It’s great restaurant located on the 21st floor of the Golden Jubilee towers in the city of Dar es Salaam. It’s unique revolving feature gives diners a 360 degrees view of the city. It is particularly awesome in the evening/night when the city lights up. The food is just perfect. It’s a great place for romantic dinners.
Great view of the city however was very disappointed with the food. The food lacked flavour, spice and was poorly prepared. E.g. we ordered crispy chicken wings and they were soft. Unfortunately, it seemed like there was more food colouring than actual herbs/spices on the chicken. I would only go for a drink and to experience the view.
Its the best overall view of Dar-Es-Salaam you can get (I think) its on the 21st floor. The floor is moving 360° but you can walk around. I changed 2x from table. Also during my visit there, I noticed people entering and taking pictures without consuming anything. So feel free to enter the building, move up to the 21st floor, take your pictures and leave again. They even have a outdoor smoking area. The good I ate was quite good. I took the chicken curry with rice and a afogatto as dessert. The Margarita cocktail was the best I had here in Tanzania.
Why a wonderful experience! Akemi is simply an amazing stop for an hour or six; revolving restaurant at the top of Dar, with an exceptional staff (especially Miriam, the waitress), if you have chance of stopping here you’ll not be disappointed. The food was 5-star, and the chef prepares so many different things that you’re going to find a flavor that will be exquisite (or even all the flavors, like me). Amazing food. Amazing service. The views are to die for! And the wine selection is top notch. Whether on a tight budget or looking to spend money, you have all options here. I was so supremely happy we spend the day here, especially for the Sunday buffet.
Decent food and great view! It seems to be suitable for a big private function too!Add: Came back after 3 months, and I didnt have data to ensure the Uber arrives without problems. The manager helped me without any fuss, and the waiter went downstairs to see me catch the correct registration Uber car! What a great service! Thanku!!
It is at the 21st floor of Golden jubilee towers. A very good place for private dinner and group meetings. The food is so good and theres a buffet too if you order for a group of people. The buffet is 35,000/= per person. There is a live band too on Friday night. If you dont want to seat at the Revolving segment of the restaurant then you can seat at the counter.
Best for events of large groups. Gives a perfect view of the city of Dar one side shows the indian ocean while another the city in a nutshell...its on 21st floor in one of the buidings in the city center, exquisite decor and warm staff. Good for romantic dinners as well
The only revolving restaurant Dar-es-salaam has to offer...located on one the tallest building in the heart of the city, it offers breathtaking views of the city and ocean alikeAlso has a really nice bar and their pork is just wonderfulBeing the only revolving restaurant in the country...ofcourse its a bit pricey...but definitely worth the moment
Good food, Average Customer service.Average meal costs TZS 30,000- TZS 40,000.Superb View & They have revolving floor(It actually rotates slowly & you’ll have 360 view of Dar es Salaam City).
Its an amazing place you can spend your time rejoicing with friends, family, etc. I liked the view up there, the city, the sea 🤗🤗
Me and my girlfriend with some friends have been here today. Akemi is the only revolving restaurant in dar es salaam. It has great view, good security, its clean everyplace. Akemi is in 21st floor reaching there you need to use lift in Wing B. Hope everyone will be here and they have the conference hall too.
The view from the restaurant is stunning, the revolving floor is a cool gadget (turns pretty past compared to other revolving restaurants), the ambiance is classy, the food really good (I had the green curry and the sauce was so creamy and very well spiced) and the service in the restaurant is charming. However, the professionality of the service could still be improved through proper training of the waiters. Worth a visit!
Tanzanias revolving restaurant. Good selection of wines and the food offerings are wide enough for everyone to find their taste. But pork lovers be warned. Theres nothing for you here.
Beautiful place and the only unique revolving restaurant in Dar es Salaam and food is also so delicous but only thing management to consider is furmigation as my table there was some small cockroaches arising below the dining table some thing I didnt like really was disturbance especially when eating
The food and the ambience was just amazing. The buffet was amazing and youll have a glance of the city and the beach view from the revolving restaurant.
Terrible experienceElevators to 21 st floor had no power, aircons not working and food was ok nothing great
A place worth the experience.Delightful view at night, with exquisite services and amazing customer care.Dare to make your experience worth sharing.
Ever eaten the same meal in different locations at the same time??? Then visit Akemi and experience having a meal on a revolving floor👌🏽😁😂
Stunning views of Dar es Salaam from up here! The building itself is clearly deteriorating from lack of maintenance both downstairs when you enter and once you find the right lift to go all the wayup to Akemi its a similar story as well. The food is decent and the drinks are average.
Ambience 4 out of 5 starsFood 3.5 out of 5 starsService 4 out of 5 starsValue for money 5 out of 5 stars . :)We had the lunch buffet, which was good value for money. Great view 👌
Always judge someone or something on the ability to fix mistakes........Right from arriving at Akemi we were received and treated well. The view is truly amazing and so is the service.Unfortunately, one of our main courses wasnt eatable, but there were no issues or problems at all. Soon we had a new plate there which tasted great.Very good food, amazing service to prices thats affordable.Ill be back. See you next time there.
The experience was great. We were eating and we looked around mid conversation and we were looking at a different part of the city then before. I had the Chicken Alfredo Pasta and it was great with a glass of the Non-alcoholic wine called Pure Heaven. Hope to visit again.
Drinks, food, surprises,customer service✅Absolutely 100/10
Hosted our corporate event, enjoyed delicious dishes accompanied by great view
Its very very nice place, cool,so I enjoy a lot
The rotating part is interesting but the food- barbecue -was not worth it.
Food is excellent especially the buffet. The revolving part is really cool although its very slow, still enjoyable though and you end up in different places around the restaurant as you eat. Service is great too and very friendly, they even take songs suggestions and the view is amazing! Its definitely more on the expensive side though.
This is a great place to watch the sunset have some drinks and dine. It overlooks the city skyline on one side and the harbour on the other side. The restaurant area revolves(as the name suggests) giving a 360 view of the city of dar es salaam. The cocktails are the best in the city and theres a live band on fridays.
Nice place to have a romantic dinner or just spend time with friends. The restaurant ground slowly moves and the view changes, it looks not ordinary and can impress of course. We were there on Sunday and had a Sunday buffet format, the food was good but a bit too expensive for such a format as for me. But the view compensates that for sure
Good ambience, excellent light for kodak moments and great panoramic views of the city by day and night. Food is mediocre at best, especially considering the price and bruhaha that surrounds east Africas only rotating hotel. By the way the skirting of the centre stage has come offin some areas exposing dangerous sharp nails..beware, maintenance is not part of their vocabulary
Great place in Dar Es Salam for lunch & diner. Fantastic views from the spinning deck across the marina & the city. But most importantly incredible food 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Hats off to the chef & ownership. Cannot compliment enough the food itself. Simply stunning 🥂
It is a classy place with nice view of dar city.
Highly recommend. Food was tasty. Service was brilliant, particularly Ishmael. Was not happy with a dish and the manager was quick to offer me a new dish. A new, innovative way of dining out and very affordable.
Food is really good but the ambience not so much. Excessive lightening blocks the views of the city.
Go for the view. The place actually revolves and the views are gorgeous. I didnt have any drinks but I get the sense that they make good ones. The service was good and they spoke English well. The food was nothing t write home about.
The service is so amazing I cant mention how many times love being here
Amazing place to be , especially on a date, best time would be in the evening so that you can actually appreciate it moving/ revolving , very elegant, I loved the indian food, although serves many other dishes, it is abit pricy, but overall has good value for money :)
Good classy area for a fine luxury experience not quite a fan of the vegetarian varieties but they were exceptional tho the non-veg are spot on!👍🏻
Amazing food and service. The wait time for the food can be a bit long but its absolutely worth it: 10/10 would recommend.
We went for our last dinner in Zanzibar before heading back home from dar es Salem. It is walking distance from the ferry. The staff are very nice and professional. A lot of options of food and drinks and very good service. Amazing views!
Awesome!! Enjoy Dar es Salaam view from the revolving Akemi
Best Place to Hangout with Family and Friends. Awesome Views from Revolving restaurant is great experience. Food quality is also good.
Excellent experience. Go for the light meals if you want something affordable. Light meal prices are better than most restaurants catering to tourists. Have fun guessing the number of hours per revolution. I almost made it all the way around. Dessert was overpriced but delicious. Service very good and it felt fancy. The view is great even at night. For me it was a great way to cap off my visit to Tanzania.
The only restaurant in town that gives you the view of Mzizima city as it revolves around.very good food. Good drinks and symphony of lights at night with a view of the whole city. Parking are available, though scarce
It has an outstanding view
Delicious food. Lovely ambience. Beautiful view of the city. But the service was beyond expectations. Despite not knowing it was my birthday the server made us feel special. I couldnt get his name, unfortunately, but he made our first visit to the restaurant a memorable one.
Love the food and service here! Their staff are super friendly and take pride in what they do. We had both the lunch buffet and dinner service. If you like the gorgeous view of the city and the ocean, do lunch. A little more pricy than other places but totally worth it.
From a beautiful scenic view of the Indian ocean to magnificent city centre view. Time will elapse without you knowing youve done a 360 turn already!
I d give full points for their ambience and decor. But the taste was just too bad. Had ordered their steak which was just too hard and flavorless.
Its just amazing the only dopest revolving restaurant.
The view of Dar city was superb. Especially at night. I loved the food. There was a live music band performing so the night was as memorable as can be with dancing and merry making. I definitely will go back
A great place to be! Our first experience here was amazing .. the service was priceless even than the Architectural beauty! Booked for a simple birthday dinner and they even provided a surprise case and the manager and staff sang! .. 😂they impressed the Architect and human in me. Kudos
Beautiful rotating restaurant with city view, english speaking staff, excellent services, clean and calm environment and a right spot to view Dar es salaam skyline at all angles. The menu here is of multiple choices and the foods delicious. Good for first dates, family meals, couple outing, friends etc
The setting for this restaurant atop one of the highest towers in the city is perfect; with breath taking views and high elegant ceilings that add to the aura of a rotating floor. It was exciting to admire different sides on the cityscape throughout the meal.Sadly the food was less interesting and came off as stock hotel food, except the lively salad bar. The staff and service was ok and the bill a little on the steeper end.
Vv good
