Day trip allows you to see pretty much everything you would staying overnight at a much cheaper rate. They did not answer phone calls so booked through a tour company in stone town. I was surprised fish/seafood was frozen, and I would think given the price and location it would be fresh at least! I could taste freezer burn on the fish which is pretty unacceptable. As others have mentioned reef has suffered terribly- could not see too much on day we were there and boat crossing was pretty scary in the dingy! I dont do so well in boats so this was a tough one for me.

The island is beautiful with the gorgeous coral park where you can see wonderful under water universe, that will leave a spot in your memory of visiting in such a beautiful place.

You are never going to regret being around this place....its so awesome....i enjoyed the service from the tourist guides...and the sea here is so warm....such that when you go for a swim...its very interesting. ..and ive heard there are some minerals which are good for your skin....so if you wont mind ...you may pay a visit around this place....its theee best

Overpriced. Day trip better option than overnight- coral is very bleached unfortunately. Nice setting but does not justify price.

I have been to this island for the 17th time this year and am still excited and curious about what the reef has to offer. This year, I managed to document a parrotfish that has not yet been found and identified in this reef. That was a special moment for me!It is inexplicable to me how a visitor who has seen the reef for a maximum of 90 minutes on a single day pretends to know everything about this reef and its health and then dares to publish it! False statements hit the wrong people!Chumbe, the island and the reef, is a special place. Certainly not for people who believe that the moment they visit them, they will have to show themselves just as they imagine their ideals. And if this ideal does not show itself, of course, others are to blame.People who still have a relationship with nature appreciate this island for what it offers to all visitors: away from mass tourism to get to know habitats that have already been irrevocably lost in many parts of the world. The project management will spend a lot of time and money doing this for as long as possible. Every visitor contributes to it.It is true that climate change has not left the Chumbe Reef without a trace. But for that we (humans) have to show ourselves responsible. Not the management of an island that does everything possible to preserve the lives of endangered species above and below water.I am looking forward to the next visit and I am curious how the reef has regenerated a bit more in this time and what awaits me then new.
