Very reliable taxi service. We booked all our trips for 3 weeks with friendly taxi, they were never late, on the contrary, 30min here in advance most of the time. Lukman and his team were also very nice and never missed a chance to explain us Zanzibars history when we were passing a place or a a monument. Thank you guys!

I was taking it super easy, so I didnt have a taxi arranged beforehand. All in all, it might have been a mistake to not plan in advance, but I like going with the flow and unforeseen adventures, so, as usual, I got lucky - I stumbled upon Lukman at the airport when I arrived and it was all about positive emotions from there on.All the guys in the Friendly Taxi team (Lukman, Ali, Iddi, Abuu, etc) were excellent. Punctual, polite, smart, knowledgeable and whats most important - easygoing and fun.I had airport transfers and a daytrip with them (Spice + Prison Island + Stone Town) and during all these rides and trips there were lots of laughs and also... history and language lessons :D I think now Im almost fluent in swahili. Ha!No matter who the guide or driver was - everyone was very poa kichizi kamandiiiizi :DMy whole Zanzibar trip was just awesome and I have to say a warm Thank you to the FTaT team for being a part of the good times.

I contacted Lukman via WhatsApp about a week prior arriving Zanzibar to have our transfer arranged from the airport to the hotel and everything worked more than perfect as agreed upfront.We also did the Stone Town tour (Iddi as driver and Abuu as guide) and when it unfortunately was time to leave Zanzibar, Lukman’s brother took us back to the airport safely and on time as all our experiences with Lukman and his team. We were travelling with guys everytime we needed a drive to somewhere in Zanzibar because drivers are really nice, friendly and talkative (ina a good way) :) we had the opportunity to travel with Lukman (boss), Sulejman and Iddy :) such a nice all of them. During the transfer they can tell you more about the island, culture, cousine, sightseeing, etc.also the prices are reasonable and you can always count of them (e.g. when you say meet me at 10am, the driver will be there 9:45am. always at least 10-15min prior :) )I wish you guys best of luck because youre doing it great !see you next time we will visit Zanzibar

Luukman is so, so amazing — professional, well priced, incredibly accommodating, and so kind. We used his service for two transfers, from Stone Town (our hotel) to Nungwi and then a few days later from Nungwi to the airport. He greeted us both times with a huge smile and amazing service. Lukman was an absolutely incredible driver! My flight got canceled, and there was a lot of chaos at the airport, and he just so happen to be there. My dad was hesitant of me taking a taxi alone, since I had spent the whole trip with my boyfriend, but Lukman reassured the safety and protection that I would have. He took me back-and-forth from the hotel multiple times, even when I had lost my luggage. Great prices, great heart, and great service! I wish I would’ve met him at the beginning of my trip, but when we return, he will be our number one transportation choice in Zanzibar!

We took a lot of tours in the 2 (two) weeks we visited Zanzibar. All of the tours were wonderful. Our drivers got us to our tours on time and they answered all of our questions. After 16 hours of travel we finally arrived at Zanzibar Airport, only to find that our pre-arranged driver wasnt there to pick us up. With no possibility to make a phone call we were basically stranded. While we waited for almost an hour we were approached by many taxi drivers looking to make easy money off our situation.The only person who offered us real help was Lukman of Friendly Taxi & Tours. Instead of harassing us with good price, my friend like the others, he offered to make a phone call for us. While we were suspicious at first, we soon realized that Lukman was really there to help. We ended up driving to the hotel with him after he tried his best to contact the missing driver and even waited with us for another twenty minutes.Turns out driving with Friendly Taxi & Tours was a fantastic decision. The drive to the hotel was very pleasant. We had several laughs when Lukman told us about the places we passed, the local history (ask him about Behole), and how life on Zanzibar is. What looked to be a bad start into our holidays turned out to be a very nice one.After booking a roundtrip to Stonetown some time later, we decided to also book our final dropoff at the airport with Friendly Taxi & Tours. Lukmaan approached us as soon as we arrived at the airport to offer us services. We called on him for all our other trips during our stay (Nungwi, Jambiani, stonetown…). I was in Zanzibar for 5 weeks and every time I took a taxi from “Friendly Taxi & Tours”. Most of the time, Lukman drove me. Definitely the best taxi rides on the island. Super friendly, always on time, air-conditioned cars, clean and a price that didnt make you feel ripped off. They even always came in with me and made sure that I arrived safely at my hotel and only then did they leave again.
