I am very disappointed and appalled at the poor service we received. There were flies at the sitting area next to the pool and in their restaurant. The food was never covered. The outside area looked sticky and dirty. Our room was not cleaned properly. The table was sticky, full of what appeared to be tomato sauce residue and glass rims.We would call the waiters for service, wait 30 minutes and when we complained to the manager he said he will find someone to assist us but we had to wait an additional 15 minutes. The staff does not seem well trained with no professional etiquette. I have been to Ramada (DAR) in 2016 and had a great experience. It is definitely NOT worth the money spent and we certainly will not be back!
Located in the Mbezi beach area of the city of Dar es Salaam, Ramada resort is a wonderful place for family outings or anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. It has a large swimming pool for guests to cool off in the mostly hot and humid weather of Dar es Salaam. The sea front location of the resort gives it a cool breeze coming from the Indian Ocean, particularly in the evening. The sandy beach is nice and clean but is particularly prone to crab infestation in the evenings. The food is good, could be better though.
Came here for a Saturday evening meal. Was amazed at the beautiful pool and surroundings. The beach, unlike many others around town, was immaculate and well kept, obviously by the hotel staff. People were really enjoying their time in the pools, as well as the kiddie pool for the little ones. Our seafood platter was good, but only drawback was the very slow service. Otherwise, good food and drinks service. Enjoyable and gorgeous setting for an evening meal out!
A great place to stay but in need of improvements: No room service/food after 11 p.m. The speed of the service by the poolside needs to improve as well as the time taken for housekeeping. There was no downtime service and spraying of the room for mosquitoes.
The food was alright, the manager was awesome as I was there for an event. The only issue is that the salad that was given to me was quite over salted as thogh the ingredients were soaked in satly water before being prepared.Other than that, I enjoyed the evenng, the recepton was quite pleasant.
Pool:Massive! Runs the entire length of the outdoor seating area... most people would have their own space in the pool because of the size. Great for kids too because it isnt too deep (I dont think it goes beyond 1.5m)Lots of shaded seating too 👍🏼👍🏼Restaurant:Food is good. Mocktails and cocktails are great. A bit overpriced compared to other places of the same kind.Beach: very clean.30k entrance covers a day of swimming, access to the beach.
The ambiance of the hotel in the lobby is nice. The food from the Market hotel is amazing! And the view of the pool and beach is breathtaking at night.
Reviewing the pool and the hotels section of the beach. The fee is 30,000 to access the pool. You are given 1 towel. I think this Ramada pool is the best in Dar in terms of the fact it is huge. If you compare it with the Hyatt Regency, it can definitely compete (the Hyatt pool being the only infinity pool at a hotel in Dar). The food is OK but the pool and beach are stunning. Definitely worth coming here. I also appreciate the fact Ramada have gone to efforts to keep their section of the beach clean.
The hotel was fine & clean. The main enterance looked nice & the view to the sea is noce too. The only dislike here for me was that the restaurant takes long time to serve food, for example, Mango jouce needed around 15 mints to be served !! Also, the out side tables & seat areas did not look that clean & organized. The room were fine & the staff are nice too.
The Best Resort in Tanzania, i loved the service over there plus the resorts excellence, it has a sea view perfect staff..Really Enjoyed my stay over there!!!
Large beach area exposed for the hotel. Large swimming pool with a kids pool with and a garden. Ample outdoor seating area. Ample parking space. Wheelchair accessible paths and rooms. 24 hour room service and reception. Fitness Gym, a business centre and a boutique shop are available.Free WiFi for guests and rooms including laundry services. Most rooms have balconies.A wide range of Cuisine for your breakfast lunch dinner or in between meals. Dining in and reservations are accepted together with early bookings for accommodation. Other beach activities such as horse riding, island visits and city visits.Hotel located near ATMs and Banks, airport trips are assisted by reception.Service is quite above average time and pricing is above average $$$. Performing its best on 4star hotel category.
Overall ok. There were times they would forget my dinner order when they had an event. The worst part was the the laundry staff boss asked me for some money to help someone with transportation while trying to unlock my door. How is that my concern and why would u ever enter my room. Lastly , they made u wear a mask to get food not complaining but they did not have hand sanitizer requirements lol. Ok? So do better with staffing issues. Would never have posted this but that guy from head maid arrives opened my door and asked me for money. I gave it with my left hand hope it annoyed him as he did me. Thx
Fantastic architecture & scenery! Nice food served by friendly and lovely chefs! Awesome reception!
If you are thinking to visit Dar es salaam, Ramada hotel is the place for you to stay. they have good quality rooms, a coast, professional staff. their quality inter continental dishes make them stand out. Edmund(trainee) was very helpful throughout my stay, he is definitely a guy you want to talk. he will make you feel like you are at home.
I attended a reception there. The place was awesome but a staff was rude. I wanted to go to the prayer room to explore and I was told off by him.
You can enjoy your time on hotel swimming pool, eat nice breakfast with some local meals in menu. Problems appear in the evening when you want to eat something in hotel restaurant and at night when you want to sleep but you hear loud music from Night club which is located near the hotel. It s a pity, because the bed in room are very comfortable.
Nice place. But poor internet connection. Even mt phone internet was not working properly on ground and first floors. But works properly when you go yonthe car parking.
We see the ocean 🌊 from our room window..Very clean and good sevice provided by hotel management.have big car pArking and maximum 100 feet distance to enter into the beach.
Great hotel....great ambience... beautiful location....good food....need to improve bar service especially in the evening
Very nice view but could not sit in the balcony because it was not clean. Rooms are also not clean. Room service is ok!
The bars menu needs to be updated. No beers on tap, no coke, very overpriced. You could make so much money if you just had what was on your menu.
What a beautful place to visit on planet earth the services and management u offer are hard to resist Ramada u made my holiday awesome the taste of your meal forever in my memory
Service is shocking!!!! There is no restaurants like advertised on website. You need to order from your room from a basic menu.
Really great place.Beautiful, clean, peaceful.Beach view was gorgeous and the staff made my experience so pleasurable.Pool closed at 6pm which I found to be way too early. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay.
Very very bad seafood and service. It takes ages to be served bad food and plastic cup with untrained waiters. It was a bad experience for me and my wife
Came here for a one day visit to enjoy pool n oceanside. Unfortunately service is almost non existent. Only after phone call to the hotel to send someone with a menu and later again to take orders.Tried food. Starters. Chicken wings and spring rolls. The best on food was the decoration under the spring rolls, which was plain, raw cabbage. Chicken wings were had charcoal taste. Probably held warm the whole day or so. Spring rolls were ok-ish but thats it.Fresh juice...pineapple. It was more water than fresh pineapple juice. All ashtrays on the poolside were full.Again to mention that no service available and even after phone call it took 10min till someone arrived. We leave now early. This is no 4 star service.Any street food location has better service.Pool had plastics and paper accumulated but before i could ask for cleaning hotel staff started fishing it out.Since i am a happy and polite person we enjoyed our stay making fun for the service and quality of drinks and food so we leave happy.Hotel management: do something. Not coming again!
BEST OTEL IN DAR ES SELAM. NICE STAFF, GOOD FOOD & BREAKFAST. 👌
Overall experience was bad ,though i had positive vibe entire time.First , after being at premises for more than 30mins without service,i had to call reception to prompt a request for waiter , which took another 10minutes to service.I ordered orange juice, but it was totally disappointing as the fruit was not ripe at all, so i had a somewhat green watered down juice. As it was two of us, we ordered appertizers which again were disappointing as the chicken wings were burnt, wrong chewy potatoes for fries, spring rolls not being uniform. At the end of the day , we had to leave cause only time service was fast is when bill was being brought forward.
I recently stayed there for one night in a King Suite. Its a well maintained property considering the Pandemic and Global tourism industry. They can do lot better1. The swimming pool closes at 6pm and opens at 8am. Their property is east facing and its quiet hot during day time. The best time to use the pool is after 4pm. If they management could keep the pool open till 9pm it will be great2. The whole duration of my stay I was unable to get thru Room dining. I had to dial reception and face delays. Although once the order placed the service was good. Not to complain but there was a bulb missing in the ceiling. If someone pays for a suite I assume the room needs to be checked before allotmentHygiene - full marks
Nice location, been here in 2015 and not sure what has changed but i feel the change. Breakfast is awesome in the mornings but lunch and dinner you forced to sit outside the restaurant because they do not do buffets thus cannot use the tables...Reception upon entering the hotel is doom and gloom, you do not feel welcomed, feels like entering a regular express hotel just head in and to your room! I remember in 2015, you get a wet towel and a complimentary juice upon arrival and this time nothing!
Totally satisfied with my stay. Nice grounds, beach and restaurants. Will be back.
We went to Ramada hotel many times because it has the best swimming pool among other hotels in this area, also it is not crowded and noisy and it has good view. Unfortunately I can’t give more stars because of the prices and service Ramada hotel delivers. They charge 40 000sh for swimming pool per person(compare to other places most of the time is around 10 000). I don’t mind paying but I would like to receive a better service and better quality for this price. Two weeks ago we went there on Sunday. We were by the pool but non of the waiters came even once. I need to call her to ask for menu and it was after more than one hour. We ordered beer and and juice and to bring beer took 30 min, juices even longer. We asked if we could talk to management but nobody came to talk to us. We order pizza which I would say was decent but really overpriced. They recently changed they menu and I should say I think it is the most expensive restaurant in all Dar es Salaam, most probably higher than Hyatt. I haven’t tried other meals from they new menu but the food they served a couple month ago was really very bad quality. So my point is the prices is high but you don’t get good quality food and good service for what you are paying.
I decided to take a break from the city life and check myself into Ramada. The service was good and staff were friendly. They didnt have the greatest food in the world but it was OK . I enjoyed spending time at the pool and the beach. They could improve on their food selection as it was more Indian than continental.
The place was ok but they need to have an African cuisine. Good for conferences but those looking for fun...mmm no!
It is a nice place, on the shores of Indian Ocean. You can enjoy the nice breeze and feel the warmth of sea breeze. The place is quiet and I can recommend it. On the new years eve, I attended the gala which was accompanied with a good music from a prominent singer and the band. It was a nice setup but they could do better on their customer service, I had to hassle to find the drinks for myself. We called the waiter many times but we had no luck. Going to the bar we found it closed and they promised that the waiter us at the table but no one noticed that we needed service. The food was good, and they had variety of meals and they were tasty. But I think they could do better on their customer service. It wasnt good! But definitely will come again!
Everything about this hotel was great: beautiful room, tasty food, friendly staff and a perfect location! The room was spacious and had a balcony overlooking the beach. I highly recommend the hotel to anyone traveling to Dar es Salaam.
Its a nice place but their prices are ridiculously
Amazing and quiet place, waves sound and water clashes sounds made my day perfect plus the coolest breeze my day was waoooh
Customer service is good. The view is awesome. Place is neat and clean.Food is satisfactory. Menu does not match the standard of the resort especially if you are just there to relax and have a swim at the pool/beach for the day. The food and drinks are so expensive 😩 and not satisfying. The last time we went there in December, they had pizza on the menu and bbq chicken. As of August 2020, it wasnt there anymore 😑
The customer service over there is so bad , the employees are nom cooperative and delaying in any matters asked by the customers
The nicest hotel you can visit when near Mbezi beach area
The pool side is really nice and the staff are friendly. On the price side of things it much higher than others around which serves a bit as a crowd control mechanism i guess. The beachfront however was not that inviting as you had lots of debris maybe from the rain. The WiFi didnt seem to work by the poolside. All in all its a cool poolside
If you are looking for good service and food. Please save yourself unnecessary headaches and avoid this place. As an invited guest to a friends birthday dinner. I was left apalled at how a place this exclusive and nice looking could excuse such poor service. How many things cpuld go wrong in a space of 4 hours?1. It took 3 hours (19:30-22:35) to make food for a group of 6. We were the only people in the restaurant the whole time. No one came in before or after.2. Once the food came, the tenderloin steak (it wasnt steak at all).. it was all bloody even after being told i wanted well done...3. The steak was taken back to make it better and came back charred. Its incredibly tough to actually burn steak but they accomplished it. I was too hungry to wait another 3 hours so i endured it.4. Billing time and items that were not taken appear on the bill. 2 juices had officially become 2 glasses of wine. (It took talking to management to have them realize this wasnt accurate)5. I dont know if Mr. Joel who served us was having a bad day or was just tired but there is no need to be mad at customers (the only ones that night) who just want decent service. Nothing more. We werent asking unreasonable things. We just wanted food and clean utensils to eat with. Nothing out of the ordinary for the prices being paid.6. Mr.James and one other at the payment counter was nice enough to apologize and let me feel welcome for the first time in an establishment i had just spent the better part of what was supposed to be a birthday celebration night...as i was settling the bill. Conclusion: to whom it may concern, improve service because your place has actually decent location advantages over so many. But no one can come back to a place they feel labored to even meet the basic standards. (If someone spends half a million in your establishment, they should at least leave glad that they will come back...)
Very clean pool and beach and great staff and service
Beautiful views!! I highly recommend getting a room with an ocean view. Opening up my balcony doors and listening to the ocean was amazing. If there was an issue with the room, it was addressed quickly. I also recommend going out at night during low tide and enjoying the breeze and being able to walk out a lot further. Also, inquire about going to Mbudya Island. It’s a quick boat ride from the beach and the prettiest place I’ve ever been!
Nice view service and rooms too 👍🏼😀😉😊
Its a very nice place to with your family
The hotel was excellent, the food and the staff are wonderful. Felt really at home and secure inside the hotel grounds. I would highly recommend the stay and enjoy the pool. The breakfast was wonderful.
Its so lovely and dopeIve enjoyed to be such a place.Price is moderate but depend on room or service youll select. but generally the place is so fresh, romantic, lovable, and everything dope. You can have a perfect view of the part of Indian ocean and Part of Dar es salaam city. At night youll enjoy the city night view with a lot of awesome lights on.Nice swimming pool for both adult and children.
This place is so awesome,I had the best experience while staying the, its the place to be....,the service is great and the food is amazing
Great place to be but needs to upgrade standards ,
It expensive but its a good place and wonderful
Ramada exceeded my family and Is expectations greatly. In addition to great staff and spacious infrastructure, Ramada had access to one of the cleanest beaches we have ever been to. The pool is guarded by life guards and the food menu was comprehensive yet delicious. We especially enjoyed breakfast. The management also accommodated our late check out request. There are tons of things they did just right. If youre planning to stay here; dont think on it, just book and enjoy!
Nice place but it lacks customer care.
Absolutely beautiful and just heavenly to watch the beach. It is very clean and the staff were perfect. Excellent customer service. At night you can go to the bar on the first floor and watch the beach. The pool was great too. Only issue I had was the AC going off repeatedly but I guess this is because they might be using a solar system. They were very helpful in fixing quickly. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and the breakfast was good too!
Poor service. Too expensive with very little to offer
TLDR: Pretty good location, undermined by really awful service.I was with my family in the Ramada. First, I understand the time we are in and the services may be delayed, limited menu and an overall limited general services, but that does not mean or give excuses for an uncaring and rude staff. We first entered the Ramada to go through security with a stern “bags here” as if we were the reason for the whole security system and after going through, the exchange ended with a “your welcome”, as If that unwelcoming feeling was something to be thankful about. Reception was just “going through the motions” with overall disinterest. We got to our rooms, and they were nice with good beds and bath, but we wanted to see if we could get beach side rooms. Told 50$ a room and it’d be ready in 10 minutes. Great, but we would have not gotten the upgrade of we knew that it would instead take 3 hours to prepare the rooms. Again the location and building was good, but we had to repeatedly get and remind services for everything and anything including cleaning the rooms we payed to upgrade. Rooms finally ready and now it’s it’s Getting dark ( view is gone) dinner time, great, we had lunch and it was pretty good. The difference between lunch and dinner was the huge menu, which in normal context is good, but we asked if anything is unavailable (because most hotels during this time limit there menus in order to uphold quality); no okay. 20 minutes later, and we are in the lobby because the dining area is closed and drinks come out. An hour later, okay we aren’t waiting in the lobby anymore and say we’ll take dinner in our rooms. An hour and a half, it finally arrives. Almost 3 hours, this is why the menus at other places are limited. Food was cold ( of course) but also you could tell some of the seafood wasn’t fresh (soft, mushy, falls apart). Overall, the staff was cold, slow to action, and unsatisfying for any hotel experience. Any great location, room, food, building can be brought down by bad service.
Nice hotel near the sea, breakfast is not bad.Dont forget to take mosquito repellent with you when you go.rooms are nice and air conditioner works well
I like the hotel with a white sand beach and viewing a vessels at the deep sea
Cold reception. Charged us $100 to upgrade to waterside room in an empty resort; promised in 10 minutes. Took over 3 hrs. Ordered dinner at 645 pm. Left restaurant after waiting over an hr. Cold, spoiled food delivered to our room at 930 pm. Uncaring staff. Asked speak manager, he’s not in. Go elsewhere.
A wonderful place.I love the rooms, beach, food, the arts on the walls, clean walkway and the whole architecture. For the buffet, there are many to choose from. Continental to local foods. I enjoyed the Swahili meat soup and will have one each morning. The rooms are well cleaned each day. There is a big screen cable television, kettle, variety of tea provided in arrival and restocked bottles of water everyday, iron with an ironing board, a safe, reading lamps, and comfortable beds with pillows. There are many rooms for conferences and meetings. The drinks and pastries served during coffee breaks are deliciousThe swimming pool is warm in the evening. There is a lifeguard always on a standby. Many seats to relax and there is a pool bar. Pool towels are cleans. There is a pool for children as wellAbove all, the staff are welcoming and provide great service.
The place is very nice and you surely can refresh alot but there are few problem in serving food where there are no places of hand washing and waiters insist in washing hands in the washroom which that is not healthy, and so i suggest that they should improve that in there possible ways
0 stars! This is the most disgusting room I have never seen in my entire life!Outrageous!Cockroach on the floor of the toilets, brown stains on the carpet and on the curtains! Absolutely disrespectful and unacceptable specially during this world pandemic, no cleaning or sanitary measures taken.
Great hotel at the beach of Dar es Salaam! Service was great, rooms clean and view over the ocean amazing. Pool and beach area fun to chill out. Not too close to the airport but to most of the restaurants and sight seeing places downtown. Would recommend this place for short trips, not for longer stays.
Very beautiful hotel. Had a very welcoming song performance in arrival. Very happy faces and ever smiling staff. I particularly love the homely feel of the rooms. Very personalized and design shows well thought out concept. Home away from home. Love the restaurant set up, fabulous variety of foods that come out of the kitchen. This isnt a hotel for the mediocre. If you prefer class and world class service, Ramada Resort is the pace to go. It may be humid outside, but it is fresh and cool inside.Thank you for the most memorable stay.
Best one ever. Classy
Very nice place I like it which is best place to come
A good place to bring family
A very courteous and cooperative team full of hospitality and sense of customer care. I was a coordinator of high delegation, group of around 20 - they have managed to surprise us beyond our expectations. Well done Ramada Resort! I cant wait till my next visit already!!
A lovely place to go and have fub with the family. It has a good view of the ocean and in addition an exquisite swimming pool
Great hotel. The view from my room is amazing and the swimming pool and rooms are great. I would recommend it for families or for couples. They offer a great variety of services. Obviously the prices are high for Tanzania but competitive with international standards.
I have been here once before. I love Ramada. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The view of the sea from the sea view rooms is unhampered. The swimming pool is heated and stylish. The lighting inside the pool give a romantic view at night. The breakfast is superb and the staff are courteous. Just one improvement needs to be made i.e. have a Sauna and Steam Bath.
Looks 5 star with a one star service!!Waited one hour for a service them placed simple drinks waited another hour dinner took two hours to get..all customers where completely upset and complaining... horrible service. Come here for the view..Go enjoy dinner with great service food and prices down the road at White Sands..
Perfect for a weekend gate away with family
I was by the poolside for a meal and drinks last night and a drunk customer walked up to me and became physically and verbally abusive. I reported him to security and asked that he be removed. That didnt happen so I left instead, fearing further abuse and feeling uncomfortable. Very very disappointed with how that incident was handled.
Beach front hotel with great modern architecture and an amazing pool. The rooms are tasteful furnished with the dinning room having great light from the large Windows. During high season though the customer service is a bit wanting but all in all a great hotel to visit.
Place is located next to the beach. Around 30min drive from the airport (DAR). Staff was friendly.Outside: is just amazing with swimming pool (also for kids) and beach volleyball. At the time I was there no disturbance from locals who want to sell you things while walking on the beach. Very quiet.Inside: the rooms are equipped with all the things you need. Large tv, bed is comfortable with soft sheets and kettle with tea and coffee etc. Free of charge you can request several amenities like toothbrush. The inside was nice, but not special.
Overall, nice condition. But there was a problem in air conditioning during daytime. It only works at night time during my staying. Staff also slow for every processing and double charged my payment. Except those things, everythings are beautiful. Especially breakfast and scenery is really wonderful.
Terrible place i wont give them not even half star. prices of food and drinks extremely high and service is worst than 1 star hotels if this hotel was in America i well file big complain to BBB and I would ask for complete refund.
Poor customer service. Food not good.
Beautiful, peaceful place. I stayed there for 6 nights in a junior suite on 3rd floor.Breakfast is well presented with plenty options to choose what to eat on different days. Service manger Robert Anthony is well trained and quick to answer all your questions politely.First room I checked in had noises coming from the kitchen and upon my request they moved me to another room which has large visible crack in the tv wall.On one morning around 2-3am, false fire alarm woke up the whole Hotel and I could not go back to sleep for the rest of the night after they fixed the alarm on about 15 minutes. Shockingly, fire alarm went off again during the 2nd night but the were quick to fix it this time, about 5 minutes. When you think it was all over it happens again the 3rd time and again during the night. This was like a night mare and the worst part Hotel administration did not even send a single letter the rooms to apologize.I would expect better communication and level of service from such a well known name but it did not happen.
The slick design of the hotel lobby and first level floor bar creates a welcoming and relaxing environment. I really appreciate the attention to detail in the cuisine and beach side layout. The man-made jetty is a slight stretch, but they do make up for it in customer service and their overall hotel facilities, available to the general public, is of high grade. Most importantly the security measures and checks have been taken into serious consideration as compare to the other surround hotels.
The place is nice and quite and actually the best for any type of meeting with friends, family or company
Friendly staff. Clean modern rooms. Would recommend the sea view. The buffet needs more variety. Drinks are a bit pricey. Would recommend sticking to the pool, (they have a large pool) the ocean is not clean.
The rooms are really good but the room service and breakfast can be made better. In particular the staff taking orders for room service need to be more familiar with the menu and the menu items listed need to be available. With regards to the breakfast, the hot items need to be kept hot.
A classy beach front hotel located at along mbezi beach in Dar es salaam. Ramada resort has modern architecture and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. It offers a good breakfast variety. Staff are super friendly and helpful. The hotel is a conference/meeting hosting facility so lunch at the restaurant may be crowded. The restaurant has a beautiful sea view. The buffet lunch is excellent with variety of choice. The hotel has a swimming pool overlooking the ocean and has outdoor sitting near the swimming pool with breathtaking sea view that offers a serene working environment for those on business travel. The hotel is slightly pricy compared to hotels nearby offering similar facilities. Boat riding to the nearby islands can be accessed from the nearby service vendors.
The hotel is along the beach. From the hotel you can visit Mbudya Island is about 30 min. The hotel have best rooms, big car parking , CCTV Surveillance Cameras. Also there is swimming pool, and place for children to play. delicious pizza with fresh juice. They do have good customer services. In hotel they accept all mode of payments including VISA and MasterCard
Best managed beach for beach-goers.A nice hotel.Nice service.
