We were seated almost immediately, and had a most amiable waitress. She took our orders and brought us a fan to keep the air cool around us. When a better table became available, she moved us to that spot. The service was excellent! The staff is quick and responsive. Now let me tell you about the food...This is the best meal that we have had in Zanzibar! The food is fresh. It is served hot. The menu has a variety of flavors and options to choose from. From the drinks and appetizers to the dessert, nothing was a miss. Everything was delicious, and we completely cleared our plates. Our experience was wonderful and this was a memorable dining experience well be raving about when we share stories of Zanzibar.
Amazing view from the roof terrace and you don’t need to wait to get your table. the drinks are delicious and the food as well and has fair prices for what it offers ! We had a full seafood plate for 2, with lobster, shrimps.. and was around 55k tw (around $25 dollars)The staff is also super attentive, friendly and quick. We came back twice in our staying of one week in Stone town. I can just recommend this place !! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👏
Beech front location and nice exterior. Pleasant staff but not too attentive .Starters well presented and tasty but main course was rather disappointing. King prawns (€20) were rather small and over grilled despite my request to be medium done. Cannelloni with ricotta cheese and spinach were bland.Took forever to remove plates after main course was finished.I did make a comment on main course not being well prepared and chef offered another dish free of charge so nice gesture on his side. Not sure what to think honestly.Wish I stayed with starters and left happy and full.
Lovely views at sunset from the rooftop bar. Food was good and the service not bad. I went there specifically to sample Zanzibeer, Zanzibar’s local craft beer, but they had run out of it by the time I ordered (on a Saturday evening!). Not sure who’s fault that was but it was disappointing. Otherwise a lovely place and I would go back.
I’ve never in my entire life felt the need to write a bad review about a restaurant, until my time here. Everyone from the manager down to the cooks have no ethics.I came in and ordered a burger that was to be cooked medium well, but then they came out with a burger that was COMPLETELY raw on the inside. It literally looked as if they put it on the grill for one second, then removed it.I complained to the waiter, which they were all so nice… Then, the manager came. After seeing the burger they served me, he had offered to ‘comp’ my next few meals at the place. The next day, I came back. He told me that since I didn’t go to the hospital, he wouldn’t cover any meals.I was already going through a series of medical emergencies on my end— if I had gotten food poisoning, I would’ve been died. I have no doubt about it.I’ve never been treated so badly by the manager of any restaurant before in my life. Don’t visit this place.
Food and drinks: nice selection of dishes and drinks. If you like octopus, they offer an interesting version of it 🐙🐙🐙Do not recommend cocktail spicy basil smash, it was very bland.Service: the bar staff is not used to someone sitting and ordering at the bar, but they got used to us there))They made a cocktail which is not on the menu per our request and brought peppers when we asked for a spicy dish. The bathroom was nice and clean.Atmosphere: music was nice, but I didn’t appreciate that people could smoke at the bar which is inside.
The best happy hour except it’s short lived 🥲 we really enjoyed ourself here . We sat at the roof top bar and watched the sunset while drinking cocktails!I must add they have a good selections of alcohol and they make good cocktails. We tried a lot of cocktails that we have never tasted and the staff super friendly and so welcoming .We also nibbled on some bar snacks and they were delicious! Overall excellent service !
The vibes here are unmatched for such an affordable price. My sister and I came here after a long day of excursions and we decided to sit outside on the rooftop veranda. That sunset was 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾Our meals were so good for such an affordable price. Theres also a bar on the rooftop veranda. If you want a premium restaurant feel for a reasonable price, you have to stop by here. You will not be disappointed.
Had a nice family meal. Lots of good options for kids to eat. View is very nice as well but no cover if you go onto balcony during the day.
We had crispy calamari, margherita pizza and seafood linguine. The pizza and the seafood linguine were tasty even though I would not consider the pizza a real italian pizza (as you can see on the picture). The crispy calamari on the other side tasted like they were fried in reused cooking oil.The staff was very friendly, helpful and they were wearing masks. Since it was so hot, they were so kind to arrange a ventilator right next to us.Wifi was available.
What wonderful food. The chef is an artist 😍It was a wonderful experience! The praw. Tempura is like none I had tried before, very thin spicy crust, crunchy on the outside and juicy and soft on the inside with a special spiced cucumber on the side with Dil and a special creamy sauce. If would site there menu and prices he care that the chef takes to prepare each meal it woul take me a month!A must see and taste place to go if you are around!
Food ok, but the octopus super fried, some parts of it even burned. Too much sauce on the octopus, but super tasty sauce for the vegetables salad. Is a food place to eat in Stone Town. Thank you
Nice place where to look at the sunset. Cocktails are decent, better than nearby places. They have happy hour prices and bring popcorn as well. Ask for the terrace upstairs if you are here for the sunset
Nice and cozy place, close to the beach. Good service, didnt have the chance to check the food
Had a table facing the ocean and enjoyed food appropriate for the whole family--even picky eaters. Meal options cheaper than options on the east coast of the island and quality is very high. Service is pretty good, moving faster than your average island pace. Excellent grilled octopus, Peri Peri chicken, big burger, and kids meal. Good cocktails and an excellent passion fruit creme brulee. Highly recommend this place!
Utterly mediocre. Chewy octopus and squid, salad just iceberg lettuce, ceviche wasnt really ceviche - cooked fish and more iceberg lettuce. You can get much tastier food in Tanzania for a tenth of the price. Staff were friendly though!
Come here for the view. They have great sunset views and decent drinks. I was disappointed with the wait staff. They were so accommodating a couple of groups of European tourists so its understandable that a quiet couple did not get their attention. The European tourists were horrendous, walking all over the place and blocking out the view of the sunset even though we requested the seats with the best view since we had come earlier than the 2 groups. I felt the staff should have addressed it with the group indicating them to be polite to the other customers by viewing from their seats. The drinks were good and I love their cocktail recepies. I was disappointed that I had to ask for the happy hour menu and the waiter reluctantly brought it up after we requested for it. I feel the management needs to train the staff that you get good paying customers through the happy hour so that they can continue the experience into the evening. The food was average at best. We had an appetizer which was too greasy and the margherita pizza which was sweet for some reason. I dont understand how a pizza can be sweet. Most of all I was very disappointed that the waiting staff did not care to address us while the European tourists got so much attention. I wish that attitude would change at some point.
Masala chips, salad, vegeterian lasagne was some of the best food in Stone town. Big size portion was difficult to finish but great for sharing with friends alongside happy hour. Best place for a gorgeous sunset and rooftop sundowner. Well priced refreshing happy hour cocktails. Staff are friendly and complimentary popcorn with every visit is a big win.
Brilliant service and food is absolutely amazing, nice location, noce view and staff are unbelievable, thank you for your services and we will come back hundred times 🙏🙏
This place is reliable for Western style food such as pizzas, burgers and salads. I ordered a margherita pizza and it was tasty and filling. Prices are pretty reasonable considering it is in a super touristy area.I would recommend 6 Degrees South for food if you are hungry and the roof deck has stunning views but it only opens from 6pm.
Ignore the tourist reviews. The place is in a good location, but the food and drinks fell majorly short. Masala fries were soggy and had mostly chili powder. Gin cocktail was very sweet and served in a martini glass.Wouldnt seat me on rooftop as it was before 5pm and the main stay downstairs was quite hot and there were a lot of flies around. I was also the only diner at 4pm and the wait staff just stood around making it a bit uncomfortable. Everything is a bit overpriced -- splurge the extra shillings and go to a better establishment.
Amazing Food, Wonderful Ambiance, Great Hospitality. Everything is so so so nice about this place. You can choose to sit on the rooftop terrace with the serene sea view, or choose to sit in the Air Conditioned lavish lounges downstairs. Kitchen closes at 10:30 so order food by 10PM, the bar is open till midnight. A must visit eatery when in Stone Town. (Price is on the higher side but totally justifiable)
Place with a good view. There are different floors where you can sit and eat. There is quite fancy restaurant on the first floor. The best one is on the roof because the view is really beautiful. You can relax, watch the sunset while eating and drinking some good food and cocktails. There is always music.
Lovely ocean view, menu, service and ambiance. You must try it!
Best dinner so far in Africa within 10 days. Clean and comfortable dinning area with good sea view. Service is friendly. Dishes were expected, which were seafood platter, prawn wrap and soup of the day. The toasted bead was awesome accompanied with soup. Absolutely the nice restaurant worth to visit again.
Great place, very beautiful, in a very good location (far from the Forodhani gardens confusion), in front of a nice garden and with sea view. We were there for lunch and ordered the A taste of Africa dish and the seafood linguini and both were very good. And the prices are not expensive (average 20.000 TSH per dish).
Food excellent staff excellent and price excellent, very good view of the sea and the sunset. Best restaurant I have been to. Edit: returned two days later and got the worst stomach bug from the seafood. They visibly didn’t devein the prawns and the security very rudely said I had to drink or throw away my whole water before entering (not cool in a place that you can’t drink the tap water). Rather go in the day, nighttime is a little wishy washy but still one of the best restaurants on the island.
Beautiful and wonderful place, food are very good and waitress they are so lovely, thank you for your services I will back again.❤️❤️💋💋😊🙏
Nice view of the ocean and facilities but the food was disappointing. High priced for the area and didn’t feel worth it
The ambience is excellent, very scrumptious desert we had the cheese cake. The coffee was lovely. The dinner I would give 8/10 as the burger was abit dry. My mates loved their food though! it’s located in an excellent area walking distance from the port and ever popular forodhani area , with full on ocean breeze. Great place to hang out for meals.
Wonderful and perfect. One of the best restaurants in stone town. Prices are reasonable/cheep for the awesome quality of the food.Very good composition of flavors and size. Service is super friendly and helpful.Dont miss the view on top of the building after 5pm.Personal recommendation is the spiced coffee for desert. You have to go there, if you visit zanzibar!!!!
It’s seldom you’re lucky enough to sample an octopus dish that not only looks like tyres but also tastes like it
Great place for cocktails, sundowner and sunset vibe in Zanzibar. The wifi code is for 2 hours and they also provide pop corn, we went there twice when in Zanzibar and loved it. Some cocktails(but not all) are on happy hour and that makes it affordable if on a budgetWould definitely visit again if back in Zanzibar.
6 degrees south is the go to place for all your cocktail needs in Zanzibar. They have a variety to choose from and the prices are even better at happy hour because they’re halved and are drinks are accompanied by popcorn. The building, a sophisticated work of art both in and out also overlooks the beach particularly beautiful when watched from the comfortable and airy roof. #vacation #travel #barsandcocktails
Sometimes crowded and sometimes totally empty the rooftop is really nice and a large choice of cocktails at reasonable price !We recommend the Colada’s one! Poured in a fresh coconut !You can watch football games over there and the service is nice too!PS: don’t be impressed by the luxurious entrance !
Upscale place.Prices are on the high side but worth it.Cocktails are very good. You can watch the sunset
This place is great to chill after a long day walking around Stone Town. It is located by a beach and even though there is a main road passing in the front, it is still a relaxing place. The food was good and the passion fruit mojito was excellent!Service was fast and friendly... and they have WiFi!!
Nice place. Awesome food. Nice bar on the root top.
A restaurant, bar, DJ music, dance, live music, karioke nights, watching the best sunsets enjoying the best meals....all in one at 6 degrees south!!
It is a cool place with nice food. If youre a vegetarian, you should try the Lasagna (yummy) and for Mexican food lovers, their chicken quesadillas were very tempting. They have a roof top bar facing the ocean and a very comfortable sitting on the right side. Great place to chill and relax with friends.
Food I ate was horrible, youre served like youre in the streets.. The quality was so poor for me
King fish tacos was so delicious. It was a big portion, l could hardly finish it. Ambient is nice. I would expect a better bathroom for such place.
Outstanding stafand wonderful venue. Good selection of pasta, Indian, and local cuisines with some comfort bar foods.Perfect VN positioning to watch the spectacular sunset and locals playing on the bouys in the ocean. There is a rooftop bar with happy hour to enjoy a cold beverage prior to retiring to the balcony/covered dining room with cloth tablecloths and napkins. Solar table lights add to the ambiance.Worth a visit.
Amazing food! We ordered octopus, fish and prawns. All of these were fresh and tasty, especially octopus. I highly recommend this place for a dinner. Terrace view will add some relaxed atmosphere to the evening.
Sundowners with a view! Best spot in Stone town!
Awful staff, bad cocktails, terrible staff. Beach house next door is a much better choice 🍾
Food was fantastic . I would highly recommend this place
