The hotel was really nice, clean, and had great amenities. There was a pool but we did not have enough time to use it. The food we ordered for dinner was okay, nothing to brag about, but the buffet breakfast was good with a lot of options. I wish they had more local items on the menu.
A real hotel vibe. The rooms were correct and the food also. Good location
The room was very beautiful. They decorate the room especially for our honeymoon. The food also was great. Excellent hotel to wait for the safari
It one best place to be in Arusha they have Best room . very cool place .
An excellent place to dine. Place with exquisite environment. Place where you would love to go and enjoy.
Amazing hotel! We were there only a short time but it was a beautiful hotel. Amazing service was provided. Food was outstanding and I loved the attention to detail and ambiance of the hotel.Definitely recommend staying here for sure! Maybe I can come back again someday.
I came here for breakfast after having the place recommended by a friend. I was amazed by the service it was top notch. Meshack and Sara were fantastic over the phone and inperson to make sure I have all my needs met. The breafast selection was unique and I thoroghly enjoyed my meal. It was a breakfast buffet. I espexcially enjoyed their spinach pancakes. Truly one of the best and professional hotels in Arusha. I will definitely be coming back. #SwahiliCuisine
Awesome ambience awesome service food was good too
This was our 1 night pit stop before heading out on Safari. Very clean, modern hotel. The food served at dinner was average, but the breakfast was wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. Great, safe stay in Arusha or an overnight for Safari. FYI- at the time of our stay, they offered 2 huge amazing universal travel adapters to plug in our electronics, which was extremely helpful.
The staff at African Tulip go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and stress-free! I stayed at an ultra-luxury hotel shortly before staying here and I can honestly say that the service at African Tulip was greatly superior!!! The restaurant staff are also lovely and very accommodating for food allergies, which again made our stay stress-free and convenient. Would definitely recommend!!
This was a perfect hotel after a long flight and before jumping into the adventure of a Safari. Clean, kind staff, and pretty rooms.
Good serviceComfortable roomsGood dinner, great breakfastThanks!
The African Tulip hotel is like an oasis in the crazy, busy town of Arusha. We stayed there for only one night on departing Arusha for Dar es Salaam. We had an amazing room, very comfortable, and large, with great air conditioning, a water cooler, and many amenities including tea, coffee and snacks. We also had a lovely balcony, where we were able to watch many birds flying around the potted plants. The hotel is also walking distance from several very good restaurants. When we return to Arusha someday when the COVID-19 is over, we will make a point to stay at the African Tulip Hotel for more than just one night!
Truly stunning and elegant hotel, did not stay long at Arusha but the place eased my stay. Good staffs around to assist, convenient location to pop in and out of Arusha CBD..definately a place to go back to.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, clean, with very high pressured showers. Such a treat! The food is pretty good, nice variety of coffee drinks in the morning and a great space in the back with a clean pool and quiet very private yard.Roy safaris set us up here, and it was a good recommendation on their part.Cant find anything worth complaining about! Would gladly recommend staying here. Just try to get a room with a balcony when making your booking. There are a few!
Good service and a beautiful hotel
Great Service! The staff took great care of us. The breakfast was wonderful. The rooms are clean and relatively modern. The pool was smaller than it looks but the pool bar made up for it!
The best customer service at a hotel ... ever! Ive come to Arusha for many years and have had many meetings at African Tulip. Each and every time the quality and level of customer service impressed me. Then I stayed there for the first time. The rooms are really well done. Every detail has been considered. The plugs are universal with USB slots so no need to worry about those annoying adapters. There is ample water, which is always stocked in the bathroom and the refrigerator. The bed is comfortable and had really nice pillows, which is always the biggest joy for a frequent traveler. I had a lovely room with a sun bed overlooking the pool and courtyard. The food is fantastic, especially if you like Indian, which is their speciality. And that customer service! Every morning I was greeted with smiles, each waiter remembering my morning drink order and looking for extra ways to make my stay special. I told them that I never wanted to leave and thats the truth!
I had an amazing stay there. The staff was very helpful and not pressing, and the food was probably the best I had in Tanzania. They have a surprising range of Indian food as well (try the butter chicken) and the samosa were little triangles of bliss. The room were clean and had water bottles stocked here and there, and agreeably cooled. Their power outlet also had universal entries, which is a welcome sight for travelers. The owner came himself to greet us, a humble and handsome Indian fellow with a clear mastery of making you feel welcomed. In my opinion, this place is the best pied-a-terre you can have in all of Arusha. Its no surprise this place have that many stars ✨.
Our stay at The African Tulip was exceptional. They upgraded our room which was really spacious and clean, beautiful decoration and even a charming huge balcony. The food in the restaurant was exceptional, both their indian and their african dishes.Staff was really attentive and nice and the management came to check on us several times during our stay (even though it was just one day).In summary, the perfect start to our safari! Really recommended!
Such a nice hotel and all of the staff were wonderful. The manager and staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and then blessed us each with a departing gift . I Highly recommend this hotel
Pretty sure this is the best place to stay when you arrive in Arusha getting ready for your safari, or if you are coming into town after one. Super friendly staff, excellent facilities and great restaurant. The room was super nice and big (family room) with two bedrooms (3 beds) and a sitting area. Probably the best place in town to stay. Made resting up after the long trip to Tanzania easy so we were ready to go on safari the next morning.
Very nice and private. The staff are professional
Very nice small hotel. An effective oasis for someone from out of country. Does have limited amenities due to only about 30ish rooms. No spa or exercise room. Nice pool and lounge areas.Visited as part of a group. Food very safe and better than expected. Staff was exceptionally attentive and caring.
After landing in Kilimanjaro we went to this hotel for our first night in Tanzania. It was great hotel. We arrived at 9:30 and the bar closed at 10 so we went to the room and then to the bar for a nightcap. I asked for a Martini and the hostess did not know how to make one so I walked her through it. She did a good job. The following morning we had breakfast in the restaurant which included hot and cold selections. The service was amazing and we had a great time.
Very nice hotel for a couple of nights. A bit on the pricy side. In a road where walking is less intimidating than in many areas of Arusha. Lovely poolside casualbrestaurant that offers the same menu as the main restaurant. The bar also has a nicevsetup with a bit of a colonial feel. Just a nice hotel.
The African Tulip was clean and safe. The staff was most friendly and the hotel was quiet at night. I would spend the night there again. There is also a fantastic restaurant within the hotel.
I had a great time at the pool, rooms were awesome, food superb....I would recommend to anyone visiting Arusha .
What a wonderful hotel! The staff were always smiling and welcoming.Aruj the manager runs an exceptional hotel! I stayed a total of 3 nights. 1 on arrival (check in at 1:30 am was not an issue) and 2 post safari in mid and late October 2016.I can honestly say, I felt safe as a female solo traveller and the staff were very helpful in all queries! They advised me on my safety outside the hotel and offered an guide/driver to the sights I was interested in for $10USD into town and back to the hotel - Robert was such a friendly driver also gave me a tour of town so I could get my bearings. Every morning he would greet me with a big smile!Aruj was exceptional in helping me when I had a problem with my tour operator (separate company not associated with the hotel) and ensured I was well looked after. The food was delicious at the Baobab Restaurant and the pool bar area was a quiet relaxing place to retreat to.The air conditioned room with new amenities and clean. I felt comfortable walking in the bathroom and in my room bare foot! The surroundings were well kept and clean and not filled with bugs and mosquitos!Shadrack Robert in the souvenir shop was lovely! The prices were well below what I paid for in the Masai Market and street vendors in the towns along the way to the Serengeti National Park. I honestly didnt believe a souvenir from a hotel could be cheaper and I bargained them down!! I collected pieces that I walked away from bc I believed they should have been $5-10 and places quoted $30 and refused my offer. Tanzanite was also sold, but$150USD a night was well worth it! I paid more for less on campsites! Please read my Trip Advisor review with photos and prices!
We stayed there for the first day of our safari and it was great: spacious room with a very nice bathroom and big bed, very friendly staff, great cocktails and a very good food selection, both for dinner and for breakfast. As with all places we stayed during our safari, the biggest issue was that we unfortunately only had one night to enjoy the African Tulip, we would have loved to stay longer there...
We had a Sunday lunch in the restaurant, by a little fountain. The food was yummy (Indian Cuisine). Friendly staff. After lunch my daughter suggested we play a game of Scrabble. We sat at the back garden area which was beautiful, quiet and serene, played our game of Scrabble from start to finish - it was a beautiful experience.
Great place to start or finish your safari trip. Top service in an accommodation with personality. Helpful staff and awesome food too. Remarkable breakfast.
The shower water fluctuates between hot and cold.
We stayed there before safari and few nights after safari hotel is lovely with African touch Decoration the rooms are very spaces and the staff are very friendly and helpful food is always freshly cook had pleasant stay thank you
Beautiful hotel. Super clean. Superb food and service. Me and my friends really enjoyed the stay.
Amazing hotel with great food and staff. I would definitely stay here again.
The Africa tulip hotel is a place you have to been when you are in Arusha, Excellent service
The Baobab restaurant is in the classy African Tulip hotel. Nice atmosphere and good (if a bit overly-attentive) service. The Indian food is excellent, and you would be happy to be served it anywhere, but especially after you have just climbed Kilimanjaro! We also tried the steak and spaghetti bolognese and those were both great too. Value for money was good compared to other international restaurants in Arusha and we appreciated the effort the chef went to to make interesting, delicious food when he could have churned out the usual hotel stuff.
Wow. Prices would be very reasonable if it was in he US, so they seem exorbitant for Tanzania. Our room turned out to be a three bed suite and our safari company negotiated the price down for us from a base rate of $200 A night. But the room was stunning, the service excr plant and the restraint quite good by international standards, and included well prepared examples of Tanzanian cuisine at reasonable prices. If you arenfoingnon safari, this is a great first stop after a long flight. Roys Safari, which we were very happy with, is right next door, so the synergy is great.
One of the best boutique hotels in Arusha. Great rooms, incredible breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Indian cousine is my favorite there.
