Definitely recommend visiting a kind of market you will never forget the smell of, nor the sight. A market that you will never see in the western world. Definitely don’t buy the fish or meat there for hygienic reasons, but then again the food you eat at the restaurant probably comes from there so yeah hahaAnd if you want to see the sadness of hunted sharks, you see some for sale there as well.. Truly shocked me to see a shark head cut in half..

The Stone Town Market is interesting to see, as I imagine its been around for many years. But beware of any expectations. Very unhygienic for western standards, but fine for Africa... With live animals being slaughtered, flies, smells of the poultry market, fish market, etc. I also saw fruit totally foreign to me, and had a mini spice tour. I dont think Ive said No thank you so many times in an hour in my entire life! Everyone cuts to sell you something!! ☺️

A must if youre visiting town. Just organised chaos but totally worth a few minutes just to see & feel the vibe.

Great experience. Just be sure you know what to expect, it is very informal, not hygienic at all and there arent any clean WCs or toilets available.

I always eat shawarma, my favorite from the place. And sometimes Zanzibar pizza and mishkaki. I always visit this place when Im in Zanzibar. Never get tired of the site, the smell and the food.
