Stayed here many years ago and still remember it as my favourite holiday! For a few days we were the online people in the resort and it was lovely! The pool is great, the food was fabulous! We looked foward to each meal. The staff is amazing. Back then the rooms were amazing too.

Samaki staff are friendly and go beyond the call of duty to ensure their guests are well taken care off. It is very clean and very neat. The pool is amazing and the rooms are also in great condition. Breakfast was great however there is a limited menu for lunch and dinner. Overall Samaki is a great lodge and one that i highly recommend.

First of all, African 5* are not European 5*, so be ready ;) all is made from natural materials, clean enough, rooms were okay - African eco style, equipped with everything necessary but old. Windows in the bathroom - just why?))) I don’t want passing people watch me in the bathroom. Territory is shared with Palumbo, but Samaki has separate pool and bar too. I absolutely loved the territory, it’s nature, birds. Staff was friendly and helpful. Liza, a very nice and kind girl on the bar, made me a special cocktail to relieve my sore throat, it was very nice of her and helped a lot! Food was quite good, including seafood and different pastas. Overall impression is great but there are areas to be improved (rooms renovation).

You wanted a beach holiday! Zanzibar is a paradise island with lots to do.Samaki Lodge and Spa Resort staff are very friendly and welcoming, keen to tailor your holiday experience to your requirements. On arrival, you may even get the opportunity to upgrade your package. Listen to the offers.The room was very luxurious with mosquito-netted four poster queen-sized bed and a single bed used as a day bed or chaise longue. When the heat was unbearable, there was an excellent air conditioning unit and a fan to cool you down. The rooms had a square three-pin British-type socket for appliances. For round-pin plugs bring an adaptor. Wi-Fi was available 24/7 in the reception area. Ask reception for the password.The food provided was excellent. Chef Dowie and his other chefs made sure all meals were to international standard on the buffet. The Restaurant opening times were very ameniable, if you fancied a lie-in or late dinner. The food quality was delightfully, exceptional! Waiting staff made sure your glass was filled with water.Excursion options to get out and see the island, were very good value for money. Dont be late, they are run like clockwork.Lounging around the resort, request a towel from reception, then there is the option of Samaki Pool and snack bar or Samaki secluded beach loungers; where one of the members of staff bring a sun lounger cushion for free for the day. Put down your towel to reserve your spot and enjoy.Fancy a break from sunbathing, book in at the Spa beauty point for a wide variety of spa treatments at affordable prices. Spa treatments include aromatherapy massage; head massage; manicure, pedicure and Jacuzzi. The staff are professional, friendly and very good at what they do. It was immediately so relaxing perhaps because they have the appropriate soundtrack playing - envisage pan-pipes, Thai Mor lam or bird tweet calls. Sooo tranquil! Stretching (yoga) exercises were offered by the entertainment team.Be ready to participate in the evening entertainment that the entertainment team Rodgers, Asia and others put on. Visiting Zanzibar dancing and singing groups are laid on, so you can appreciate Zanzibar Taarab and rural ngoma music. Most evenings end in a lively on-site disco called Makelele playing up-to-date eurobeats.

Wonderful place to stay! Staff treat you like family and wait on you hand and foot. The details in the food, bedrooms, entertainment were all amazing. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

It was a honeymoon that i will never forget❤️. I cant thank enough all the team in Samaki, they were very kind, cheerful and professional. The lodge is unique in structure and position with luxurious accommodations and room service, also i should mention the 24/7 security guards. Thank you chef Dawoodi and restaurant staff for the delightfull cuisine buffet and alakat and the good service. Thank you Mubarak and Fadili for the wonderfull trips. Special thanks for Samaki owner for the good hospitality and followup. The biggest thanks and appresiation is for my man Ali who made every thing came true, you just enjoy the stay and keep the thinking and preparation for Ali, and if you have a dream or a desire he will make it happen. Everything is very old, dirty and disgusting. The owner is greedy. I was given only one bottle of water and two packs of shampoo for 4 days.

If it hadnt been for Halima and Ali Mohammed, our stay wouldnt have been the same! They were so welcoming and nice from the very begining! Aside from that, the Lodge was impressive, very beautiful and well located! Food was good and well assorted too! We will definetely go back!

One of the best hotels in Zanzibar, the area and the hotel itself is better than five stars. But still rooms and amenities for 3 *. There are 2 hotels nearby, it is better to take a 3-star because it is better, you will eat at the buffet in a 3-star. 3-star cheaper, closer to the ocean and the rooms in it are better. If not for the conditions of Zanzibar, I would have given this hotel 4 stars, and so overall good. Great food, pool and nature.

Excellent lodge with very welcoming, caring and smiling staff, very well maintained place, very lively in the evening, the meals are of good quality. We have a point of view at the roof top, a private beach, a spa and even a beauty institute, you can have a waxing or a massage.Excursions are offered by the hotel, you have a lot of choice.On the other hand, provide shampoo and shower gel, because around the Lodge there is nothing.Nevertheless we had a very good holiday and we rested well.

The hotel is very pretty, the room nicely decorated with flowers every day, the staff very pleasant and attentive, the pool is great, the meals are good despite being quite repetitive.However, the tax of 7 euros per day per person is excessive ... the all-inclusive formula still requires us to have meals only at fixed times (no buffet all day) cocktails, water and bottled sodas are chargeable , the beach is completely covered with algae, impossible to land and swim (the water reaches our ankles for meters).A little advice: take everything you need in your suitcases (beauty products +++ shampoos) because no store in sight before kilometers by car 😰

As i promised to mr pablo and is wife i write in french. a reservation made on e booking for 4 days. this hotel is so wonderful I stayed 9 days. it is a 4 star hotel with a smiling staff super clean hotel. hotel is twinned with an equally superb 2 star hotel with 3 swimming pools on the site sports ground private beach in the 4 star and superb sunbathing in the 2 star. in front of the magical Indian ocean. you take your breakfast which is gargantuan. the buffet is incredible so much choice. the staff is smiling and very professional. I was independent because I had my own car and I was with the locals of the village. you can do a lot of excursions from this place which is ideally placed in the east not far from everything in 1 hour by car or 15 minutes for kiwengua. ask at the reception they take care of everything. muito obrigado to mr pablo palumbo and his wife charming couple general manager for their welcome. as well as ali le mana ger de samaki lodge sory for my ebony diamond judith. im not a boss but a world traveller. thank you all for this extraordinary stay. heart.hakuna matata friends.regards.jp the french guy

Very typical hotel, flowery, seen on the magnificent sea, all the staff very pleasant, always a surprise arriving in the room with a flower decoration, very clean and food varied and good finally super!!!! it changes my big complex good continuation to the whole staff team and little attention to store the animator always available hakuna matata!!!

We spent a beautiful 12 days holiday, the structure is very beautiful and characteristic and shares the various areas (restaurants, bars, beaches and recreational areas) and entertainment with the palumbo reef.Compared to the latter, it offers a more reserved structure with its own swimming pool (but it is still possible to use that of the palumbo) and private beach. The advantage lies precisely in this greater privacy and tranquility and a smaller number of guests (thirty rooms in all).The security in both reports is guaranteed both by the presence of soldiers abroad and by the Masai inside (day and night).The service is excellent, the cuisine is spectacular (breakfast, lunch and dinner) with a large assortment of dishes to meet various needs (the menu changes every day), fruit is always present and in great variety.The soft all-inclusive service includes the possibility of consuming non-alcoholic drinks (including coca cola, Fanta and fruit juices, American coffee) without limitations (from 10 am to 10 pm).The espresso coffee (for a fee) is not bad, perhaps the baristas should be taught how to regulate the temperature of the machine to avoid serving it cold.The rooms are not very large but still spacious enough (in our case there was a very suggestive terrace overlooking the sea). A separate mention for the bathroom, which showed obvious signs of lack of maintenance, with a crusted and not particularly clean shower. Samaki is Palu, boreef is just a different body. It turns out that the whole territory is used the same, it is just that the samaki has another beach and another building. In general, the hotel is good, a small minus in food, but not tasty. Great ebb and flow. 95 percent of vacationers are Russians with children.

Very pleasant hotel, we appreciated the natural decoration, the tranquility and the cleanliness of the place, the attentive and welcoming staff (in particular Simon and Manas of the restaurant). The food is good and remains varied despite the important place that Italian gastronomy holds on the buffet. The beach and its surroundings are nice. Flawless stay :)

In a week all the people we met (about twenty) felt bad about the food. Also compared to other hotels as they have structured the hotel they do not have cribs on the shoreline. In a week we had problems with the room, always solved but they could change it earlier, only the penultimate night. Very friendly staff.

Very quiet place, well cleaned with very courteous staff. They often understand Italian.We eat in the lodge near Palumbo where there is a lot of food.The only drawback is the sea, there is low tide every 6 hours.You can still take a good bath in the two swimming pools in the villages.Attention, for snorkelers there is no fish for that you have to go north of Zanzibar. In the evening there is a bit of animation, while mid-morning and mid-afternoon excellent snacks.On the beach, small souvenir shops held by the Masai while local staff organize splendid trips even less expensive than what is proposed by the tour operator and the villages themselves.I made use of the tour operator Sand who, however, was not very present and a thread disorganized in certain puccole things.

Stay bought on private sale we stayed 10 days at Samaki lodge a tourist tax of 7 euros per person and per stay was requested inadmissible while the site of private sale it is specified 1 euros per day and per person that impact strongly on the budget of the excursions.Hotel nice and relaxing. A week here has flown by ... good Italian cuisine available in the adjacent Palumboreef ... clean rooms often decorated with bougainvillea petals ...The proposed excursions are excellent! The hotel is nice, but the staff and administration are dishonest! Stay bought on private sales. Surprise on arrival with a tourist tax of 7 € per night per person. We just picked us up by the pool for payment on the first day. We are told that it is the travel operators where this tax has been set. All French present are very dissatisfied. We, as many had to cancel one or two excursions.None of the employees speaking French, they refer to the vacationers and appeal to them to explain to newcomers the instructions. So we spent our holiday explaining to others the operation of the hotel.The staff of the restaurant and rooms is very caring and folds in 4 to make your stay very pleasant.We met people of exceptional kindness.Our excursions were made with Ally beach boy who prepared us tailor made excursions. I have just arrived at Samaki lodge. They gave me a room with a bathroom window on the passage corridor upstairs,with window without darkening practically zero privacy. The cleanliness leaves something to be desired. The room is somewhat run down. Il Palumbo, on the other hand, is a completely different story even if I havent seen the rooms.

I went there for a good week for a honeymoon. The room was sublime, seen on the sea, cleaned every day, the staff suuuuper friendly, Ali the gentleman of the host, too too kind and always present, we ate in another restaurant of another hotel next door (palambo) the Staff are great too, I loved chatting with all of them, the food sometimes was excellent and sometimes no more, but there was often a lot of choice and buffet (halal).The entertainment at night I did not attend all the entertainment but the little I saw it was too good.The beach - it was at least 23deg and not deep at all, hardly if it came to our chest.The two pools at both hotels were superb too.We went on spice tower, stone town, and the monkey forest, everything was under control and we had a great time.I said that we have wifi only in front of the home, it can really disconnect and focus only on the holidays. Me it go well.For the spa, then there for 10 € you have a very good massage, it was very nice.PS: the city tax was € 7 per person per night, so it really impacted our budget excursions. And it was not specified that it was going to be so expensive, we had the surprise once arrived there

Prepare delicious. Room service is long. The mattress is bigger than the bed, by the end of the rest the back began to ache. Exotic as it should be, super place, warmth, incredibly warm ocean, pools and even in the shower hot water instead of cold! Very nice and respectful local people, every day they asked how it is and if we liked it and a lot of them know Czech and incredibly skilled and helpful, the prices are bargain ;-) Staff waiting for tips and kids for bombs, food cool for the choice, but we were very puzzled that obviously I prefer the Italians and even though the owner is said to be an Italian, it shouldnt happen, and especially when they pay such amounts and not just dollars to take the Euro and get ready for a 1-dollar visa and for every night stay.taxa $ 8, so quite a lot and still have to list your input and output papers! We were there in March 2019
