It’s definitely the best choice in Zanzibar. We’ve compared with all the other hotels in the island and Sazani Beach Lodge was by far the best :- the beach, which is just beautiful and not crowded- the garden that is wild and beautiful,- The rooms that are very nicely decorated, simple but cozy- The staff is incredibly gentle, cheerful and helpful- The location combines both proximity to places where to hang out but is away from crowded beaches- And the owner’s two dogs are so cute and friendlyThank you for having us!CheersAnastasiya & Viet

We visited Sazani in Mai 2019 and were fairly disappointed. We decided to leave after one night.+ stunning view on the beach+ private beach like in paradise+ awesome laid-back bar+ nice staff, Manager (Omar) and Owner (Nas)But theres a lot that was negative:- the place is undergoing renovations and it’s far from being finished- overgrown garden and in general the place is in bad shape- restaurant was closed due to Ramadan and we were only told upon arrival. Other restaurants are in Nungwi, which is a 20 walk or 15.000 tsh taxi ride- it’s been raining a lot and the roof in our room was leaking. So our stuff got wet. Room in general is small, dirty and overpriced. Shower has only cold water and bad lights. Pillows are too hard and there is no bedside table.- dogs trying to get into our room at night and scratching at the doorI don’t want to moan too much about it - we also came in low season and had bad luck with the weather. But the place is not priced as a 15-dollar hostel and for this it’s just too run-down. However, the place has great opportunities and is definitely charming. So I hope the owner will manage to make it nice again one day.
