The Hotel staff were very pleasant, professional and friendly. The room and healthy environment was appealing and I appreciate the care taken to sanitise the different areas and to provide a comfortable and safe stay. I really enjoyed the steak and the accompaniments and cant wait to have it again during my next stay.

I first stayed at the Serena Hotel as well as the Breezes beach club in Zanzibar for the first 2 weeks of my stay in Tanzania in early December, than moved to the Holiday inn for a change of scenery, and what a difference between the three. While the former’s hotel staff were polite and courteous they lacked sincerity. The genuine caring experience I received from each and every staff at the Holiday inn was exceptional .The manager, Pravin, his front desk staff Farhana, Zawadi, Grace and many more, give you an above and beyond experience that the other hotels just did not.I also think that many of their room amenities are way better than the hotels in Dar I have stayed at. For a curly hair haired Canadian you need a strong hotel dryer and they have an excellent one. Their irons which I can never do without whilst travelling are of good quality whilst the others just cheap out and you are constantly having to ask for newone. Their executive lounge is way better than the Serena and the list can go on.I am a seasoned traveller and have stayed at many a hotels but this is one experience I shall not forget.Thank you Holiday Inn, Dar es salaam.

I loved the stay there with family.Proximity to CBD Is amazing..The rooms are well ventilated and air conditioned,and well cleaned..We always preferred take outs and exploring the dar food and different locations.. which were amazing.Pizzas though need some extra work..We utilised the pool and its very private and only for hotel guests.They offer some daily shuttles to the beach if around for leisure and that was great.We definitely enjoyed our stay. Though they denied us a late check out.

This Hotel is old but is in a great location with some lovely amenities like the pool and jacuzzi on the 3rd floor. Although the jacuzzi needed to be cleaned and the water treated, the pool area was a welcomed oasis in the centre of town. The room and common area cleanliness was above average and the the staff was friendly. The manager on staff went out of his way to make sure I had what I needed. My only real complaint other than some minor maintenance issues was my check in. After they allowed me to change from 2 double beds to a single bed the room they gave me actually belonged to someone else. Other than that taking 20 minutes to fix upon my arrival, everything else was lovely.

Very nice 👌 hotel in town, I real love the customer caring is of high quality, welcoming smiles and polite language to customers. ... also there High quality services, all of the above reasons makes me to visit every weekend just for chilling, buying foods and drinks. The holel stuff was excellent the room was clean and their food was very good. The was safe because the were observing social distancing sanitizing and wearing masks which makes the place safe to stay during this time of the pandemic Covid 19. The rooms were sprayed before entering and wearing of gloves upon taking breakfast. The stay was safe and comfortable.

Anticipating guests needs is key ! Have your staff interact with the guest or do a proper brief regarding your property upon check in ! That way they can tell what the guest likes are ! Have the guests profile records in your systems too !

The hotel is nice. Restaurant and room service were good though slow to serve. Room was nice and spacious. Nice music was played in the common area. The breakfast was the only thing I didn’t really like.

It was a typical stay. The staff as always was warm and friendly. The reason this stay was fantastic was actually after I checked out. Christopher and all the staff went completely out of their way to make sure I madr it to the airport on time. There was heavy raining and most of the roads were flooded. The traffic was backed up for hours. I was going to miss the flight. The staff found the only way possible and I was off on a pikipiki and my luggage on another. It was an adventure. I owe the staff a huge thanks and I cant wait to see them again.

Holiday Inn has always been my most recommended hotel in Dar Es Salaam - City Centre. It has always been a comfort zone for me.The customer service have a good value for the arrival guests and departing guest. The rooms has always been amazing, always. The meals are super amazing with no regrets. The roof-top bar has an amazing view with tranquility.

Very hospitable staff. A special mention of Mr. Pravin Thakare who is really very good in customer service and customer management. He is very humble but at the same time very professional.

Best family hotel. The customer service to children is amazing! All of the staff were super friendly to us and mostly to our 1 year old baby girl. They have a baby chair, baby center in the dining area at the first floor but also more special was the manager who played baby shark and other childrens songs while we were having dinner. Thats special and stood out to us. We would def. stay at holiday inn again! Oh, they do have a live band on certain days on the rooftop! Just marvelous!

Holiday inn Dar es Salaam is awesome, location is fantastic. But for me, whats stands out among other hotels i have stayed at, is their awesome breakfast and caring professional staff. The chef was so caring that she personally came to our table to serve us chocolate donuts which my kids loved. The receptionists, have a warm personality and know what they are doing, so polite that you want to keep talking to them. Housekeeping is spot on. I just love holiday inn, it has never disappointed me

I was pleased to stay at the HI Dar Es Salaam. As a guest I felt looked after by concierge, bar and restaurant staff. The property is going through an upgrade but at no time did the work interfere with the stay. Rooms were very comfortable and quiet. Food options were numerous and I took advantage of sundowner drinks and food on the rooftop bar, and ate dinner in the restaurant on the ground floor. As I had an early departure, the kitchen prepared a breakfast box that was filling. Would definitely stay again.

Thank you again to HI staff for creating a good atmosphere during my last stay. The service; even in Corona times, is excellent and i enjoyed my stay. The Hi is the right place in town for the business traveler. I will come back.

Considering the price we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were so hospitable, friendly and professional. The breakfast buffet was delightful and delicious. We also had room service, again, delicious. I would stay here again if I was passing through the city.

I had a bad first impression of the hotel as i didnt get good experience with the driver who picked me at the airport as well as the evening reception staff who did my check in. I was not even asked if i needed help to bring my things up in my room. Hotel staff should be more friendly and create a welcoming atmosphere. But the reception staff during the day was better. A lady named Laiya was very kind and assisted me in all my needs. Hotel was centrally located and it was easy to move around using the hotel transpo services. Hotel rooms are good. It is clean and has all the basic necessities.

The staff of this hotel were outstanding from the check in receptionist to the concierge who was very knowlagebale about shopping and transport and the General Manager who was kind and considerate and very helpful when I needed to find bank on a Saturday afternoon. I will definately bring my family here to stay. The transfer to the resort was also a really pleasant excursion which I really really loved.

I was at the hotel for business purposes. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The entire hotel is clean and neat. The beds and pillows are like fluffy clouds. Best sleep I had in a week. I was amazed at the service received. The food is great. I asked for a lunch box to be prepared for the next day. Food was on time and delicious. The cost was very reasonable. I loved the pool area with the chairs and foot rests. Breakfast had a wide variety of food. Too much to even taste all of it, but everything I had was wonderful. 10/10

Every thing was excellent except we had booked morning alarm as we wanted to catch the early flight but the gentleman before retiring from his duty just noted down on the piece of paper but forgot to inform the person taking charge from him.It was good that we had fixed morning alarm on mobile phone so could get up in time and left for the airport. When we asked the lady on reception why the morning wake up call was not given, her answer was it was not booked.Otherwise over all experience is excellent.

Front desk staff was very cheerful and helpful throughout my stay at the Holiday Inn in Dar arsalam. It was my first time visiting Tanzania and had my fears being in a new country but the staff immidiately felt at home right at check in. I had come on a long 22 hour flight and was tired, the check in process was fast and the staff was very considerate they even offered me a drink which I think was really commendable. My stay was comfortable, I felt safe and secure. I would recommend it to anyone.

The room was clean and fresh, especially the linens. A very good quality bed. The work area was functional and the internet through the Ethernet cable connection was excellent. The wireless connection worked but the constant logging in was frustrating.We loved the rooftop bar and restaurant. However, the service was incredibly slow. The food was good to excellent and the price was good.I didnt use the pool as it was too small for laps or exercise.

Hotel Double charged us for our one night stay and we did not get our refund as yet. It has been weeks. When we got to the hotel prior checking into room , the lobby matts and room floor was smelling very damp.

The hotel is run down and even the rooms that have supposedly been refurbished have very cheap wood fixtures. The bathroom including toilets and shower are very cheap in quality. The entire hallway on my floor has carpets that are old and give off an incredible smell which permeates through the rooms. The toilet paper is cheap and as such has a rough texture. The price I paid for the room was 4 star but the experience was 1 star. The aesthetics of the room

This was a lovely hotel to rest in after a long plane trip from overseas, and before further travel inland. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful, providing advice where to change money etc, and facilitating transport.The room was comfortable, with great view, and made it easy to feel relaxed.

Great service, overall during my stay. However, the 10th floor where I stayed, had occasional irritated noice from the top floor during the night (appeared to be due to renovation works). Water splash was common anytime I needed to flush the toilet.

I travel a lot, about a week every month for years now, and read many bad reviews of the place so I wasnt expecting a lot.The Internet was mostly superb, with a few patches of bad.The room was indeed a bit musty but air conditioning fixes that and it was very comfortable.TV was good, service was good, breakfast was good and hot.Taxis readily found, central to the city, but the area is safe and close to restaurants.Gym good, pool too small for me.In short, I enjoyed my stay.

I stayed for one night at the Holiday Inn in Dar. The guest room was nice. It was particularly suitable for a kind of business traveler like me. The desk and the chair was more comfortable to work even than my office. The internet connection was good. The food and the service at the restaurant was fairly good.The hotel location is in the city center and therefore it is a bit noisy. The roof top bar and lounge was also a bit noisy and unattractive for a senior citizen like me. Youngsters might like it.

The hotel is a little tired looking but is still a great location and good value for money.Dont expect a resort swimming pool, its not that kind of place - I wouldnt use the pool that is there.Roof top bar and restaurant is an easy place to unwind at the end of the day but order food early as it seems to take a while to make.Overall the staff are friendly , the place is clean (By East African standards) be aware that in rush hour, the traffic in and out of this central area is crazy, it can take an hour to get the 12Km from the airport.There is a Cell / Microwave tower across the road that seems to be almost directly facing the main rooms

The service is great, the rooms are amazing and the quality of food is also very good. They have an amazing set of breakfast buffet. its in the heart of the city and many places you can visit are at a walkable distance.

The reception at the airport was very good. the driving was comfortable. The welcome was warm, could have helped with welcome drinks and mints. The stay was comfortable. Staff was very helpful except for the time when I was referred to Business Centre where I would pay for typing a document. On departure the packed breakfast was excellent!

We planned to stay the first night after arrival and the last two nights of our vacation in this hotel. I was a little worried when I read some of the reviews before booking HI in Dar Es Salaam. However, on arrival we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful staff at the reception. We even got a very early check-in, which we really appreciated after a night on the plane.I would not really care if I was greeted by acknowledging any status but everybody constantly thanked me for the continous patronage of IHG hotels. So if you require that, you get it. When shown the room, it was pretty much what I expected in a HI. Which is exactly why I choose it. The room was clean, the AC worked (kind of important in Dar) and the WiFi connection was very reliable. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The location is perfect for a stroll to the fish market and the inner city. The free shuttle service to the beach resort is really helpful and very convenient, especially when you take the boat shuttle from there to Mbudya island later and spend the day on an uninhabited island.To sum that up, we were really happy with our stay.

The personnel has been very helpful and up to their tasks. Good hospitality people. However the building is not up to standard. The shower for exemple looks like it missed its refurbishment. In the hall you get the impression the aircon noses are going the fall on you fron the ceiling,....

This was a very nice hotel with excellent food service, both for breakfast downstairs and upstairs at the rooftop bar and restaurant. My only complaint is the air conditioning units werent adjustable and on our last night, room 609, the unit was leaking on the floor. I made housekeeping aware (I think... I dont speak swahili and she hopefully understood what I was showing her!)

Had a week of professional work in Dar and stayed at the Holiday inn where I received excellent services. From my arrival from the airport, was received received and assisted to settle in. Had four good nights of productive work and rest!Room exceptionally clean and quiet, food good and room services excellent. Patronised several of other services offered by hotel and had good experiences.Staff assisted with departure formalities when checking out. Requested assistance with early morning check-out and printing of boarding passes and was granted with smiles. Staff always willing and ready to listen and assist.Great hospitality

Visited the beer garden at holiday inn last week. lovely interiors and setting. great ambiance. Not too pleased by the service though. It was a weekday night, there werent many customers but waiters seemed lost and confused. we had some cakes and fresh juices. It was ok. cake seemed a bit dry, probably not fresh considering it was a weekday.none the less, views from this roof top are amazing and im definitely looking forward to visit again hoping service will be better.

Hotel is terribly outdated and needs an urgent update. The food quality is simply poor. Rooms etc not from this time anymore. Security not up to standard. Non residents can enter the hotel unseen and go up to the rooms without any issues. Hotel staff is very courteous and helpful. Free transportation was provided to any outside restaurant in the city.

This is a Lovely hotel, centrally located in cbd. The staff are amazing ! Very helpful and always assist with a smile!

The breakfast was good and the gym is ok but the swimming pool is like 10 ft long and 3 ft high all through. The games like pool and foosball can only be played from five pm to 11 pm. Not much entertainment. Only good for business.

Our stay was marred by the things that didnt work in this hotel. The pool deck was flooded with water even though the pool was only the size of your bathtub. The driver didnt show up for the pickup even though it was booked a month ago. The wifi was incredibly slow if you managed to log on - the cable connection works fine if you brought your own router.The staff on the other hand were amazing. Check in at the front desk was efficient and fast. The duty manager, Memory, was patient and kindly offered to pay for the hotel transfer. We were offered access to the lounge on the 10th floor which unfortunately did not have complimentary alcohol and even charged more for a beer than the rooftop bar.

We stayed during xmas. We had been disappointed by their sister hotel and when we cancelled our stay, they recommended holiday inn. We expected it to be as bad, being of the same company but were surprised. It was all we wanted for our holiday! Clean comfortable rooms and gud food. Awesome breakfast. They also hv a very gud and humble chef ready to do anything to make ua stay memorable. He cooked perfect food for my toddler.

When we went into the lounge Grace was so helpful and friendly. She made the experience so relaxing and welcoming. But the food and drinks in the lounge were below average. The hostess at the Breakfast was also very nice and remembered us when we came back a few days later. The price is very expensive for a Holiday Inn. I am sure there are local places that are a lot cheaper but for the first time we wanted to go to a place that is familiar. Breakfast is average to what is in Africa.

The new Beer Garden at site of the helipad is an Amazing place with a 360° view. The sunrise and sunset are very beautiful. The service is very good. The drinks n food are very reasonable. There is also a local band playing nice music. Value for money. Nice place for an evening. Recommend the place

We were in a group of about 22 including 3 children.For most of us it was our first visit to Dar es salaam.We made the right choice of staying at the Holiday Inn City Centre,which was recommend by our host in Dar.Centre of town and the hotel has good facilities to offer for leisure and business.The staff is very helpful and on hand for any information.Manager Mr. Pravin also very helpful.The bedrooms are clean and comfortable with few connecting rooms for children.Would highly recommend the hotel to all

I enjoyed my stay, and was well looked after by the caring, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent, and I enjoyed dinner on the rooftop at very reasonable prices! I would stay here again, and appreciaste all the IHG membership benefits, including free WIFI. The downtown location is good, with a short taxi ride or 15min walk to the AZAM fast ferry service to Zanzibar. While the hotel rooms are a bit dated, they are comfortable, clean and with all amenities and good lighting. Thanks for a pleasurable stay!

I have stayed here many times, mainly due to it being convenient for my meetings, but also to get my IHG points. Overall the hotel needs improvement in many areas, firstly starting with the rooms. I always get upgraded, which is great, this time to a suite, but the executive rooms are better, as the design of the suites is poor.The wifi connection is very poor and keeps cutting off in the rooms as the signal strength is so weak. The ac is very noisy and is not that efficient.The rooms look old, the furniture is old and the carpets dirty/stained.Breakfast selection is poor, and there never appears to be any orange juice. Tea is served in probably the smallest cup in the world, would be better if a pot was given.I will stay again for the reasons given, but I would expect to see improvements, as there do not appear to have been any over the last 5-6 years.

I recently spent nearly 4 weeks at this hotel. The overall experience with minor glitches was excellent. The front desk staff, the bell boys, the restaurant staff and room service staff were very nice, hospitable, and friendly and went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. the hotel is also centrally located within the city center and that made it very convenient for me to visit various places of my interest. The hotel rooftop is alos a very pleasant location for relaxing in the evening.

The ladies behind the counter were professional and helpful although the check in was delayed but they took their time to explain why. Breakfast is always great although it would be nice to have beef or chicken instead of ham at the eggs station..so we Muslims can enjoy the eggs too.

( eggs cold, milk warm, sausage un-seasoned taste like hot dog.Dont what ever you do take a shower/ bath the smell from thewater will stay with you.Hotel needs to install a filter system for the water into the hotel.However, I must say hotel needs to have a pick-up system from the airport to hotel. The cost for a taxi is very expense $40 dollarsbut hotel will charge $25 to return.

The executive lounge was disappointing. Water and sodas were locked up and you were charged. Old equipment and water kettle need to be thrown out. The room was comfortable but the food and beverage section was very low standard. It should be upgraded. I recommend the hotel for a convenient short stay and because of the staff friendliness and location to downtown. If you are looking for comfort - this is not the hotel.
