The service needs a lot to be desired. My room had cockroaches and the receptionist told me other rooms may have them too. This was after I requested to change rooms.

Sea facing rooms are very nice and you will enjoy it. Good food and service.

Well, the hotel is well located. They have a restaurant bar, where you can chill with friends. Even around they are surrounded by other bars at walking distance from the hotel. The room are nice, well equipped, decorated and comfortable. The view on the sea 🌊 is just breathtaking. The service is also great.I have just been a little surprise 😲 when I discovered that the hot water system was not working. Something that I also depreciated was the rust on the tap in the toilet. Definitely things needed to be changed.

The ocean view from my suite was the best. And without forgeting their good breakfast.

Nice customer service, with a decent location

We have been eating at regency restaurant for the whole month. We really tried to help with the corrections. First of all we found bugs in the food on three separate occasions in which we addressed the issue and showed the kitchen person. They were very apologetic each time and we kept giving them a chance for improvement as no one is perfect. Today I honestly had enough. As we were eating a couple came with a toddler and sad down. They placed the child on the table. One, the child had shoes on, two the child was putting the bottle of condiments and a bottle of tooth picks in his mouth. Let me be clear he was literally dreweling on everything. Next he picked up the spoon, fork, and knife and was playing with them. Next it went where I expected in the mouth. We called the kitchen person and informed them and literally pointed out that one was not safe for the child two it was unsanitary. The parents were both there and did nothing. They were just watching the kid. The crazy thing is after informing the kitchen staff they just turned to looked at the kid and did nothing. NOT TO MENTION WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF COVID! I am very sure those eating utensil and condiments will not be getting cleaned again as the table were already cleaned and laid out. I do not recommend this place at this point neither will I be returning back.

Excellence,good hospitality and best breakfast

This place is an absolute horror of a hotel, Ive stayed many places in my life and would rather sleep outside in a field before staying here again. I saw a rat in the dining area, there was basically no power my entire stay and its clear that the whole place is just dilapidated and filthy. Worst experience at a hotel. Whoever thinks this place is worth the stay has never stayed at a decent establishment.

What has prompted me to write this review, two hours before check out? The electric has gone out, I thought a back up generator would have kicked in and the TV and Air conditioner would be back on by now. So there is no light in the bathroom, which doesn’t have a window and no electric to charge my phone. What a start to 2021, thanks Regency Hotel.So this place is over priced, it’s meant to be a three star hotel but right now I’m only giving its a two. If the electric had not gone out for so long, coming up to about 30 minutes now, then I would have given it a three. Why?1. A wonky TV on the wall whilst trying to watch channels and even those channels were majority in Swahili and the picture seemed fuzzy on an old Sanyo TV.2. Went toilet the first night only to find out that the water hose is blocked and only trickles of water comes out. There is also a cupboard in the bathroom with the door hanging on one rusty hinge. Sort it out before guests come to stay.3. There is a smell of something in the room, I’m not sure what but it reminds me of an old house i once visited where it had carpets so old even beetles had made there home under the carpets. It’s just a stale odour.4. The small fridge in the room needs changing. The glass shelf is missing, the seals are rotting around the edges and there is dips of paint on it. I wouldn’t put food in this. And if I put a bottle drink in it I’d have to wash the bottle afterwards before drinking. I’m not stush, posh or picky just wanted a good New Years experience in this hotel.See the photos for more details. Incan pay less than that in the UK for a Premier Inn and get better. So why does this place think it’s on par with those other hotels?Would I stay again? Yes for a basic night out, without the previous expectation and esteem I had of the place and because it’s local. An almost half decent hotel is handy at times. The entrance to the hotel, the lobby, is impressive ish and maybe that, along with some of the photos I saw of the hotel made me want to choose this place.The electric has literally just come on, just as I’m ending this review. I still haven’t changed my mind two stars for this experience, the odour, the fridge that needs changing, the water hose that needs changing in the bathroom, the tv on the wall that needs levelling up and for being over priced.The YouTube video shows the hotel in a better light than this review. Awful. Head banging music all night long, couldnt sleep a wink. No hot water, weak fan. Breakfast basic.Staff inattentive and unhelpful. Better to book a higher quality hotel.

One of the good hotels in Dar es Salaam

For the price we paid I would not recommend this place. First of all there was a funny stench coming from the rooms. Same with the bed linen. The ac wasnt working in the beginning. Breakfast was okay not great. You can get a better hotel for a cheaper price.Staff were helpful and friendly

This was a great disappoint.The whole place is ran.There was veryunhygienic situation.Water was not draining well on the showers and sink was cloaged and very nasty. No one seemed aware that I had booked there.The bath room door wont shutand stayed agape one was using it. This is a $10/= deal not $58/= i was charged . It felt like a rip off!

A very horrible environment. Out of your room to the road. The AC doesnt really work well. And the environment leaves alot to be desired.

The outside lounge has a new look and welcoming invironment, its a nice place for watching sports and has a pool.Cool place for holding parties too.

Not a bad place. Location is great next to all banks, supermakets and public transport. Good food both alacarte menu and buffet. It is a bed and breakfast hotel with a medium prices from 70,000 to 200,000 tshs. The staff are friendly and professional. There is enough parking for guests and visitors. It also has meeting and conference rooms

Lots of TLC is required on the facade of the hotel, common areas, especially Eatary and poolside bar. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful, but this gets lost because of the frayed buildings, old broken signage, look and feel of bedrooms and overall impression is 4 out of 10.

It has a wonderful area. I have visited several times. It has a good sanitation facilities. It has a well serviced bar spot and huge swimming pool for recreational moments.

This place was good, clean and quiet. The ocean view was great. However, rooms with ocean view had some technical issues with WiFi so I had to switch to the one with good WiFi connectivity for my work.

Really not a good value for a double room at 80$ per night in Dar Es Salaam. Below average breakfast. The only thing saving this from one star rating is the location and the kind of fun pool bar. Look for better options.

Well you get for what youre paid for. The bathroom shower floor is clogged and the AC makes really loud noise. But bed is comfortable.
