Despite COVID, we were able to travel from Sydney to Tanzania and do a safari with Lion King Adventures in December 2021. Nick and Pendo helped us put together our customised 6 day itinerary covering the Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorogoro and Lake Manyara - they were highly responsive and made the process seamless. They have a flexible COVID cancellation policy. Our guide, Peter, is a passionate, knowledgeable and highly experienced guide. We were able to see the big 5, the elusive serval cat, and Peter made it his mission to help us spot many baby animals. We were also pleased with the food on the tour - lunches in particular were hot lunches and not boxed food. Would recommend choosing Lion King.

My mom and I booked the Machame route to Kilimanjaro summit and loved it. Saladin and Abby were our guides and they were fantastic. They made us feel safe and comfortable. I’m glad that my friend and I choose Lion King Adventure for our safari. The organization was very smooth with Pendo, taking into account our expectations and our budget to create the perfect safari. We only had to manage the international flights to come and go back, that’s all! Even when my friend got the Covid just the day before our flight, they were so flexible and understanding to postpone everything a month later.Our guide David was so kind and experienced, explaining to us so many interesting things not only about the animals but about the culture as well, bringing us to the best places to see animals and taking care of our wishes to do everything to please us. We had the chance to see the Big Five and even more thanks to him.Our jeep was really comfortable (even washed every day!), with binoculars, electrical outlets, sunroof, fresh water at disposal. Our accommodations were well chosen, in the spirit of what we had in mind, with friendly and helpful staff. Our meals were great as well, even the lunch on the road - not boxed food or sandwiches, real hot lunches.We are so grateful for this amazing trip, meeting great people, seeing all these animals, enjoying every minute. Booked a customized 23 day trip to Tanzania that consisted of Mt.Kilimanjaro, safari, tribe visits, and beach stay in Zanzibar. We worked with Nick, and had the pleasure of being guided by Ozzie, Saladini, + Abdi. Nick was insanely accommodating; the timing of our trip, my accommodation requests, and the specific itinerary that I wanted to follow. Our trip flowed seamlessly, we saw and learned so much, and felt at ease knowing they were just a text or call away. Their team has extensive knowledge in their fields and are as professional as they are warm. Highly recommend!

A fabulous experience from the Lion King Adventures team.One of the most important things that you have to know about them is that they offer an excellent service, you will not be disappointed.Nick and Pendo helped a lot in building the itinerary at the beginning and arranged everything before the start of the Safari. They helped us in making the right choices for the lodges and adapted the schedule to our needs. Most of the companies are not so flexible and they work on the take it or leave it principle whereas Lion King really wanted to listen and fulfill our needs. Great job!Once we had that sorted out and we started the Safari, Abu (our guide) took the lead and he was as fantastic as Nick and Pendo. Again, very flexible, knowledgeable, he told us tons of stories about animals, safari or the history of Tanzania, really a joy to talk to him. He helped us with spotting the animals or the birds as well which made our life way easier. This guy was awesome!As we took also a 1 day hike on Kilimanjaro we had the opportunity to meet with Saladini (our mountain guide and for sure our lead for the Kili trip) and again, a great person. Very knowledgeable, he shared tons of info about the mountain, how to climb Kili and about flora and fauna, we learned so much from him as well.Overall these people are fantastic! They try to satisfy all your requirements while keeping a good margin for them as well, the guides are giving 200% in sharing the knowledge and making sure you feel great during the journey from every aspect from driving, guiding to adapting the schedule when its needed and always being flexible.I have rarely had such a good and pro service from a company and I have rarely seen so many dedicated people in one place. Congrats to James, the owner of the company to whom we gave one advice:Keep these people together!Lastly:- the car is well-equipped for the Safari and comfortable- the food offered by Lion King during the safari is more than sandwiches, you get real hot meals, coffee, tea, water, beer- the lodges have a good to excellent standard of service and certainly above what I did see in other places in Tanzania- Abu washed the car almost every day, it was so spotless. We did not ask for it but we were impressed by the fact that he did this.- The only suggestion that I would make is to offer the possibility to have also 1 meal with local Tanzanian food (the food we got during the trip was very good and tasty but mostly European/US food and I was very curious to eat some Tanzanian food as well)- there is little that I can say more, just use this company to have a wonderful time while in Tanzania, I for sure will come back to do a Kilimanjaro trek with them.

Its not uncommon to have car troubles, considering the types of terrain we were navigating, and we did get stuck in a few ditches, but thats all part and parcel of the driving tour.In the end we got exactly what we expected, we saw everything from lions, elephants, cheetahs, crocodiles, hippos and countless other animals in their natural habitat. Each campsite ranged in their facilities, but all were absolutely fine and the staff were always very friendly and helpful.We would recommend Lion King Adventures to anyone looking to experience the same.

We booked a 7 day safari in Tanzania plus 1 day Kilimanjaro trek with Lion King Adventures in July 2021. The booking process was so easy and the Lion King office made sure we received a personalized package for what we wanted to do and see. Shoutout to Nick and Pendo for that and for giving us full updates on the Covid situation and ensuring full safety measures.The best part of the safari was our guide who welcomed us at the airport and was there with us throughout. Ozzie was so knowledgeable, fun to talk and accommodating, getting us through the national parks and each location safely. He made sure we got to see everything we wanted, from lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles, hippos and countless other animals in their natural habitat. He also changed the route and our hotel to ensure we get to see the “Great Migration”. Each campsite parters ranged in their facilities, but all were absolutely beautiful . Our personal favorites were Maramboi and Lake Manyara Kilimamoya. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. People in Tanzania everywhere are so friendly and the country is so beautiful with high quality neat and clean facilities.On the last day we did meet the owner of Lion King seeing feedback on what else can he do to make the experience of future travelers even better which is such a nice thing to do .We would highly recommend Lion King Adventures to anyone looking to have a great experience 👍🏻👍🏻

Lion King Adventures gave us the dream vacation and memories that will last a lifetime! From start to finish, working with them was a pleasure and I cannot highly recommend them enough. Our exceptional safari experience was largely made by our guide, Richard and we are eternally grateful to have been paired with him. Richard is really the one who made our trip outstanding, unforgettable, and undeniably perfect. Very rarely do you leave a vacation, let alone a safari, feeling like you saw and experienced everything you wanted. Richard delivered us everything on our wish list and more. In 4.5 days of safariing, we saw 86 lions, over a dozen cheetahs, 3 leopards, 3 rhinos, 2 serval cats, 100s of elephants and giraffes, and the wildebeest crossing the Mara River in the north. This was in large part to Richards eagle eyes and skill on the radio. We saw the Big 5 with the last animal we needed being the leopard. Richard made it his mission to find me that leopard and he found us 3. Richards wealth of knowledge is outstanding. He was an encyclopedia on animals, plants, and Tanzanian culture. He taught us Kswahili and spoke impeccable english. My husband has gone on 4 safaris previously in Tanzania, Kenya, and Ethopia and said over and over again Richard was the best guide he has ever had. We started the trip as a guide and passengers, and left the trip feeling like we found a lifelong friend. I cannot recommend Richard enough and would request him if you have the opportunity. He will make you fall in love with Tanzania, and the animals and people who have pleasure of calling it home.Our experience was also a raging success in large part to Pendo, who organized our trip from start to finish. Always responsive and willing to help, she made booking the safari a breeze. From suggesting activities, to lodging, to organizing our COVID tests, Pendo did it all. All of our lodging was outstanding including the Heritage Lodge which was a glamping experience. For being out in the bush, their food was by far our favorite! We also would highly recommend doing the hot air balloon ride through Miracle Experience in the Northern Serengeti. It was one of the big highlights for the trip.Asanti sana Lion King and Richard!
