Went there for the buffet, we enjoyed the service, staff was very welcoming and one item which was missing on the menu was actually replaced with something similar (very rare to find such instance)

One of my fav places to go and have dinner, instead of suffering the traffic jam in the evening. BBQ, fish and chicken excellent. No alcohol but juices and tea are very good. Quality, good service and very nice ambient. Credit cards accepted. Small parking with security.

Food is delicious, but a bit too oily for my liking. Nice variety of chicken, beef, prawns, fish options. Fair prices. Spicy (not hot, but flavourful). Indoor and outdoor seating options. Great for groups. Great location in terms of proximity to other great hangout spots. Highly recommend the Poussine grilled chicken.

The place is amazing with great environment and the best BBQ. The Mbuzi Choma was scrumptious to the last bite. A must try!!!! The staff are amazing and friendly. The owners are very welcoming .. I would rate this place more than 5 stars if I could. Hospitality,food and environment just EXCELLENT!!!!!!

We stay next door to Choma Hut and the little ones are always asking to go. The food is solid and reasonably priced, but the staff is really amazing. There is a nice playground for the kiddos, and a good selection of dishes that can be vegan-ized for me. Highly recommended!!!

Lovely well lit place. Food well priced with good portion sizes. 1st time since being in Dar that the owner/manager came to welcome us to their place as well as check that everything was going well. In my books, this speaks volumes.

It is an amazing place full of little wooden hut type structures that hosts table and plastic chairs.The service is fair. The food is delicious.Its not too far away. Food portions are okay.Though the only cooling is you can depend on is natural air as the place is devoid of fans or A.COverall, definitely reccomended.

The decor and theme is traditional swahili, giving it a tasteful ambience. I especially love the vitenges that adorn the tables and roof (classic)I tried the platter and my choice of drink was madafu. It was delicious and well spiced as expected for a swahili dish.The owner came around several times to make sure you where well taken care of and satisfied.

Loved the ambiance and food is delicious and big portion. One of the MUST VISIT Place when in Dar. try the BBQ mix platter or choma platter with assorted food items.

Despite of being in Dar multiple times this was my very first time to go to Choma Hut. The first thing that caught my eyes was the sign at the entrance that said there was a prayer room available this was something i have hardly seen in a restaurant ( heart emoji)Pros: a kid friendly environment along with good atmosphere. The mishkaki was soft and tasty, the shrimp poussin was delicious and had no taste of lemon salt which i think is used in lots of food masala. The juice was not so sweet neither was it sour but a perfect balance.Cons: we got a bad waiter but the head waiter made a really quick change when he noticed it, The masala chips was too hard and the garlic pepper steak needs a little adjustment.

Not too pleased with their platter portions.ordered them take away and for the second time received a smaller portion compared to eating at the restaurant itself.Other than that, food is very delicious. Sauces are great.

Best bbq spot in Dar! The food is absolutely delicious, from the Gajjar to Suru suru to mbuzi choma. The flavour and taste is always consistent.

The food here is really good, but because Im not an outdoor person much I didnt enjoy the sitting arrangement. Otherwise its a good place for families or groups. For those with kids its wise to check out the place before you settle for a meal.

Great place with amazing food. The staff can sometimes be rude but that depends on the waiter that serves you. When i went to this place with my family a certain waitress was extremely rude and she even threw the gracious tip we left her. How disrespectful.

They started off with a bang and fantastic bbq.. this fizzled down do measly portions, dishonest staff and floating around the mediocre and average roadside grill establishment. Was very happy at first, not my top pick any more.

My favourite place 😍

Had lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The service was great and the food delicious. Ordered the Zanzibari pizza and muhogo masala as starters, followed by some crispy chicken, bbq paneer and chicken as well as chicken steak. They serve large portions which is quite filling. I would definitely recommend this place for lunch and dinner. The seating area is large and also has a small play area for kids.

BBQ whole fish, mix it with a few starter bitting sticks of Mishkaki and Nundu, over chips or Naan, are on our Fav List...Feel Happy Eating out the CHOMA way.
