Really great food. We went there twice on our trip and each of the plates we had were just amazing.Bit tricky to find but the Google directions are accurate. The couple running it are super lovely, please go visit them :)

Hands down the BEST meal I had in Zanzibar. What an unmitigated delight. The place was a little hard to find. Fair warning, the road gets rough in the last 100m. But, boy was it worth it. Pretty little garden and the most wholesome tasty meal we had in Zanzibar. If it wasn’t for location, I would have eaten here everyday. Definitely reccommend!!! Can’t promote this place enough.

An absolutely exceptional gastronomic experience where you would not really expect it. Its hard to come across a restaurant if you just wander around, but its worth being guided. A charming environment and a family that runs a restaurant. And the food! Always fresh and perfectly prepared. They only offer what they have fresh. I recommend visiting even if you do not live directly in Kizimkazi.

Hidden treasure of Kizimkazi. Not easy to find but worth the effort. Meals are delicious. Very clean with a mellow atmosphere. Expect to wait around an hour for the food, but this is standard on the island, so relax and hakuna matata.

Long waiting time while they cook your food. I suggest to order in advance, so they are ready for some agreed time. I have ordered the green banana in curry sauce, which was very tasty. Fish was fresh, but bit stiff as for me.

Without doubt the best dinner we have tried in Zanzibar. It really is worth the short walk from the center of Kizimkazi. Don’t get dissuaded by the dark aisles after the sunset - navigation works correctly.

Best meal in Zanzibar! We came to the restaurant for lunch and were treated to incredible flavours, beautifully fresh fish, delightful hosts and a calm environment surrounded by plants and feeding bee eaters. Definitely worth the journey.

Amazing family owned restaurant in a really quiet area away from the beachside resorts.The hosts are really welcoming and like to make their guests feel at home. I had a great tuna with green bananas cooked in coconut milk. Same prices as the other restaurants in kizimkazi but much better food and atmosphere.

Hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. The real taste of the Zanzibar food. Dont let the tiny winding road to distract you from the final destination. You have to wait a little bit more for the dinner to be prepared if you come suddenly. Better call in advance.

A beautiful restaurant in a hidden place away from the village life and from people trying to aggressively sell you everything.Very friendly and helpful staff and excellent local food. Can’t recommend it enough. It is true food takes sometime but it is 100% freshly made and very very tasty. Well worth the wait and you can knock back a few Kilomanjaros in the meantime!!!

We discovered this lovely restaurant by accident and decided to have dinner there later that day. The tables are in a garden like area which is absolutely beautiful by night when the lights are switched on. The couple who runs this place is so lovely and the food is amazing. You should definitely try the green cooked bananas and the byrani!During our stay we went there multiple times and enjoyed every single visit.Like at every other place on Sansibar you should consider ordering your food in advance because it’s freshly cooked and it could take a while otherwise.

Locally-owned, family-run little gem of a place with very welcoming and laid back vibes. The food is among the best we have eaten on the island. Some plates take long to cook and they are open about this. You can call in advance to order.

Definitely not to be missed - such lovely hosts.Id recommend calling/using whatsapp to book and order food a day before. If you are in Kizimkazi, you have to eat at Stone Village. The hosts are very kind and the food tastes amazing! It is such a shame that we discovered it at the end of our stay.

We went to the restaurant at nigh, so we struggled to find it and we were almost giving up, but gladly we did not, the food was really good as well as the service. We had the green banana and the chicken birinau, both very delicious!

A hiden gem close to the Promised Land hotel and the best alternative to the boring food at the hotel. The tiny restaurant is at a beautiful garden, you will listen to jazz music in the background and the food is very very nice and made with a lot of love and care. The owners are lovely people and the service is good. I only recommend you to contact them by WhatsApp to tell them what do you wish to eat, otherwise you have to be very patient as they prepare everything from scratch. I will go back for sure!

Lets start with the fact that majority of the recommended restaurants are all at resorts, nothing wrong with that but more towards seafood platters fish/calamari or prawn with chips/rice etc, nothing really popped up with real traditional food. And then we saw the signs directing us to Stone Village Restaurant. There are 2 signs for stone village restaurant on the main road, which still makes it a little hard to find. Also the Google pin is incorrect best would be to reach out beforew hand and get the directions as its quite easy to reach once you know.Then entering the restaurant area, its like a little gem in paradise. Set in the garden with paper lanterns, soft jazz and 2 tables - private dining experience.The menu was hard to read as we dont know the food terms(also International food available) but decided to go with the chef recommdadtion the green banana and coconut seafood which was absolutely delicious.The service is prompt, and even the chef (lady off the house) came out to say hi.Food like this can only be made with love. Thank you for great food form your home.

We have eaten here 2 times and it was delicious. The small oasis in the hinterland is run by a local family who were very friendly. We ate fish and local chicken, which was only slaughtered on the day of preparation. There was beer and wine with the meal.We can only recommend this restaurant.

Everything is very nice, chamber. Great atmosphere and great food. Friendly and helpful hosts. It is better to contact them in advance by WhatsApp, they will help you to get there and discuss the menu. We lived nearby and stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. The prices are very humane! I highly recommend sea food platter - perfectly cooked seafood, taken for 2x, I think 3-4 will fill up without problems, they give rice with sauce to the load. As stated earlier, ask for a freshly cooked chili sauce that picks up at 5. They are completing another wing for the restaurant, you can tax in big companies :)Very nice and hospitality owner! Fantastic food! Normal prices. You can discuss menu. It is a bit complicated way to get here, but you can contact owner though WhatsApp, he will help you. From myself, recommend to taste Seafood platter (for 2-3 person) and fresh chilly.Good luck in your business!

This is the best restaurant in this part of the island. Small, intimate, not focused on a masquerade. Everything fresh, made for a specific order. The friendly and, above all, honest owners. Here you can try real local cuisine. In addition to standard fruit, they sometimes have, for example, fantastic grilled goat meat. I recommend that you ask for freshly squeezed chillies. It grows here on the island and makes all dishes taste amazing. Its a bit difficult to get there because google map shows the location wrong. One has to follow this sign on the main path. Yes, I know, its terrible but it leads to the goal :-)

A great restaurant, unfortunately or fortunately, a bit out of the way. The food was excellently seasoned, the family who served us were very courteous and got us a taxi to take us home to the Aya beach resort without being asked.
