Worst hotel experience I’ve had so far. Got my money stolen from my hotel room in which I stayed together with my cousin. The manager seemed to be nice but confronted with the police was making up some stories about not having another set of the keys only to confirm later that she actually does have it. Not to mention about ‘accidentally’ not working camera system which led to a very unpleasant feeling of being unsecured. We didn’t stay there for the last night and didn’t get our money back.

I stayed there with my friend for 3 night. The room was okay, with AC, cannot complain about it.But there was one situation which ruined our time here. Our money got stolen from the hotel room while we were having breakfast at the rooftop. When we wanted to explain the situation with the manager and see the records from cameras, she said that the technician would come later. She added that we for sure had to miscount the money because there is no way that someone used the second key she has. After few hours, she said that the cameras don’t work. Anyway we informed police and the lady lied in front of us and them, making up some stories that second key got lost. Coincidence? I don’t think so.Be aware of this place and never go there !!! You cannot feel safe in a place where cameras don’t work and the manger is a lier

Upon arrival the front desk was well prepared to get us situated quickly. There was 9 of us arriving at various times from different origins. During our stay, we were in 7 day Covid isolation. The staff was amazing. They offered laundry services if we needed it. Since we were stuck in our rooms, they dropped food at our door 3x a day. And stopped by a few extra times for coffee or tea service. They accommodated all of our food specifications and we enjoyed the abundant amount of good food. Luckily we each had a refrigerator in our rooms to store juice, water, and our leftovers. My room was well kept, large enough for 2 beds and a sitting area. Just outside my door is a terrace garden to enjoy the view and read a book. At the entry there is an outdoor covered cafe to grab lunch or coffee. Highly recommend for an inexpensive and friendly experience.

Aircon and fan worked well, fridge in the room was a bonus. Bedding grainy and tired. Bathroom very tired and even sloped. Hot water comes and goes. Plenty of mosquitoes, even inside the netting.

Its basically a good hotel, one I would definitely recommend if you want to have a quiet night. The breakfast is OK as well, served on a nice balcony. The room we had was air conditioned, what is not always in this price range (80$ for a triple) in Zanzibar. There a two problems though, each one costing the hotel a star from my perspective:1. There is basically nothing beside beds in the room(ok, one chair, one mirror). No wardrobe, no place to put your clothes.2. The bathroom looks more like from a 20, not 80$ hotel.

The Hotel is clean, staff are kind and friendly, garden all over the hotel which goes hand in hand with the name Garden Lodge. Rooms are clean and the art of Zanzibar beds, doors and other furniture makes the rooms more beautiful. Delicious brakefast. Its near the heart of stone town. Tight security around the street nearby. Its just 10 mins by walking to The ferry and 10 mins to the airport by Taxi.

1st stop when I arrived on the island… the hotel is very well located 10 min walk from the historic center and the port…It is in a dead end so I was not bothered by traffic …Close to the beach too so really spotless…Super nice staff.

Inexpensive overnight stays for several days. A hotel with taste, style, decor ... Shared loggia, breakfast on the roof. Very quiet at night. The fan is noisy, the AC did not cool much, but you can sleep. The shower drain is clogged. In the room there is a table, a mini fridge, a wardrobe of colonial times, a giant bed, high, with a net. The view from the window is trashy, but light. The nearest beach is near Africa House. There are also boats, you can arrange excursions to the islands. There is also a disco bar Tatu. The locals stick with the suggestions of everything. The manager Said, the bartender Twaha are great fellows.
