had booked the diving day without knowing who I was going to dive with. When I arrived at the dive center, which is very unusual for me, in the morning, I was very surprised and thought I wont do that. Fortunately another diving couple said to me with a laugh We know exactly what you are thinking. We thought the same on our first time but these are the best dive guys ever. So I was a little reassured and ... they were right. Ive never felt so well looked after. Everything well organized and a very attentive crew. Everything was even prepared and followed up for me, so that all I had to do was check. Splendid. The diving was great and I was once again shown that you shouldnt be blinded by external appearances. With Kibwana ... again and again!

Kibwana is the owner of its dive center. He is very kind and very smiling. It was a pleasure to dive with him and then to share two meals with him in real local restaurants. The equipment is not new but functional. No problem during our 4 dives. We really had a good time, he respects nature by not rushing towards the dolphins when we cross them unlike the dolphin tours boats (dont do it, its a horror. Harassment. They prevent them from coming to breathe) And you can see them while diving while being respectful 🙏❤)We recommend the Kibwana center for experienced divers. We plunged with Kibwa in August 2019!Super experience, it is an excellent pedagogue, very friendly and especially very professional.It allowed us to spend our open water in idyllic conditions.Far from the big crowded dive clubs that abound in Zanzibar, it allowed us to do tailor-made and cheaper private dives.I highly recommend it!

There were only two of us on the boat (private!). We did two magnificent dives in mnemba for a baptism (scuba diver) on two different spots. Kibwana is perfect, very professional, calm, and gives detailed and clear explanations. He showed us the beautiful corals and fish (a stingray too!). We strongly recommend diving with him. To please nothing, many varieties of fruit cut on the boat, a treat!

Great diving with an instructor. We bought the tour from a local seller at the Melia Hotel.The trip was on Mnemba with dolphins. Snorkeling and Diving. Great diving experience with a very nice and competent team. The diving school is small and unassuming, but the warmth of the diving instructors is great! The diving groups are small, the briefing is very good and the dive spots around Mnemba are perfect for both beginners (and children too!) and experienced divers. The diving instructors speak English and French. Unreservedly recommended!By the way: above the diving school is a small and simple but very tasty restaurant that offers local dishes. Grilled fish and calamari, veggie and Swahili dishes...
