Our tents were excellent! This location in the Serengeti completely immerses you in the sights and sounds of nature. At night we could hear rock hyraxes, bats and other birds. There was one morning where a lion was just relaxing on a rock not too far from our campsite. Scary indeed but if youve ever wanted to feel what its like to sleep in the wild then this camping location is perfect for you. Bathroom facilities are average, shower water is cold and the shower and toilet area not entirely clean but welcome to the wild, this isnt a 5 star hotel.
3 or 4. Beautiful, peaceful spot. Kopis on 2 sides. Hyena came into camp last night. Clean showers (cold which is fine because the weather is mild) and clean toilets. I appreciated coming home to this camp after safari today.
Great camp site in middle of Serengeti. You can hear lion roar in middle of night. Clean bathroom but no lights. So bring flash lights. Highly recommend this place for Serengeti visit.
Pimbi was one of three public campsites in a small cluster. There are lots of different special sites and luxury camps sprinkled throughout the Serengeti but this is the public budget option. We stayed three nights and it was pretty ok. Expect to bring your own TP and soap. The showers are cold water only. The meerkats, depsite looking cute and cuddly, can be quite aggressive if they feel threatened. They live in the termite mounds nearby and come out usually in the late morning/early afternoon. There is a kitchen for the chefs and a small enclosed dining area. Bring a flashlight for after dark.
The camp site is on the Serengeti reserve. I woke up to go to the toilet around 11 pm and there were three water buffalos in the camp site, one on the path to it, and two by the bathrooms. I had to flash them with my flash light so they would move. The bathrooms are kept ok, the toilets work, half the urinals work, but the showers were fine. Not hot water.
A true experience into the wild. No electricity or other facilities (except for the very minimal bathrooms) make you feel the nature life. I suggest it for 1 night, not more if you need shower :)
Great campsite, animals around at night, food is good, toilets are basic.
There were lions frequently near the camp and toilets. That added to the authenticity. Would visit again.
No power and no hot water. After that its calm and we had buffalos around the camp.
Amazing place. Nice to have elephants and Lions as camp mates.
48h of pure wildlife in Mpimbi campsite! No power, no Internet, just freedom!
Very good if you want to go on a real caring trip you should go there
Nice place to do experience with sleeping in the middle of wild animals
Camping in the open with giraffes and wild buffaloes for company
Nice place but very dirty toilets.
Wild and real camping in Serengeti.
Very loveless campsite, dirty and run-down sanitary facilities. To pay $ 30 per person per night on top of the extreme Serengeti entrance fees is ridiculous.
Enjoy camping in the middle of the Serengeti. We have spent 1 night at Pimbi Campsite, in the center in the Seronera area, and 2 nights at Lobo Campsite, to the north. Seronera is the center of operations of the park and where the main lodges of the tour operators are grouped and where all the Serengeti services are grouped with several public camps. The Pimbi is a basic camp in the middle of the savannah but enough, they have sinks and showers of cold water, a building in function of dining room and a building where the cooks of the different safaris are installed. The advantage of being in the center of the park (Seronera) is that the night passes a truck-bar so that people can buy drinks, because here we try our first beer Serengeti.
Camping correct.
Field in good condition
