Excellent hotel full of charm and well run. The bar man has that old school way of looking after you no matter who you are and that shows true colors. Definitely be staying with them on my next trip, many more to follow. It was a business trip and the Wi-Fi is essential and theirs is super fast and reliable. Well done!

Beautiful up to date Hotel. Staff are excellent and room /facilities are wonderful. Manager Judy is amazing and extremely connected. This has the best experience, very comfortable with background music at the elevators. The lift are spacious. The carpet is comfortable at the walkway. The rooms are breath taking. The staff are hospitable and ready to support. Safe. A nice hotel to stay while in Dar and lastly it has an ocean view

What a pleasant stay at the hotel. Staff is always available to assist and they are very friendly. The best Southern Sun hotel Ive stayed in. Hotel is near main attractions and transport is easily accessible. A chill at the pool while enjoying Kilimanjaro and Safari is a must. A&Z Supermarket is just a walk should one require to do some shopping. Highly recommended

Staff is very friendly, rooms are comfortable and clean. Food at the restaurant is very good, so is the service. Breakfast buffet is the best I had in a long time, with a huge variety of hot choices, fruit, bread & pastry and muffins.

It was an amazing stay. Every little thing was to my liking. Water presure, room size, the location and most of all the staff. Every one was so welcoming and always asking how they can improve on my stay. I must have stolen 4 pockets full of toffee sweets at the reception over the 4 days and because i said i liked the green ones more they were placed ontop.

Great Staff! Extremely welcoming and hospitable.I have one name to mention, Mr Lucas from room service.He was so helpful by suggesting some local dishes as I was not sure on what to have. He also gave me info about what to visit in Dar es salaam.Hes a great member of the team.

Although on the pricier end in terms of hotels in Dar es Salaam, the Southern Suns most notable aspect is its consistency of service. The breakfast is very good and the menu has been revamped. This is a great place to work out of during the day. Staff is most friendly and remember you if youre a returning guest. When you need a getaway in Dar while on a business trip, definitely spend a day here to refresh and reset.

The rooms are very neat and the breakfast was top class. For the price, however, I would expect a slightly larger room. Friendly and helpful staff. There is a small fitness area which was useful after a late night flight. The fitness centre includes a weight rack, 2 treadmills, 2 bicycles and a rowing machine. There a also a few mats for stretching, a water cooler and some complimentary apples.

The hotel is nice. It has a good breakfast. Gym is too small and the pool cam rarely see any sun cuz the it is on the ground floor and hidden behind the building. Service is good. Try not to book the transport or taxi with them because it is overpriced.

After enjoying a relaxing days by the pool we decided to try the delicious food in the restaurant. Incredibly happy we did. The chef was kind enough to come introduce himself and hospitable. I would definitely recommend.

A splendid hotel located at the heart of the daressalaam city...though not accompanied by the beach, its awfully close to it. Whats magnificent about this place is their cafe...the baraza cafe. Really good place that one, fancy food, exquisite garden with a little pool and such great customer service.

Great hotel for the business traveller. All the amenities are there and the staff are exceptionally friendly. A lot of hotels in East Africa cant get this level of pleasantness. It is seriously over priced however. Im not sure its worth it for the friendly touch alone.

Southern Sun Hotel is one of the finest hotels located in the Central Business District of the Commercial Capital of Tanzania - Dar es Salaam. Accommodation at the hotel is excellent with rooms of various niches including suites. The Southern Sun Hotel has two restaurants and likewise has a bar and 24 hours room service. Residents have access to free wireless 4G internet, swimming pool, gym and other amenities. The staff are friendly and the facility is hygiene clean. It is not massive in size - a feature that adds on to it being attractive, and is a convenient joint for a meal and or drink and definitely is the place to stay in Downtown Dar es Salaam.

Lovely staff and comfortable rooms. The swimming pool was in the shade most of the afternoon but well worth a trip into the town with a local guide.

This hotel is one of my favourates in Tanzania. As with all Southern Sun hotels, the restaurant is excellent with a wide veriaty of local dishes as well as other meals for the not so adventurous.Breakfast is continental as well as english buffet. The sheff on duty will prepare your eggs they way you like it and a spanish omlet to die for.The rooms is very comfortable, from the standars rooms to executive rooms and the suites. I have stayed in all these rooms and was never disappointed.The staff is very friendly with your typical Tanzanian hospitality.They have a business centre for the business traveler who needs to print a last minute document or other secreterial tasks.If you need to book onward flights or accommodation elsewere, try their travel centre for prifessional assistance.The pool is refreshing for a lazy day outside. It is a great stopover if you are on your way to Zanzibar with the ferry only a few blocks diwn the road.

Apart from location being within walking distances to offices of all Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies based in Dar as well as the CBD the Southern Sun has well appointed rooms with a view of the Botanical Gardens and the Gymkhana Golf course. The Southern Sun has the best breakfast in Dar

Rooms a bit crampy but the kind and helpful porters make up for it. Bed and pillows super comfortable. Breakfast was ok

Its one of the decent place of dar es salaam , service is good , rooms are good , location is best , sea is just near by , european unions office is near by standard chartered bank next to the hotel .. nice birds like peocock are roaming around this area its quite green and quite place. Its near by town , srrena hotel near by , hayyatt hotel is near by , good secured area , tanzania port is near by , president residence near by . And the best is food is very good
