We used the opportunity to Stay at night! It was a good decision especially on new year night!! With outstanding fireworks from mainland Dar es Salaam.!Paid 100k for only entry, boat, tent and bonfire (150k for dinner and BF)!If you have any plan to visit there make sure you should have enough water and food! It will be like gold dust!!! Or you can try there expensive menu from one and only restaurant cum bar!Ocean is clean and nice!

Its an amazing experience to have without leaving Dar es Salaam! The island is beautiful with beautiful beaches and the food is simple but delicious.

The water is beautiful. The fish and chips lunch is great. Safe water to swim in. The sand is amazing.

They have two beaches. For the second beach you have to follow the trail which is incredibly beautiful. You pass through a little forest with a lot of deep wells. The second beach is not as big as the first one but stunning and you will enjoy the all beach by yourself as few or no one goes there at all but it is pretty safe.

From the several islands around DAR I personally prefer this. I enjoy the shadows of the trees, less people, good food, beautiful Sand and water... Just a whole vacation Inna day trip. You can leave from several parts in and around DAR to the island. I mostly drive past Ramada white sands park the car and take a boat. Price is more or less the same as all the other islands...One thing... Enough people working there that on a daily basis they could clean up the beach a bit....

No lie, iTs beautiful.. Calm, the way speaks and thrills your spirit. Fish tastes awesome. The scenery is simply blessed , the sun rays.. lighten you up. I dont like the fact they rent the shaded sitting areas at a very high price, kitchen people are not friendly an order can take ages if not forgotten, drinks are insanely expensive.

One of the best easily accessible beaches from the city. Woke up early, take a 30 minute drive from the city, get on a little boat for a TShs. 10,000 usually-calm 15 min ride and spend the day on a gorgeous beach. There’s shades, hammocks, and snorkel gear for rent and some delicious lobster, fish and chicken available for purchase.

20 minute island offshore from dar es salaam, you can get a boat ride from around mbezi for 10,000tsh with return fare.There is a small trek through the beach which takes you to the back of the island. The trek is an ordinary one but the natural beauty on the other side is like no other.The island has a small restaurant on the front of it where you can get food and drinks.There is a small maintainance fee upon arrival.

The beach is beautiful. There is a wooded area you can hike in to see tree climbing crabs and such. It is a marine reserve so food choices are limited. If youre a vegetarian or have any special dietary requirements then definitely pack your lunch. They have fries for 5000 tsh and fish and chips or fish and calamari for 15000. Other options are lobster, just rice or just ugali (no curry). Foreigners are charged 38,000 tsh just for the boat there and entrance fee (locals only pay 12,500 tsh). Plus youve to pay for umbrella and chairs (they ask 20,000 tsh but we paid 10,000 tsh). You can also take a tour of island for 20,000 tsh. Make sure you budget enough time as we ran out of time eventhough we reached the island around 9:30 am.

Coolest Ireland, the beach is awesome

Warm and clear water. Boat ride took around 15min. Once we got there, we were charged 12$ per person to be on the Island. We arrive in the middle of afternoon, so didnt enjoy the whole day.

One of the best places in Dar to visit. You get to the island by boat, the prices are very affordable. The amazing thing about it, you can go with snacks, drinks and alcohol. They have joints for food, the ambience was great and the service good. It was such an amazing break from the hustle of the city.

Clean beach, however no restaurants and no bars are available. Only a small shack for few limited beverages which arent really cold. Food has to be prebooked by your tour guide and its really not recommended. Arrange everything by yourself prior to your visit to the beach.

Extremely bad service. The place is beautiful, good for diving, but very dirty. Do fresh water, no toilets no hand sanitizer. If you order a food even they dont have a napkins. And the will want from you to pay 20 000 tzn Schilling for table and seat, even if you are a client. Garbage on the beach, they dont use trash bins...I dont recommend it.

The places near to the city and it is an easily accessible destination. It is good for a couple of hours and good for the kids to have a bath in the water. The water can get deep sometimes and it is advisable to take necessary precautions. take your own food and water with you and you will not have to rely on the local people as the hygiene is not very good.

Went to this place many many years ago and would have recommended it in a heartbeat...NOT ANYMORE. This place is now much more dirty and not a pleasant place to relax. The food was delicious as it was fresh (only fish and lobster) but the lobster was smaller then they said. Also charge you for EVERYTHING...where you sit, it you take a sunshade, etc and worse, this was not explained to us before hand. There are many more beautiful places to go to in Dar es salaam.

Beautiful island nice beaches, not easily accessible and not cheap either. Boats to the island can be found in the Mbezi beach area near the water park and white sands beach hotel. 10000 to 12000Tzs, there is an additional park fees and rental for use of snorkel equipment and seating.

If you want to get away from the city life to an inhabited island to enjoy the quite, have a walk along the beach or for a private beach party. This is the place to be.It is important that you bring your own food and drinks for there are no such services on regular days. A caretaker at the island will charge you about $6-$8 (TSh10000) to use the sheds but this is an optional cost.Its a great place for groups and the abundant marine life and the sandy beaches are picturesque.

They are not completely open with the charges... Once you enter you have to pay for the entrance then for the boat charges which is fine but they do not specify that even when you get at the island there are more charges to pay for Huts and any other charges which I felt was completely wrong before everything I think they were supposed to specify every charges.....

A hidden gem located in Dsm, with a 20 minute board ride from White sands or any of the locations prior to white sands. The entry fee to the island is 2500 for the locals and 26,000 for foreigners (If I am not mistaken)They are still building up the place so washroom facilities are poor, keep that in mind if you are picky about such stuff. They discourage bringing food from outside (to support the local food vendors) but drinks and snacks are not an issue. They have a few bandas with tables and chairs which you can rent out on arrival but if you want one right by the beach come early as they run out fast. The food menu is limited to 4 or 5 items which include BBQ fish, BBQ lobster, fried chicken, chips. All fresh catch of the day and they bring it on time. Helping is good enough but limited options if you are vegetarian. Alcohol is also available and decent priced.

This is the best relax island I have come across so far on the east African cost..white sand beaches, clear and clean waters for swimming lovers. The island has island makuti roofed umbrella tables and chairs and tree bound net hammocks for those whod like to.take a nap. Activities around the island waters include Snorkelling, wind surfing and swimming. One can go round the island during low tide. Boat transportation is provided from the neighbouring kunduchi, jangwani and mbezi beaches. There is an entrance fee of TZ shillings 29500. Food and drinks are available on site at a separate cost. The mbudya island and marine reserve is a must go for anyone visiting Dar rd salaam and provides a haven for old and young alike.

We went on a Monday, and it wasnt packed at all. Which was great. Its an amazing place to go and relax. The fish was good, though it took a bit of time to arrive.

One of the most beautiful places on earth. You can get there by speedboat and its about 20-45mins from Mbezi... The boats are a bit rickety but its worth it. Watching the sun set from Mbudya is memorable.
