Kizimkazi has a different vibe and Coco Reef a unique atmosphere. I would always return to a place like that. Sandrine, David, Amis and Zachario and all the team made me feel very special. I recommend this place for travelers in search of a genuine experience and great care.

Worst hotel ever. The owners tried to cover the lack of hospitality and cleanliness under a layer of misinformation and arrogance.Staff did their best,but dirt and lack of maintenance dominates

Beautiful quiet place. Breakfast they accomodated our vegan and gluten free needs.Why an eco place sells plastic bottled water?The price is probably more about the view.Its just a bit run down and would need a good dose of maintenance. Moskito nets are ripped and dusty. Pillows on chairs are holy. The room was dark. One of the huts got wet during the rain. The owners were kind but had more excuses than solutions.If you are paying cheap prices this is fun and rustic but for the price we think it was not really matching. We left early.

I was in Zanzibar for a couple weeks and I stayed all around the island and I can honestly say that Coco Reef was the best place I stayed on the island. Especially considering the hospitality!I stayed in one of the gorgeous elevated bungalows, it had a full private bath, and a large comfortable bed with the standard African mosquito net that somehow looks romantic in these cute thatched roof quarters and there was even a private balcony overlooking the gardens or the beach depending on which bungalow you are in as well.They serve a hot complimentary breakfast, and sell beer and the other usual needs and they will even send an employee to the store in town if you have a special request.Everything is located directly on a swim able beach where the lodge has lounges and a beach bar too.The owners are great people who also know a great captain, so if you want to swim with a pod of wild dolphins, or go snorkeling they can hook it all up for a reasonable price, and the sunset dinner Captain Alli prepared for us out on a sandbar in the ocean was delicious, and about the most romantic thing I have ever done!I will make a point of staying here again next time Im in Zanzibar!

The friendliest staff we encountered our whole time in Zanzibar. Great food and beautiful view of the ocean. The private beach is amazing. This place is a winner 🏆.

A lovely stay in wonderfully built Makuti bungalows on stilts. David the owner is great and informative. We really enjoyed breakfast at the open air kitchen which was made by the local chef. The chapatis and pancakes were delicious! A very peaceful place! We will definitely return.

It is a nice place for family holiday, it has perfect sea view, perfect beach for swimming, nice garden and most of all its owners, Mr. David and Ms. Sandrine are kind and very charming. Will vist here whenever, I go to Zanzibar. Thank you it was one of my best experiences.

We followed our instinct and booked Coco Reef Eco lodge although it did not have a lot of reviews on line. And I am so glad we did as it was one of the top hospitality experiences ever! The place is stunning and such a natural beauty! The bangalow are so unique and cosy, simplicity and elegance are the right words to describe! There is a wonderful beach in front, kind of private and quiet! The owners, David and Sandrine, are the perfect hosts, caring genuinely and organizing everything for you with only real interest that you will love your stay in the island! The Masai working at the resort are like family, they all make you feel part of this family and they organize beautiful bonfire evenings, dinner under the stars and music and dances and trips and they organize almost everything for you! We cannot wait to return! So thankful for this unforgettable experience!

Bungalow with sea view great for relaxing. Absolute calm, no beach vendors, very remote. Short walk at low tide to the town, shops and restaurants. For Dala Dalla drivers it is best to write paper in capital letters - so it works great - even when changing trains

Two days there, we would have known we would have done more! A very nice welcome, good advice, a very friendly and very honest excursion organization. A little corner of paradise, calm, relaxing. Very good food. Its like home!
