It was very interesting to learn about Princess Salme. However, it’s very sad that the guide lets everyone touch the actual artifacts and personal belongings of Princess Salme, because those items will eventually be worn out and cannot be preserved anymore for future generations to see.

The best historical experience in Zanzibar. The guide is very knowledgable and passionate so it is a great pleasure to listen to the fascinating stories about Princess and Zanzibar itself that he shares. Definately must do in Zanzibar.

Spend two hours in the museum consisting of only two rooms, get involved with the fascinating, ever changing life of Zanzibari princess Salme in an excellent guided tour and leave with the feeling, that this story deserves way more attention, if not a Netflix series.

Taking the time for the guided tour is well worth it. Although a small two-room museum, the guided tour unpacks a cornucopia of history, passion, and intrigue of a woman whose life sat astride two very different times and two very different worlds. The curator brings Princess Salmes fascinating story to life with insight into different perspectives, interplays of power, culture, and gender and the end of an era...Afterwards, accent the experience by treating yourself to a drink or meal at the charming rooftop terrace next door.

A great museum about a fascinating woman. I would absolutely recommend the tour guided by Said, who with both passion and knowledge really made this suprise find a highlight of my visit of Zanzibar town!

What a wonderful museum! This was one of the highlights of our stonetown visit. Said is an amazing guide and Id urge you to take the guided tour rather than wander around the two rooms yourself. Hes incredibly knowledgeable, very warm and ready to answer any question you may have!

Mrs. Salama Museum, the place is small and does not accommodate a large number of visitors at one time, entry is a small amount, and the explanation is an additional amount, the explanation is excellent, and the exhibits are diverse
