What a view! The hotel is located right on the Indian Ocean. The breakfast was excellent. The rooms were nice and very clean. The pool was clean and the grounds were well kept. I also like how there are shops and restaurants in the hotel so the location is excellent and there is no need to leave this incredible oasis in Dar Es Salaam!

Pool is nice and spacious. Hotel is really big but feels cosy. We will happily come back. Special thanks to the genera manager Alberto, who made us feel very very welcomed. Beautiful hotel with beautiful sea views! Staff are so friendly. Buffet breakfast has a large selection to choose from and the food served at the restaurant is divine. Rooms are clean and well sized. Lovely pool area. Walking distance from restaurants, pharmacy, local vendors and supermarket. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Slipway!

The hotel is Okay but not suitable for business trip. The breakfast is very minimalist, the choice is very limited. Sea view rooms can be very noisy at night when the restaurants became crowded. A band is playing music at night, usually from Wednesday to Sunday.

When checking in (at midnight because we got stuck in a lot of traffic and had a long day) we were extremely exhausted we and had booked two rooms without mentioning the number of people staying. They wanted to charge us 30$ extra per night after already paying over 350$ because we were 5 people in two rooms that can easily fit 7 combined. We kept explaining our case and they were not helpful at all and were being very rude and disrespectful to us. We also asked if we can get a late check out because our flight was at night the next day and we were already checking in very late (midnight). They told us to pay 100$ for a late check out and that we have to leave at 10 pm. We asked if we can stay till midnight instead and they kept being unhelpful and gave us attitude. We kept pushing until they accepted later in the afternoon the next day. Knowing that these two hours would do nothing to their business because nobody checking in after 10 pm to a room. I do not recommend anyone deal with staff at this hotel. They ruined our last day of an amazing trip.

The place is amazing. Excellent customer care, and the hotel staff are very helpful with regard to any problem or issue that you might have. I am happy to have spent time here.

Best Hotel in Dar es Salaam without a doubt. Rather than the chain hotels where you cant even tell which continent youre in, this place has SOUL. Zanzibari architecture and warm staff, this is the only hotel I stay at in Dar

This is one place one cannot afford to miss visiting when in Dar es salaam. A good variety of restaurants of varying cuisines. Very diversified patronisation. Music is always great. The breeze is soothing. And its a connection point to small islands.

Hotel is clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. Shower however is terrible. No water pressure and only half a shower curtain. Breakfast is great except that i have to pay for a bottle of water. Complex around the hotel is nice with good restaurants and shops. Overall it is a pleasant experience

I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It is very comfortable and reasonably priced. I stayed here for a total of 10 days while on business. It is situated in the middle of a great little shopping area with restaurants and access to boating adventures. The best part about it is the staff and excellent customer service. They have been very accommodating and always pleasant to interact with. The breakfast that is included in the room fee is also top-notch!

Slipway hotel is a whole other tourist attraction! I was not a guest at the hotel but left my hotel two days in a row to shop, get ice cream and have dinner. Slipway is a such a marriage of so many fun activities and the souvenir shops are a hit. You can spend hours here and not know it. Theres a playground for children and different restaurants. Its safe and has a waterside view as well. Loved it.

One of the best places in. Dar to spend your holidays at. A great place for outings and dinner reservations. Can also take corporates that need space for conferences, meetings and presentations.

What an amazing place! Gorgeous property, clean, lovely room with a fantastic ambiance of historical yet updated. The layout is positively interesting and the staff was outstanding. Alice, Helimah and Maimonah at the reception were extremely patient and tended to everything that was needed for an forgettable table. The bell man Sebastian was more of a fixer rather than just a luggage carrier. I highly recommend this hotel during a Dar stay as it was difficult to leave for the work obligation that required me to go to Tanzania. The only reason it’s receiving a 4 star was due to the broken A/C that in all honesty was fixed 2 days into my stay. They assured me I would be moved but after the unit was fixed, decided to stay in the room. Just a positive experience and triply the staff made it a hit!

The staff was great, food okay not so great, the room quality and service is not worth what I paid, they put Eva soap like really? No sanitary kit, no minibar, not enough towels, no change of sheets, very very poor cleaning this is unhealthy. Worst of all on a Friday if you have kids with you and just want to sleep its impossible, the loudest music ever was right at my window no buffering what so ever. NEVER COMING BACK!!

Slipway is a lovely place if you’d like to do a little bit of souk shopping, relaxing or having lunch/dinner! Beautiful views and vibrant, pleasant staff and you can also get the boat to Bongoyo Island which is a lovely little place if you wish to just relax, swim or read a book. There are little coffee shops and restaurants dotted around the place.

Ok now this is heaven. Not only do they have the best services or view...They care they follow up and very considerate...this is by the way not about the hotel only..the whole square they created a scenario where by a family, a loner, new love birds, a date and loose cannons like me can feel at home without looking behing my bag and worrying about the person behind me..😍😍😍well done Tom and Reto

Lovely rooms and if you get a see view then your in for a treat. Service is great, really good selection of restaurants, a local shop, tourist shops within 5 mins walk. A brilliant location.

Slipway hotel is situated in Slipway, with many interesting shops, restaurants around it in the area, including playgrounds for children. You have very good choices of Restaurants, shops and even walkway. Best time to visit slipway restaurants is around 6 pm withnaginificant view of the bay and sunset.

Beautiful outdoor cafe and pool terrace. Though breakfast offer and quality products are mediocre. Paid cash. No TRA invoice has been brought to me ( approx 1030 am, Mon )

Standard category rooms are very sub standard.. Exective and Suites after very nice and those with Sea view are awesome... Nice walk area along the sea shore great... Good outlet s in and around the hotel very great.... The food restaurants are awesome...

The reason to come to Dar was to have a conference. I asked my colleages from Tanzania to arrange hotel and conference room there.So this is how I got here, in Slipway HotelWhen youre on holidays its great, specially with kids or when youre lets say 35 or less. And friendly staff, nice rooms, food ok. When you look for conference accomodation its not the best place. Too much going on, loud music, no quiet space for some reflection.Thats why I give it three stars only.

Nice place but so so so for the tourist and priced to the tourist too. They see a mugunzo (white person, or easy target) and triple the price so prepare to have the price right down. Nice place though a and safe to be for us white tourists

Stunning location but things are a little tired and service and amenities a little inconsistent - No bath mat or water or shampoo on my night of arrival after long journey and erratic power to room a little frustratingStaff are all very nice and friendly.Breakfast good, lovely spot and lots of choice and dinner also good - it would be nice to add a few simple plain options -if you spend more than one night ( yes you guessed it I am here working) - you need some simple food. Excellent choice of shops and other eating choices nearby. Small but ok gym ( with lovely chap to help u) and small and somewhat tired pool, but not open very early or very late which is a pain if you are out working all day ( which with traffic in Dar you surely will be).WIFI is exhaustingly unreliable in the rooms - but better in reception and terrace

I stayed not very long here, rooms are clean and nicely maintained. Staff is polite but not as friendly as other hotels in Dar. Terrace restaurant is good but overpriced. I left an expensive electronic toothbrush in the room at check out. When I asked I was told they will call me back, which they never did. I went to hotel a few days after to ask but they told me nobody found anything in the room... whatever question I ask, reception lady repeated same answer like a machine...

Beautiful hotel with a great sunset view. The rooms are quite spacious with lovely decor. Slipway hotel is probably the best place to catch the dar es salaam sunset. Its also in a great location with restuarants around the complex, and shops of different kinds from souvenirs shops to coffee shops to african prints and accessory stores. The complex may get a it too crowded during public holidays however on regular days its just great.

Its really expensive for what you get. We had the deluxe suite and it was comparable to a 2.5/3 star hotel room in North America. The staff are very helpful and the shopping complex is a great way to spend time if you dont feel like venturing out into Dar. Bonguoyo island is also very close by. Overall, I think you could pay significantly less and get a room in a hotel thats marginally lower in quality- but still sufficient for your needs.
