Positive: Basic but functional in a good location. Good value to have your own room for such a price and bed was comfortable. Breakfast was simple but not bad considering what you pay. I only stayed one night but seems a good place to meet other travellers and close to bus station, town etc.. Negative: No mosquito nets..

Positive: The breakfast was average.. the actual location of the property is great and accessible from all important spots in the city from shopping malls to restaurants that cater for affordable meals and drinks. Hot water all the time and the rooms were sparkling clean.. Negative: Staff at the bar and during breakfast, need to improve their communication/relation with the guests..

Positive: The staff was really nice, especially Mercy who help us with everything during our stay. We booked for 4 nights and ended up staying a little bit more. The hostel is well located close to everything in Arusha. You can go walking to the supermarket and the central market. Also i recommend going to Shoppers to eat, you have everything. Very nice place to stay and cheap.. Negative: -.

Really good place. The staff is nice and even when we didmt have booking and we just showed up late in the evening they found a room for us.Breakfast is poor but there is also coffe and tea. Duting tje day you can drink coke with the nice view.

I would definitely recommend not staying at this hostel for the following reasons:- I was attacked by bed bugs in the first room I stayed at. When I found a bed bug and showed management, they moved me to a second room. I was attacked by bed bugs in this room as well and was moved to a different floor where I finally found a bed bug free room. Management helped me clean all of my bags the next day and seemed like they didn’t know about the bed bugs at first, so I will give them some credit.- In the process of cleaning my clothing, they somehow created a massive grease stain in my favorite shirt. This probably happened because the place they dry clothing is partially in their kitchen. The staff was not sympathetic at all when I showed them my stain.- the water inexplicably was turned off during the entire day on all three days. This meant toilets went I flushed until evening. Very gross.- this is the single loudest accommodation I have ever had while traveling. Between the nonstop rumble of traffic and music, I barely got any sleep.- a group of locals who are seemingly affiliated with the hotel sit on the doorstep and absolutely berate anyone who exits the hostel trying to get them to do a tour.

Like 1,000 USD could convert this to an exciting hostel. Instead it feels unloved, a side of the highway motel that just happens to advertise to tourists as a hostel. Mister manager: go decorate the upstairs roof and make it something nice. Google hostels in Asia for inspiration. Throw out the lights, get the beer cold, probably fire the staff (sorry) and if you dont want to serve food have a tablet for ordering food delivery.

We booked two nights in the hotel and there was no water at all not in the shower and not in the toilet, and we needed to move hotel in the middle of the night and they refused to return our money back.The rooms are very small and not comfortable, you can find match better places in the same money.

This Hostel is like home and I was sad to leave. The staff is so friendly, helpful and talkative that I really felt welcome and comfortable. The rooms are not that big but all is clean and functional. To share the bathrooms feels like camping. The breakfast is amazing and included in the good price.Because of the very central position its loud at night and you need a good sleep. Therefore all is in walking distance.

Awesome cost compared to the services offered. Nice Wifi at the rooftop which Goes to a floor down or so.Wake up early to take a picture of the Mt. Meru

Room was basic, okay for the price.

Good facility with a great view of the mountain. Budget option has nice bar and sitting area. I would however recommend a change of location, located right under a petrol station which I feel poses as a huge hazard! However, doesnt take away the beauty.

Positive: Clean room, nice location, friendly staff.. Negative: No lightbulb in the room so I got one from an empty room. No wifi in the rooms. And I missed the coffee at the breakfast haha.

Positive: Its a very good place for budget travellers. Hot water for having a shower is really good.. Negative: Anything.

Backpackers is great for literally, the backpacker...and even then, they are a bit strict and not-so friendly. They only allow registered guests to visit, which on one hand is a huge shame, as it would be great to get more people up in the mix at the restaurant and bar located on the top floor, but the flip side is, there is increased security. The rooms are a bit like prisons, tight, and the locks are on both sides, so there is possibility of getting locked in the room from the outside. I would recommend other local places that you can find at the same price as back-packers.

Very cheap hotel (8 Us Dollars single room) with a nice roof-top terrace including a restaurant and a bar. The single rooms here are tiny and if on the street-side also very noisy. Unluckily only one room in the second floor has a mosquito net.

For the price it was an okay hostel. 8 dollars for a dorm and the same price for a singel, though the singel rooms are TINY! The food in the restaurant is not very good and definatly over priced but its a good location and close to good restaurants. The staff is nice and helpful and if you havnt booked your safari just ask someone that works in the restaurant and they will call someone. Do that and then get an estimate price. Ask around what other people paid and then HAGGLE! I got a really good price this way and the tour I did which i booked with the guy the waiter called was great. The rooms are really nice and it has soft beds and fans. Biggest downside is the Wi-Fi. It goes on and off and is not very fast. But this is what its like at basically all hostels in Tanz. Go but a Vodacom SIM card for like 1000 shilling and top it up with some money and you are good. Mostly if u need it for booking, its nice to just relax without Wi-Fi at the really nice rooftop too.

I was very satisfied with this hostel.Poritive: - The breakfast was one of the best ive had so far in Tanzania with cereals and good bread, the Price (20$ for a double room) was also ok and its just some minutes walking from the busterminal, also there is hot waterNegative: most of the rooms have no real windowsAll in all i can recommend this hostel :-)

Its very cheap but the rooms are tiny and the showers are very small. The place is on the main road so get ready to hear a lot of car honking early morning

This is a very good budget accommodation in the center of Arusha. The special private rooms are tiny so its not comfortable for long term stay, but for the price they are perfect for a couple of nights. The place is clean and staff professional. The restaurant is expensive, so I didnt try the food. The bufet breakfast is above average.Note: the address in google is wrong, check to see if they changed it.

We had a very inconvenient experience with this hostel. We booked it because it was a cheap and apparently good option in Arusha through Booking website. We chose the cheapest rooms for a group of 9 people and it was to be paid in the hostel. When we did the check out, they charged us for more expensive room which we had not booked. They alleged that was a problem with booking website and even after talking with the manager, they made us pay higher than expected. The rooms are really small and to top it off there was no difference between the more expensive rooms and the cheapest. We felt deceived just because we are tourists.

Very nice hostel with a huge terrace on top! The service was great, the toilets/showers also! The rooms are very small but we only sleep there so it was ok :)

Very good hotel in the city

Low prices and nice rooftop and location but not more .. most disturbing are the thin walls and the light during the night... and the crazy noise level even after 2a.m. so i couldnt even rest.

Nice Backpacker, really clean and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was amazing. The only bad thing it can get a bite noisy because of the main road.

Great sitting space at the roof top. Good service at the reception. Note, when they say special rooms, they mean it ironically. Theyre okay nonetheless.

Don’t go there. It’s aweful. Turns it out it’s really common for them to have constant shortages of running water in their pipes. So don’t count on taking showers, flushing the toilet etc’

A safe and clean hostel in the center of Arusha. Close to the (Western) restaurants, the supermarket, the Massai market,... The breakfast is poor but the topfloor / bar is a nice place to stay, have a drink and relax.

Very nice rooftop with bar. Bathroom is very clean. Staff was even cleaning at 11pm. Rooms are good and quiet.

Solid backpacker hostel. Clean and well maintained. Offers a lot of services to help you along with your Tanzanian adventuring.

Friendly staff, speaking really good english, rooms look clean but you should take your own sleeping sleve with you, mosquito net on open windows, nice bar and restaurant at the roof with good prices, located at the boarder of arusha town, close to the bus station and arusha airport, as closer sou get tot he town as friendlier it is and more tourist stores, where at the slums you think its the poorest country of the world!However, arusha backpackers is a really good valuable hostel - absolut friendly and recommandable for budget backpackers! A basic clean place . location a bit odd, but easy walkable accesibility to town. Price reasonable . As the name indicates ...catering for backpackers .

They didnt let me do my daily hand laundry and wanted me to pay them yo do it. Despite of that they offer a good price for the bed

Has everything you need - hot showers, a restaurant and WiFi. Restaurant is more expensive than local food, so head across the road for dinner.
