This Kuza cave definitely worth the visit! Quiet, with beautiful clear blue water, not so cold as we thought (anyway it’s so hot outside!). Rocks are a bit sharp but we didn’t need any special equipment. And don’t be afraid of the little bites that you can feel in the water, nothing that would harm, only bugs!
The staff is super friendly , the area is super clean although the surroundings are unfortunately a bit full of plastic and would need a good clean. The water is cristal clear and if you are lucky enough you can see some nice little bugs walking around. Highly suggested, remember to respect the ecology and take off your creams !
This cave was a nice little surprise! We were lucky and were there by ourselves (for the most part) our guide was super friendly and answered all questions we could come up with! Afterwards the sales people took some tome to teach us a Zanzibarian game (they sold there too, of course) go for a bit! Worth the excursion!
Go make a wish and believe! Such a beautiful experience and Japhar was a great guide. There are bugs but just move around theyre almost harmless. Its Also easily accessible and we were charged $10pp to access. The changing bathroom though is so wanting, no effort at all.
A bucket list item for me!Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be able to experience this. A once in a lifetime experience that I would do again and again, given the chance!
Nice place to go. Beautiful cave with natural lake insight, you can swim there, however we met some biting bugs on water surface. There are also some cooking, drumming and henna lessons on request. The entrance fee is 10$ per person, that’s the way you support children education in the village. Local guys are making music and show you the cave.
You MUST go to Kuza caves, its a really cool experience, the water looks great, u can swim in it, dive bomb in.Its just around 4$ to enter, theres some snacks and drinks when u exit, seperate price. But beware of the tiny little bugs in the water, their not too harmful, but they do bite u when u stay still in the water for too long 🤣.
Steep entrance to the cave, you might want to change to Swim clothings at your hotel / in the car. Nice place if not crowded. Entrance fee was USD 10 / person I believe
Motorbike ride was way more interesting than the cave itsef. Just a dark hole with a bit of water. Nothing special and most importantly not worth the money.
Nice place, make my day to be very wonderful 🥰😍 do not arrive in Zanzibar without visit Kuza Cave
It was overcrowded and way too overprized. 20k entrance fee for a small pond inside of a cave. Rocks were sharp and stay away from the walls, there are tiny bugs that bite .All in all a cool experience, but Ive seen better places in other countries.Might be a great place for instagrammers to take pictures, because thats what all of the people have done there
The price is way too high to see this cave.Charging 10 dollars for basicly nothing. After 15 minutes there is nothing to see or do, only to swim in the cold water. There were some little bugs in the water. If they bite you its a bit painful, but they arent so dangerous.
Wonderful place, I go here several time to wash my body in a fresh underground water inside the cave, not only but also they can offer you a lesson on different things such as drums, dancing, cooking local food and singing I can say they are fantasticThanks you Natalie and your time for a good things keep it up !!!
Amazing experience but some effort should go into making the entrance into the water lagoon to make it easier and safer to enter.
Interesting to visit, but not necessarily worth the entry price of 10USD per person. The water is clear and refreshing for swimming; however there are biting aquatic insects that can take you by surprise! You are limited with how long you can visit the cave, but once youve been bitten youve probably had plenty anyway. There are other activities which take place connected with the cave (dancing and drumming classes) which when combined might make a visit more worthwhile.
Nice caves with beautiful blue water.. the rocks are a bit sharp, so people must be careful
Its amazing place if do you want to visit kuza caves please contact with +255693408882
Sea shoes are a must to freely enjoy the crystal clear waters.
Kuza cave is located south part of unguja island at the places called jambiani which is more famous for its soft sand beaches and most of the hotels are near to the beach...Most of tourist who stay in jambiani or else where in zanzibar they came to visit kuza cave for its natural beauty, pure water and beliefs among the local people. It is believed that if you get the chance to swimm into the water you will be purified and all your bad luck will be gone.
Definitely worth a visit to swim in the cave water.
Loved this magical place. The folks operating it are genuine and fun.
Beautiful place, nice to get a bath there although for the price (10 USD / 20k TZS) Id rather do other things.Brief: a bit expensive for what it is, but cool if ya dont mind the money
A must visit natural place. Very well maintained. Not an easy access to the water but thats nature at its best. Enjoy it as it is.
They charge 10$ per person just to see a cave and they don’t make a discount for families so if you have a family of 5 you pay 50$
Gorgeous! Definitely worth it! Take swimmimg shoes coz the floor is a bit tough on the feet
Its cool cave with water in it..the water is so clean and can be swimmed
Nice place for tourists, historical and achival place 👍👍👌👌🙏
Kindly speaking, the place so amazing. I have been there twice with my tourists , the Cave so clean, the staff so hospitable and the services of satisfactory. To be honest am From Paje but I love the place and especially i am expert on TOURISM AND CULTURAL HERITAGE. I offer 5 🌟 спасибо большое Куза пещера. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Beautiful natural cave with crystal clear water. Make sure to snorkel to see the underwater terrain. A must do in Zanzibar.
It seems my experience was very different to others. I can only guess with the number of good reviews, perhaps we picked an off day to visit. The cave was one of the first on my list to try and I was disappointed and a little uncomfortable. On arrival I was surprised to feel unwelcome by the staff. This was not the welcome I have come to know of Zanzibar. We paid $20 using a $50 and were told we could get our change on the way out. This seemed a little strange and judging by the less than welcoming feel we encountered, we asked if we might be able to have our money before going in to cave. The young man spoke with a lady who was watching while she cooked and returned to say no, we would get our money later. Perhaps this was all we needed to have a less than pleasant experience in the cave. We were told the water and caves were old and when we asked about the colour, was it the minerals in the caves, the answer was no it was just nature. Im sorry to leave this review as I wish the organisers well in their contribution to the community from the money from this but it all felt like a lot of money for a 2 minute dip then leave?
Nice Cave, maybe a little to crowded
A secluded cave 7 minutes walking from the main road. Entrance fee is 10 USD. At the time of our visit we met one couple on the road and another one swimming in the clear water but left as we arrived so we had the cave for ourselves - it was pretty amazing. Yes, there were some tiny bugs biting in the water (they were on the surface) but this happens in the nature, right? If someone wants sterile water, should go to the swimming pool...
Kuza cave is located south east of Unguja Island (Zanzibar) at Jambiani village. This is an ancient sacred cave with clear and clean wate. Was and still featured by countless underground rivers that snake beneath a relatevely flat and and landscape. Its a great a d wonderful experience to swim. Welcome to Zanzibar. I do not recommend going to the place, because of schistosomiasis that can get into your body, after snails living in the water bit your skin. I got my blood test positive for the parasite and the Cave was the only place I took a dip in, while being on Zanzibar.
It is really cool place. When I told a staff that I dont know how to swim, the staff helped me to swim around which was so kind of him. There were tiny bugs that bite us but it was ok. Not poisonous or sth as u can see Im still alive. But still the price of 10USD is bit expensive for what it is in general. Anyway It was worthy for me.
Cave is beautiful but people working over there are not helpful. They just want money from you.
Dont know what the fuss is all about. $10 per person, which is ok provided you have insect-free water that you can swim in. Just like the majority of places in Zanzibar you have to drive off of the main road for 4-5 mins to get here. Ample parking space. When you walk down to the caves it looks nice. Whilst going down I heard a couple saying to each other that they got bitten by some insects. When I reached down people that were just coming out of the water said that they were also bitten. Why cant the management look after this issue? There could be poisonous insects. The guide (from the place) who took us down asked me if I wanted to swim. I asked her what about any biting insects? She completely ignored the question and didnt respond. So not for me, definitely not a place that I would recommend for a swim. For a one time 2 minutes trip down to the caves is ok.
Nice place with natural birds rythm, you may swim in under cave oasis with natulra mineral water, the best place to learn swahili culture, damming and secrets on how to make delicious Swahili dishes, Mozes and Shufaa were so charming, and super friendly, I love kuza cave an I promise soon I will visit again.
Beautiful cool blue water to swim in. The tour operators there seem to charge varying amounts depending on what they think you would be willing to pay which is a bit annoying. Rustic facilities.
Kuza Cave was amazing! The water was crystal clear and refreshing. Moses was a great tour guide! We enjoyed the music and the vibe
Support the local community by visiting this cave, as the australian taking care of the place is also involved at the local school so donations are put to good use. The main attractions are the crystal clear water and the interesting stories about the history of the island.
Such a fascinating place. Bring a diving mask and light that works underwater to see the depths of the cave. Ask them to point out the giant ancient bone calcified into the bottom of the cave under the water line.
Small but worth visiting
Worst place I have ever seen...first the guide dont cooperate and theres nothing to see except for swimming in the cave.. Nothing to exciting...tazari cave is very much better and bigger cave to visit
BEST EXPERIENCE IN ZANZIBAR AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE !The Kuza Caves was one of the best experiences I have had in Zanzibar. The Kuza Caves are based right next to a tiny village and is managed by a lovely lady from Australia who is married to a Tanzanian. She lives there with her wonderful children and she is running a local school to make education better. They also have opportunities for volunteer teachers. Besides visiting the beautiful caves and learning ancient history about the area, they also offer cooking lessons. We visited the caves and we loved the area and the wonderful people so much that we came back the next day for a cooking lesson (Swahili seafood). This was the best meal I have had in Zanzibar. The chef was amazing and showed us traditional Swahili cuisine (we had delicious fish curry with coconut rice and vegetables). We all sat together with the family and enjoyed our dinner whilst learning about culture and traditions.
Great place and great host, NatalieMoney raised from the caves goes towards supporting the local school and villageDont leave the caves without trying a swim, drumming ,cooking or dancing sessionMention Keith for a discount on a group bookingThey do a really tasty lunch too!
Cuza cave are very very beautiful. But the reason why I put just 2* is: they allowed the tourists to swimm in that Cave. Do you know that the same water goes under the ground to the village. That means, that local people drink the same water where YOU SWIMM . Please visit this Cave but dont swimm there. Maybe you will also drink the same water in your hotel.
Interesting to see however its only a small cave with water in it. Not necessarily worth the visit
We was 5 two of us swimmed in the cave only for 5 mins one black guy with beard told us to come out and he forced us to pay 50,000/= and he was so rude we told him its just 5 mins and you are telling us to pay 50 and only 2 of us who swim in the cave and he just went away Fix this Problem (NOT FAIR)
I was at this cave about a year ago with my girlfriend. We found it on tripadvisor, but it only had one or two reviews back then. The lady who had made the accessway and such was not there, but a guy from the house next door showed us the cave.It was really nice and undisturbed.
People who worked for the owner has been a subject of the exploitation in the place that dares to say we help local community. They have been fired and asked to leave immediately - she didnt even care if they have a place to sleep or food to eat. She fired them, because they didnt work enough for the salary of 50-100$ per month. To show you the scale: the entrance for tourists costs 10$ per person... for which the owner builds her own house and pays for marketing of the place of this exploitation. Now she dares to advertise her place with the people that do not even work there and has been treated terribly. Such a shame.
Realy nice place. Happy to find this cave. The stuff is realy nice. You can get a story about the cave and also some swahili music. Then swim in the cave. Tank you so much Natalie for taken care of everyting.
Kuza Cave is a magic place. The water is so pure and the cave itself carry alot of history from acient times. Also the staff working at Kuza cave is so talentet with music💚💜💛🙏✌ bless up
Beautyfull cave and kind people! We were swimming inside and also spend some time chilling, playing drums and relaxing with the locals there.
Interesting place if you want to swim in the cave
It is good place to learn history and culture of Zanzibar. Also place to refresh in underground water by swimming in the cave
Very beautiful place I really enjoy
Interesting, bit overpriced but what isnt at Zanzibar. Take torch, preferably waterproof, and swimming goggles or mask.
Place is nice coz you will get to know short history about Zanzibar, swimming in beautiful a cave, eating Swahili food, drinking, dancing and learning traditional dance, learning cooking Swahili foods....and .uch more
There is nothing to see besides very little water in a cave. Absolutely not recommended for 10$
Beautiful place but not worth it the 10usd of the ticket fee.
Refreshing small cave. $10 entry fee is a total ripoff
