Not much to see here. The ruins are not worth visiting and paying for, it is at most 5 minutes activity. The cave looks good but there is trash in the water making the cleanliness of the water questionable. When they ask for entrance they could at least clean the water.

Wonderful unique experience. Close to Nungwi beach. There were nonother tourists visiting when we were there so it was more intimate.

Great 2 to 3 hours trip for the 2 caves ruins and also the village. Enough to do and see. However to not forget to negotiate the entry price.Only 4 stars because the people in the village were against taking their photos.

After a lot of negotiations we paid about 9 USD per person. Ruins are a waste of time, tour did not include any history. Ruins are freshly repaired with concrete. We have seen only one cave , not two as advertised. Cave is OK, but a lot of trash in the water. Too expensive for what it is. Kuza cave is more impressive and larger. The price for Kuza is 2x less.

There are many caves on Zanzibar but this one is worth to visit because it is not yet spoiled by mass tourism. Beside the cave you will also have a chance to visit Portuguese ruins. If you meet Ali Hassan, local teacher he will guide you and tell the stories. This is also the real chance to support local community. .

Our visit was a bit of a disappointment. Most pictures provided in Google Maps show not this ruin but the other two palace ruins close to Zanzibar Town. So there is not much to see after all. You will get a tour which is not cheap for 20000 Shilling, including the poor village close by where the guide will ask you for more donations. It felt a bit weird and I wonder how much of the 20000 Shilling will arrive in the hands of the village people? The only thing I liked was the cave close by to swim.

The guide was just super, he told and showed everything, even swam with us in the cave. He told everything he knew. The cost is 20,000 which go to the development of the Fukuchani community.Poor people come to swim and get water in the cave. Its water level depends on the level of the ocean and rises accordingly at low tide. The ruins have been partially restored to convey a more complete picture of what they looked like during the time of the Portuguese. They are also protected by a roof.

Very businesslike local guide. Nice pleasant village with its medicinal trees and plants. Fresh mangoes fall straight from the tree for you to eat. A cave with pleasantly cool water that is connected to the sea but the water is not salty at all. Good pampering on a hot day. Shop for candy for children at a local store and you will be carried by hand. Also worth exploring for history buffs. The Portuguese colonial era is well represented.

Very pleasant experience. Our guide Is-Haka showed us the settlement explaining how they live and some of their customs. Later on he showed us plantations (banana trees, lemon trees, etc ..) and we ended up in a giant Baoba. Then he took us to the ruins and explained its history. Then we take a dip in the underwater caves. Finally they offered us local fruit. During the Is-haka journey, he taught us words and songs in Swahili, all accompanied by a small group of very funny children 😃😃

An incredible experience - to visit a real Zanzibar settlement, to see their way of life, to communicate with the residents ... Very nice people. The children were very happy to see tourists (for them it was the same adventure as for us). Afterwards, our guide Bobby took us to a giant baobab, caves with crystal clear clear water and to the ruins of a Portuguese fortress. It was very interesting and informative.Be sure to visit this place! From Nungwi it is easy to get to Dala-Dala. But do not forget that the settlement is Muslim, and women should cover their shoulders and knees when going there.

Very nice place. The guide introduced the local village and the 15th century building. The cave has very clear slightly salty water and you can swim there.

Guys, there is not much to watch hereEspecially if you are arriving on your own. Asking for 2 40,000 shillings. It is very expensive. For this price tag, you will see at most one small cave in which you can swim, but further than the stairs you will not float anywhere, because you cannot. The ruins here are not quite real. Initially, they may have been real ruins, but at the moment it is a converted building with new cement poured. In short, if you just want to spend money, you can come. But honestly, I don’t recommend it.

The place is a bit hidden. It develops from month to month. You can swim in the cave, but the water depth is 4-6 meters !!!The old building is slowly but surely being repaired. The village itself is worth a trip.

An amazing place. Fresh cave water communicates with the ocean. The ruins are protected by the state. We are the first divers to dive into this cave and explore a little of it.
