Such a beautiful oasis hidden in Kizimkazi.Beds are good, it is a small retreat in a perfect arranged garden. The food did not match our expectations, but thats it.Very quiet, nice pool, everything is only a few feet away. Very friendly staff.You can find groceries in the village three minutes away.
For the price we experienced much better hotels with better welcoming. Usually hotels with this price serve you drinks at the reception this one didn’t even offer water, as we came a long way. The service in general wasn’t professional. They didn’t offer free water at all, we went for a shop over 10 minutes walk as the hotel sells water for much higher price.The restaurant has a slow service, we waiting 1 hour for the food. Only one girl was serving around 10 tables. Also the portions are too little for its price.The room wasn’t very clean, when we opened the fridge there was a left over drink.We checked out at 9:30 am, went to the blue safari. Came back to take our luggage at 4 pm and they’re not allowing us to leave the hotel because they lost the room key and kept asking us if we had it... it’s was frustrating.When we were about to leave we found out that residents of the hotel are able to use bicycles for free.. we were extremely disappointed that we weren’t informed about this upon check in.However, breakfast was nice and I appreciate how trustworthy the Masai was as I forgot my phone in the room after checkout and he brought it to me.

The whole experience in Aya Hotel, from the moment of arrival is just negative. First off, they did not realize there was a booking made and the room was not ready. There was no water in the sink, toilet or shower and we were told it will get fixed soon . The next time frame was 15 min . When it was not fixed then , we were given a key to another room to shower . Meanwhile, HK left the door with all our belongings open. The person handling operations ( We have been told his name is Simba) expected us to move with our personal belongings from one room to another until the original room gets fixed without giving us any time frame ( and we only booked our stay for 3 nights). When we tried to exit the second room on the first morning after arrival, we were not able to turn the key in the key whole and the key broke itself. After several more complains and waiting ( As there was still no water in the first room and now the second was not usable, we still had to be just pushed around the two rooms if we needed the toilet or shower and not be afraid of our personal stuff) we finally got another room at 1:30 pm on our second day. That was also after a very bad mishandling of the situation by the operations director. We have heard words like he forgave us or that he is doing his best when we had to approach him every time to get any information on how much longer we will have to wait. Additionally to that he did not appreciate any feedback, being rude and fightful. There was no expression of being sorry for the situation. Every time I tried to speak to him, he was trying to walk away. When asked for a contact for a person above him, he refused to give any contact. On arrival we were told we have to pay for the reservation upfront and we paid in cash. One of our cards got also saved in the system for any payments not made during stay. Basically it seems like there is no help and no complain chain that is working in this hotel. We were not given any apology, in a form of words or a nicer room, or any other service. Another negative thing that happened at the very beginning was the fact that the operations director didnt initially want to let my puppy in, even tho in the description of the hotel it states its pet friendly. He eventually did not make any further problems with that only because at the same time he was dealing with another complaint of arriving customer.Going further with the description of the stay, the meal portions were small and the breakfast menu ( even tho when asked first, the waiter said everything apart from priced ítems is included) was mostly not available. Same with certain drinks from the menu like coconuts and cider. In general, there was lack of communication, no preparation and really poor customer service skills by top management.Paulina and Lana
If you like a good night sleep, book elsewhere. They have these super bright cold white LED lights everywhere around the resort. I could read a book in middle of the night in my room. What a pain in the ***.

We were in one of the standard rooms, and since the aircon and the fridge were both defective, they upgraded us the Sunset Villa. The villa is just amazing. Next time well book the villa for sure.
Aya beach is the place to go if you want to disconnect from the daily hustles. Very quiet and peaceful. To help you disconnect there are no TVs in the room, WiFi is weak so you will not always find yourself online but its sufficient for basic use. Not much to do for kids, ideally this place is great for adults. Beach is beautiful and clean white sand. Meals are prepared well, the staff are very caring and will go to any length to make special meals that you may request. Hotel is very basic do not expect a lot of luxury

Awesome place! We stayed for 2 nights, everything was good, and I liked the area a lot. A big highlight was - understandable and friendly stuff who are working there. Beautiful hotel and good service
An excellent resort in Kizimkazi with amazing views, helpful staff, right on the beach. It has a swimming pool, restaurant/bar, massage facility and trips can be arranged for all the major activities (dolphins, snorkelling, fishing etc.). We werent comfortable with the stray cats and a dog (left behind by one of the previous guests) that would come in the restaurant every time we would eat there. But stray cats are a nuisance in majority of places across Zanzibar. We stayed in the only sea-view Bungalow on the resort that had an open-air toilet, a lot of people like the open air toilet but we didnt! Overall a nice experience, would go back if we were in Kizimkazi.

Loved that it is right by the beach, rooms were clean and it was relaxing. the staff were very nice especially a young slim lady at the restaurant, her name is Ashura I think (pardon the spelling), she was simply delightful. The food ordered off the menu was very nice and Manager and staff were always ready to help. Loved the fruit platter that accompanied the breakfast. They made our stay comfortable and I would love to visit again.Breakfast was boring (toast/ pancakes, 2 eggs, cereal, coffee/ tea) it was the same thing for the duration of the stay, Internet was epileptic and no WiFi in the room, thankfully, they gave a portable WiFi for a few days. Portion of food ordered came out small especially when two people order the same meal, I brought this to their attention and it was rectified but it happened several times during our stay.
Weve been here 3 times for dinner and lunch. There is no other place around to go so we didnt had a choice....First time the food was really good, we ordered small dishes to share; chicken strips, fried gambas and chicken sandwich. We could not order extra fries because we didnt order a maincourse.... strange, but ok. We had the best view ever, but because we werent hotelgasts we didnt felt very welcome. That night one of us became sick...The 2nd day we ordered tuna salad and pasta carbonara with unpeeled gambas. After dinner the other one became sick, directly puging and diarrea...The 3rd day we had no other choice so we went back. We didnt want to order prawns because we thought that was the problem. So we ordered tuna steak, this was overcooked. Then the chicken sandwich, fine but cold because we had to wait over 45min to get our mayonaisse and ketchup.Then we had the chicken salad and the chicken was absolutely raw.Its a good place for the view but the service is really bad and the food is making you sick.

Located in the most south east side of Zanzibar. In Aya Beach Resort. View is awsome, opened at beach front. Good customer service, very friendly and helping staff. The food is perfect and well cooked. They serve alcohol and other beverages. Price is moderate. Over all everything is perfect except location hard to find, no signs.

Hello,Ill tell you about our stay here in Aya Beach bungalow.It is really beautiful here the people are totally hospitable. We had a bungalow with a sea view (number 12). The rooms have nets around the beds. (From time to time you see geekos or lizards, no idea what kind of animals they are in the room, but they dont do anything). The bathroom is open, so we were watched by animals every now and then 😂. Breakfast was included and delicious. The people here in the restaurant are tooootaaal friendly.The only critical things are: At the beginning when entering the country, she wanted to have paid any additional fees. (Total €1,200 or so) I dont know if that was a misunderstanding, but we had already paid everything and then just showed them the loan statement. Please be careful and follow up carefully.And the WiFi is really not great, I would recommend buying a SIM card for €25 when you arrive. 10GBKizimkazi probably has the cleanest sea. As in other hotels, when you check in you are not treated to cocktails, most of them are broken in the rooms, broken mosquito nets, outlets do not work and, taking advantage of the fact that the store is far, high prices in the restaurant, but not tasty or fresh food and small portions. And, attention, in the photo everything is not true, not tvkie beautiful and cozy rooms and it is impossible to rest during the day, there is construction and loud noise. We went to rest from white people, but here runs a crazy White hostess and only her can be seen and heard. After communicating with her, the staff loses all mood to work. The hotel staff even said that she forbids them to communicate in their native language and constantly fines them, but my husband and I always gave them tea whenever possible and asked our compatriots from Ukraine to give them tea. Hello everybody. Do not come here, you will ruin your holiday. I was with a friend from Ukraine to Aya beach and this is not a vacation, but a nightmare. I will not explain what exactly, but then we realized what it was. There the owners came from Europe and they scoff at the staff, hence the nightmare, not the rest. We saw how a tourist from Russia was also resettled, he yelled at them, then said that this was the fifth time, because he had arrived himself, without a reservation on messengers. Book everything through instant messengers, so that later you can collectively block such a hotel where it is impossible to live. There are many good hotels in Kizimkazi. The best hotel ever! I just loved my 10 days at Aya Beach Bungalows. Its a little paradise on earth. The hotel is cozy, the rooms are basic but you feel wonderful. There are not many bungalows and not many hotels around, giving us the impression of being alone in the world when we want to go for a swim in the sea or just walk on the beach. Last but not least, the staff is awesome and caring. I highly recommend this place.Small clarification to its importance: we had taken the family bungalow (sea view) with its bathroom open and we had two snakes in the bathroom on our 10 days.
We paid $ 200 US one night or $ 600 in total for three nights, to have a Bungalow with a sea view We arrive and find ourselves with a damp, small, dark old bungalow at the back of the garden with a view ... on the pool! We therefore ask to see the owner because there is clearly an error ... but after a long discussion she asks us to cancel our Booking reservation so that she does not have to pay any fees and asks us to add an additional $ 150 to get the famous bungalow with sea view; we are tired and want a good vacation so we accept.So we have the famous Bungalow, which is a disappointment (apart from the view which is superb) but the fridge is leaking, there are yellow stains on the mosquito net and as regards the bathroom outside, the sinks are clogged nothing is flowing ...The food is mediocre not to say bad .... Anyway go your way, we subsequently stayed in another much much cheaper hotel with a sea view and we had a sea view, delicious food, nice staff, clean room!
