We stayed here and had coffee wove ee made their specialty flavored with spices super good. nice decor that offers total relaxation and professional staff the coffee was so good so bought their cafe which they roasted themselves. a little overpriced though worth a visit
We stayed at Coffee House for one night while passing through Stone Town and experienced the best hospitality we have seen in Zanzibar. We were greeted so nicely by the manager Noreen, our room was upgraded, the hotel left little gifts on the bed and welcomed us on their rooftop with a drink. Highly recommend this beautiful secret spot for a comfortable stay. The head of housekeeping prepared us a delicious breakfast early because we had a ferry to catch. 10/10 - do not hesitate to stay at this hotel. Thank you for having us, we really appreciated the night we spent here and will treasure it as a special part of our visit.
Very nice accommodation.Located very close to everything.Extremely kind and attentive staff.Ultra clean. And the coffee... Dont forget the coffee...Will be back soon.
We only had coffee and pastries on the rooftop. The coffee was delicious, the view was great, the staff friendly and charming, and the decor was warm and authentic. If you stay there, you have more access to the rooftop (its where breakfast is served and its closed to the public after 6 to allow guests to enjoy the sunset).
Loved this amazing little roastery and coffee shop. The pastries/treats were okay - steer clear of the cinnamon roll. However, the setting, coffee and rooftop still make this place a 5/5 - - must visit. Absolutely love their branding and love that they have coffee roasting education sessions twice a week.
Im not a coffee drinker but my husband was obsessed! He wanted to try all of the different blends. The food was phenomenal- we had falafels, samosas and a dessert crepe and, of course, left with some coffee to bring home. Their bathrooms are also impeccably clean. This is the perfect place for lunch when youre out and about in Stonetown.
Nice coffee. A pleasant place with a good cooling sea breeze on the top floor. Friendly staff.
ROOFTOP - I loved this place as we stopped over for a midday coffee. What an experience! The decor, the atmosphere and of course the coffee! We sat at the top where youre above most of Stone Town. The view is awesome and theres normally a lovely breeze which makes it cool. Met some other tourists there and had a great conversation. I could have spent hours there! A definite visit when in Stone Town. 😉
For the price point, I found Zanzibar Coffee House to go above and beyond to make my short stay as comfortable as possible. When I checked in, the manager pointed out that the room I had booked is sometimes noisy at night and offered me a quieter room. She also provided a wifi hotspot for my room in case I needed stronger internet connection, for free. Air conditioning worked well, and lots of filtered water provided in the room to drink. The vibe from the rooftop cafe is incredible with views over Stone Town, and the coffee/breakfast was really good too. While there are plenty of night boutique hotels in Stone Town, for the price, this place was really perfect. Thank you!
This place has literally the best banana pie I’ve ever had in my whole life. If you ever go there, have some spiced coffee as well :)
Very special place. Excellent coffee and food. We stayed only at the rooftopbar, but you can also sleep there
Great coffee, lovely rooftop, quite pricey but worth it
It was a little bit off the beaten track but the servicer was good and food/coffee was above average. Prices were high for Zanzibar.
Coffee always good. I am not sure if management changed here, but the local Swahili feeling seems to be missing......our 10th visit.
This place was recommended to be because of the best coffee in town and it definitely met our expectations. Cute place with nice interior and great views from the rooftop. The coffee selection is wide and my friends were very happy with the double strong cappuccino. I went for ice cappuccino which was good - I guess I should’ve added the ice cream on top as well like they recommended.Worth a visit if you want a good coffee!
This charming little hotel delivers what so many modern hotels miss - it gives a real experience of place. Right in the middle of Stone Town’s winding alleyways, up flights of stairs around a beautiful courtyard, traditional furniture in high-ceilinged rooms, fabulous Tanzanian coffee on the rooftop with beautiful views, and the loveliest people taking care of their guests. I planned to stay 2 nights & ended up staying 10.
A fabulous cafe serving soy lattes and good lunch in the middle of the narrow pedestrian streets of Stone Town.We love the rooftop seating area with its cool breeze and relaxed atmosphere.Their coffee is roasted in house in a beautiful machinery and it is delicious. Not easy to find non dairy milk in Stone Town and we loved the avocado toast which you can customise to your taste. We made our avocado toast vegan and with extra cucumbers and onions and it was a great lunch.
One of the best coffee places that i visited in zanzibar.Usually the standard here is a little lowBut this coffee house surprised me for goodI strongly recommend it for you...
Only had coffee and juice, which both were delicious and reasonably priced. The rooftop cafe is cute and has clean restrooms. Staff is lovely!
Good coffee, nice view from the roof terrace, can be a bit crowded.
We sat upstairs with views over the whole of Stonetown which made for excellent photo opportunities. The service was a bit slow (pole pole) but we had a lovely coffee, it was a good experience and would recommend it.
Stayed here recently. Was very cool and thoroughly looked after by Rebecca and her team. The place is unique and the views from the rooftop above sprawling old town are superb. Great coffee too !
Very good coffee, but extremely rude service
I am sunset hunter thats how I found the zanzibar coffee house. I quite liked the walk to the coffee house the coffee machines and equipments you can find as part of the decoration whilst you ascend to the rooftop. The view out sunset is absolutely worth it and I loved my spiced coffee. Team is welcoming and professional. Good place for a coffee
Cosy sitting area in third floor which has a good view on stone town and one of the best coffees I drink in Sansibar.
Fantastic place. Delicious food & drinks. Warm welcoming staff. One of the women opened up earlier so we could have breakfast before our trip. They never rushed us out. Theres a roof top to sit & enjoy the view. Rooms available for your stay. You can purchase coffee ground & beans
Overpriced place, coffee is quite good but the food was disappointing. Long waiting time and stuff was not so friendly.
Super good coffee, fast service as well. Place is usually very full, but we always found a place to sit. Definitely worth the time to have a great coffee there!
The café has a great selection of coffees, cakes and other nibbles. There is also a roof top seating area with views of the city. It was very pleasant to sit upstairs as it was breezy and actually cooler that inside. There are also coffee roasting sessions (we didn’t take part).Zanzibar Coffee House is a hotel too.
Nice rooftop coffe house wiht nice and fun staff.
Cosy coffee shop nestled in the heart of Stone Town, not easy to find but worth the adventure to wander the streets and see what daily life is like here. Oh yeah the coffee was great too. The ceiling fans helped with cooling us down having been in the humid bustling streets.
Beautiful building, the most delicious aroma of coffee as you walk in the door. Yummy meals and friendly staff.
Maybe a good place to spend some hours at the coffee bar, but not a great hotel unfortunately. Great personnel. When we arrived we were welcomed by a very well prepared and kind receptionist that spent some time with us to take us through the main attractions of stone town. A welcome drink was offered.Once we got to the room, the AC was not running and all windows were open. It wasn’t very pleasant.A bit old fashion and not restored to maintain his magic. Very modest but expensive hotel.
Great coffee and ambience. Friendly staff.
After weeks of average food on the island this place was an oasis of all things good. The coffee was incredible, the food even more delightful. Not giving it five stars only because the consistency was off. One day we ordered an omelet that was half the plate. The next day we ordered the same omelet and it was one quarter the size of the plate; same price...
Nice view, nice drinks, nice food, nice place, nice people! Must see!
Very good coffee, excellent service, and nice views (and breeze) on the rooftop. Recommend!
Good Coffee, great chocolate mousse cake
Great place to spend a few hours relaxing. Coffee was great. Food was also great. The roof deck is peaceful. Great spot to catch a breeze and listen to the school kids practicing their Koranic verses at a Madrasa not too far away. Did not stay here but would like too on my next trip to Z.
Nice well made coffees from the local ladies, and various locations throughout the building to sit and enjoy it. Try a piece of cake to go with it.
Now open again, a sweet little coffee shop with a great staff. I asked for a glass of water from Calvin on the side and he gave me a mountain of ice cubes. They do proper coffee.
I loved this coffee house! Great coffee in a beautifully constructed cafe with very friendly staff. The prices were fair, though the bulk coffee was probably a little overpriced. I will definitely return on my next trip to stone town.
The coffee house has a nice ambience and delicious coffee. We came every day we were in town. The spiced coffee with milk is particularly delicious. The baked goods were also quite tasty.
The coffee was the bestive had in a long while. Sat on the roof terrace, great view of city
Heard a lot about this cafe through many other restaurants and tourists. After noticing it has a 4+ star rating we were very disappointed with our experience. Staff were unfriendly and the service was dismal, seemed like everyone woke up on the wrong side of bed. Our food came late , which we tolerated as we are aware and considerate of “african time”. When our breakfast finally came it was sub par , eggs were hard poached and the bread was not toasted at all. I know this place can do better. Great location , beautiful restaurant, but the service need to be checked.
Brunch!! < 20k tzs for two people, first place that didn’t burn the coffee beans, nicely roasted. If you can, go upstairs to their terrace and have your food/drinks up there, the views are very pretty.
Very good coffee, fantastyczne view. They have reasonable prices do its worth visiting.
We just had coffee here (believe there is a hotel upstairs) the iced coffee was amazing after a long and hot day through stone town. Staff were friendly. Would be nice if it opened earlier but it is Zanzibar after all
Even though the coffee and the food are really good, the relation quality/price is a bit off. Nevertheless, due to its nice atmosphere and friendly staff, it is worth a visit.
First of all, Coffee and passionfruit tart were both good. The reason why I gave 3 stars is the service. I asked if I can bring my coffee to rooftop (myself!) as the coffee was just ready and the lady simply said no. Sometimes small things make a difference...
If youre a coffee person then you will love this place.
We had great time here! Coffee and dessert (we had chocolate cake) were good and friendly staff was also appreciated
It was very crowded. It is really good. There for you find so many people there. Its worth it.Good coffee, good mood.Only cash!!!
Really nice place and good coffee, although expensive when compared with other establishments offering the same.
Great place, tasty coffee and food. Fairly decent price and even better if your are tired of that instant Africafe. Chicken Avocado Sandwich was great, big portion and tasty ingredients. 4 stars because they limit their internet access to 20 mins.
Good coffee. Nice cake and sweets. Very friendly staff.
Great multi level cafe with nice roof top dining area for town views. Coffee was great, waitresses were courteous - enjoyed it.
Good ambiance. Great food and very clean place. Staff were very pleasant and Ill return everytime I come to Zanzibar!
Unfortunately not a great visit. Food was sub par with the chicken almost turning into a paste, coffee was ok but not what you expect from a coffee house. I understand why its popular considering the location but was hoping for more.
Just a good tourist coffee place, nothing to do with local food or culture but nice spot to relax.
With amazing ambience and set in the middle of a maze of alleys, this place offers a glimpes into Zanzibars unique architecture and taste. The only thing Id like them to reconsider is the timing at which you receive the bill. They brought our bill right after we had ordered food which felt somewhat hasty and disrespectful.
Great location & coffee & treats & the views from the rooftop lounge were worth the climb, tremendous
Coffee nice and strong. Cake was good. The chapati had more cabbage then chicken . The manager or owner wasnt the most pleasant of staff however the waitress there were super .
We didnt stay here but we visited the excellent coffee shop. I ordered some kind of cold whipped coffee and it may have been the best coffee Ive ever had!
Very friendly staff. Its a place to be- you can find here the most delicious coffee and food of Zanzibar. 😊👌🏼
Good atmosphere, go for the terrace. And dont get any flavored coffees, their original coffee is too good
