This is the first building in Dar es salaam to be built. You will have a history of the city and on the top there is the best Restaurant.
Beautifully restored, and one of Dars few old buildings you can also see from the inside. Inside there is a permanent exhibition on the history of Dar whixh is very thorough and insightful, but also remains accessible to this not familiar with Tanzanias history. They also sell some nice postcards of the city. Dont forget to ask whether you can visit their gorgeous rooftop (which can also be rented as a venue for parties). In short: must see for those visiting Dar. For those only passing through on their way to Zanzibar a perfect thing to do while waiting for the ferry, as it is just across from the ferry terminal.
A must do in Dar es Salaam. Nice terrace. Offer and service with a lot of potential. Historical building.
Cozy roof top restaurant and bar with a view of the harbor. A nice oasis in the city. The opening hours are longer than they say here on Google. The restaurant is open later than the museum.
The building is fantastic and off course it deserves a visit. My wife and I had a coffee in the cafeteria in the roof. There where you can enjoy the view and the music. The waiter was very kind the place all in all was fantastic yet the only thing that the coffee machine was broken so we couldnt have our cappuccino and 🤦♂️so we ordered the African coffee, I mean how it comes that in a fascinating place like that you dont fix the issue immediately!Anyway, I strongly recommend this place , at least for a visit 😘The guy who works in the reception was helpful and polite. We bought a souvenir from the shop , yet we couldnt see the exhibition because we were there after 17h00 so it was close.
Lovely old building and great view of the Dar harbour. Excellent service from the waitress and our breakfast was fast and tasty. Would love to come back again.
Amazing view of the port and the city, but restaurant is of normal standard
Very ancient construction and early state building in Mzizima, now called Dar es Salaam. It was built by Arabs and later Germans inherited it. It was used by Sultan Said and also a slave camp for shipments to the gulfs middle east. The area now is a museum and historical heritage building. At the roof top there is an open restaurant and other investments to support the costs of maintenance.
Is a cool place with Poets View at the roof. Its historic place. Its the first Mult storey building in Tanzania. There is historic centre to visit, you can learn more about tradition and culture
It has a very nice sea view but going to the roof you have to take stairs in which for the old person or sick person is hard but if your strong when you reach to the top it is all worth it.
Good place to visit to learn about the history of Tanzania. Highly recommend paying for a guide to enhance your experience. Added bonus - a restaurant on top!
Interesting exhibition in the old boma telling the history of Dar es Salaam through the pre-colonial, German, British and modern eras. Worth a visit, 5,000 TZS fee per person.Go to the roof for a nice view.
Not bad. Nice breeze on the rooftop and the food was reasonably priced. My fish was overcooked though
Get an expereince of the old Dar Es Salaam of 1860s at the present time. The building is not only old by itself, but it has a permanent exhibition of the evolution of Dar Es Salaam from the 17th century up to date. How the buildings were constructed, by who, when, the fate of the buildings, etc etc.... It is really worth a visit.
Nice little place near the port/ferries. Kind service and amazing food. Would definitely get the changu makange again!
This is the best place to relax, cool off the heat and grab some nice meals and drinks while enjoying the sea view and local customs!
