I lived a year in India. The familiar high pressure of ordering more than you want combined with a lean bowl of vegetable soup that looks nothing like the menu and is without the stated ingredients can be overlooked for taste. Value is not what I am looking for. Good vegetarian food and service. To the plus side they let you relax and eat. This is not how it is done in India. The Dall Palak is very very good. Some may say it is salty. But the flavor comes out nicely. Spicy is not included. Despite the request to make it spicy. This is understandable with all the tourists. The wait is an hour for soup. But it takes awhile to cook and is well worth the wait. The price is very reasonable. 4000TNS for the vegetable soup and 10,000TNS for the Dall Pallak.I returned a week later and they simply ignored my presence. I firmly believe it is not my job to announce I am interested in a table and a menu. Everyone was waiting for food. Not one customer had anything in front of them. And an argument was occurring at the counter. I left after waiting about 5 to 10 minutes. Ridiculous. Silk house is 10 times better. Next door. INDIAN as well.
Bad service, frozen food, small portions. A big tourist scam. AVOID there are a lot of better restaurant outside the touristic zone of Stone Town
Very good service, but unfortunately the food is tasteless. Actually its my first time to get disappointed with Indian food.
The worst Indian food I have ever eaten . Everything tasted like straight out of cans and old . No flavors. Such a shame with the name of Krishna and vegetarian based. The best thing was the mint sauce and samosas ( lentil based) but still just alright. The curry had this weird consistency like its been microwave. Mushrooms , green beans straight out of can.The price they charged for these are not OK.Avoid!
Great vegetarian food for great price. Our favorite restaurant in Stone Town
Have been a regular customer of Krishna Food, which serving an only vegetarian menu with refreshing lasi, nice appetizers and their tally is very nice with probably the best roti in town. Recommended.
Tastes like home ! Good quality Indian food :) with very friendly service.
This resturant has many vegan options. The food is always tasty and fresh. The have a wide variety of spirits, wine, beer, and best of all non alcoholic brew. This is the best food Ive tasted since arriving on the island.
Nice , decent place to dine for vegetarians.Owner is friendly.Sweets and mixture/namkeen are very good.Prices are reasonable.Service is fast.Location is very near to all the beach side hotels in zanzibar.Situated between ferry terminal towards stone town. Has many ATM nearby.
Amazing Indian food in whole of Zanzibar & Dar es salam.I am here in Tanzania for more than a week now, possibly visited every Indian restaurant and was disappointed with the taste. But Krishna food was no doubt better than my expectations, worth for money & very good hospitality. I would say -if you are looking for Indian vegetarian menu must visit Krishna. Cheers 🤗
I really appreciate with the food that Krishna food house providing. We have been 10 people they have treated us like family. Food is awesome
Trust me, staying in Zanzibar so long we found this restaurant when we were looking for a spa..And I found this restaurant , I couldnt resist myself and entered, wanted to have some light snacks. But the owner got us a bowl of daal just to taste,I and I changed my mind from snacks to full plate thali even after eating my lunch.. will definitely would want to go again when I visit this restaurant. Its clean and good people. And also reasonable. He will also serve you his best pickles and spices he got specially from India. Thanks for the experience. ☺️☺️
Amazing staff, so friendly and welcoming. Great prices, cold beer and the best thali Ive had outside of India .
They served us a biryani that was too old and had a funny smell. Also the cauliflower Tikka masala barely had any cauliflower in it - it should have been called onion Tikka masala. They replaced the bad biryani with jeera rice. The waitress was nice and friendly though.
Great Indian food! Large variety and quick service. Everything we had was very good.
Great place for s tasty indian and Gujarati delicacies in Zanzibar.
I ate several times at Krishna Food house in 2017.never forget. Best food I ever tasted 😱 and Vegan ✨
So you are in Zanzibar and want to eat pure vegetarian food. Perhaps, to go a further step and try Gujarati food? This is the place to be.Some have had mixed reviews, but be sure to tell them your preferences while ordering (if you like spicier dishes). The food always felt freshly prepared, you are bound to meet slot of tourists in this restaurant.1 tip, for the first visit, order the thali.Thank me later.
Really disappointed with the food. They had stale butter on the butter rotis, and we had ordered 20 of them...The potato in the Dum Aloo was half-cooked, making it hard to eat. Overall utter disappointment. Had very high hopes about it when I found a vegetarian restaurant in Zanzibar.
The best and the only pure vegetarian restaurant in Stone town. The staff are nice and friendly. The food is delicious and to the top standard. Highly recommended.
Okay if you are desperate, vegan, and in the mood for fried food. They told me that wine was not available by glass - only by bottle. The inside of the restaurant is dingy and lackluster. But they have vegan food, which is always appreciated.
Generally tasty food, good value, but service a little slow.
The most likely place to enjoy real Indian cuisine in Zanzibar.
