What a great experience! Joshi shared so many inspiring stories and was such a great host. The food were amazing! The flavours of each dish were different and so delicious. Made fresh when ordered making it extra special if you have any requests. Highly recommended

Joshis is a very special place run by a special owner. The food is clean, tasty, and there is nothing like it on the island (Ive been living in Zanzibar for two years). The pani puri, urojo, and thali are our personal favorites, along with any of his juices.Beyond the stellar food and local atmosphere is the owner himself. Joshi and his family have been at the heart of Stone Town for a long time. He provides free drinks and treats for the local school kids as he wants them to feel as cared for as possible so they can focus on learning. He is known as Joshi Clinton to many and has won honors for his fantastic food.So, my advice is come for the food, stay for the stories as you will get to know the heart and soul of Stone Town. I cannot recommend Joshis enough!

This is a wonderful spot to stop and try some delicious, freshly made Indian and Zanzibarian food. We ate at Joshis twice while in Stone Town - once for a Gujrati thali with mango and tamarind juice on the side, and once for a Zanzibar mix platter. Although not marked on the menu, Joshi was knowledgeable and made sure our meals were fully vegan.Joshi himself is a highlight - he was friendly, chatty, and offered local advice. Highly recommend!

Went there before the coronavirus, the owner Joshi is very accommodating to vegans and very hospitable and gracious. we enjoyed chatting with him before our food arrived. I believe they serve mainly Gujarati/Gujarati-Zanzibari fare as the soups were on the sweeter side, which is a hallmark of Gujarati food.

One of Zanzibar’s hidden gems, enjoy a delicious Zanzibar mix bowl and a vegetarian thali. If you are lucky, Joshi will tell you a story or two while you devour the island’s only pani puri.

Lovely little place, Joshi is one friendly guy mixing India and Zanzibar food. Actually knows the difference between vegetarian and vegan.

Very authentic experience dining at Joshis restaurant outside with views of locals going about their daily business. Food was delicious and good value for money. Joshi recommended a mixed platter of varied curries, chapatis, pickles, vegetables and other things. We were not disappointed! Highly recommend, fantastic service, fantastic food.

Incredible Vegan and Vegetarian paradise in Zanzibar Stone town. We stumbled across it and became the happiest veggies on the island. Joshis was closing for renovation at the moment we arrived but nevertheless he served us an amazing lunch. Its a pitty that we only discovered this restaurant on our last day! It definitely was our best food experience on Stone Town. Good luck for the next chapter Joshi ;)

Joshis restaurant is a very nice and friendly place, the owner is passionate about his food and he will make everything to please you.Everything is fresh cooked and you can feel it. Its one of the best urojo I had in zanzibar and every time I get there he makes me discover a new speciality.I recommand to everyone who wants to experience nice local restaurant with the best host as Joshi.Asante sana

Joshis is a perfect way to taste delicious Zanzibar flavours as a vegetarian. Joshi is the owner, the cook and waiter and is the warmest of hosts. We had the Zanzibar Mix and the thali which was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavour.

Must visit place if you are in stone town zanzibar...amazing vegetarian food. We tried thali and zanzibar mix. Lovely place and most importantly Mr. Joshi uncle is very hospitable in service. He would make sure that every person comes to his restaurant dont go hungry...!!! Must try at Joshis is Zanzibar mix..

Excellent. quality dishes, everything is homemade and the prices are very moderate. Joshi is a very welcoming character.

Very tasty and eaten a lot for little money. Super sweet owner with passion for his job! Everything is fresh and homemade and they cook with mineral water. Highly recommended if you want to eat typically and certainly for vegans!
