I and my daughter moved to Dar few months back and we have been to few restaurants and Baobab is one of our favourites. Not only the food but the serene surroundings add extra joy of enjoying their mouth watering delicious food. My fav, spinach and cheese panini πŸ˜‹ just can’t get enough of it. The best part of Baobab is you can tell the quality of ingredients they use and it shows up in every dish… it’s very health friendly and carefully prepared for keeping the well-being of their customer in mind. It feels very homely food. Ah their fried mogo, cheese baked pasta and magic portion and how can I forget those little swirls rolls … I can’t remember the names but I surely remember the delicious taste πŸ˜€. One can never disappoint there!

It is a quiet place with a nice gesture to it. You can sit and enjoy good music and good food. One of the good thing is they offer variety of gluten and dairy free food. You wont be disappointed with the food as well as the ambience.

As a family we normally have 2-3 set restaurants we visit for our weekly Sunday brunch, we’ve just added another one to our list after today’s visit, the food was absolutely amazing, we tried over 10 things from the menu and each item tasted as good as it sounded on the menu! Their healthy food options along with the smoothies are refreshing and their home made bread is to die for! None of the things we ordered let us down to the point we kept ordering more and more things! The ambience was cosy and the service from their staff was excellent! We can’t wait to be back!

Visited Baobab Bistro a quiet garden cafe in Masaki. Had the mohgo fries which were very crunchy n very different from other places. The Asian chicken wings had a sweet n sour taste and I enjoyed them. Ordered masala chai which is unlike any in Dar - strong and spicy. The place has a great vibe and are open for breakfast till evening. If you want to enjoy a peaceful meal this is the place to be.

Everything on the menu is unique, flavourful and filling (the portions are just right). The perfect place to have a scrumptious meal and leave feeling completely zen!!!

It’s a beautiful place to sit and relax , it’s a place where you can sit in the fresh air .. though located in the prime area , It has complete privacy and you feel as if you are in some Other part of the city ..I personally love the masala tea at the Baobab bistro and so is their cappuccino too .. The panini’s are delicious with the home made bread they use ..! Just can’t keep the count of pizza slices once you start eating , they are thin crust and scrumptious. On the whole a place where you can go all alone and do your work or go with a group of friends and enjoy the place .

I asked Sheila to prepare a pizza cake ( wanted something different) for me on a friends birthday, without hesitation she said yes.It was a big hit, the birthday girl liked it as it was amazingly delicious, combined with the Mango shrikhand trifle .I admire her courage to try different things and not saying NO.Thank you for make it for me.

You cant go to Masaki without passing by #baobabbistro for their yummy tuna melt...just as the name depicts, it just melts in your mouth..really enjoyed the meal. Tasty and juicy. However some French fries would go a long way and be worth it πŸ‘Œ. Service was excellent, the owner was helpful and polite, the servers had a permanent smiles and ready to help, highly recommend

Delicious wholesome food, and quaint location - very β€œzen” in line with the Zen spa it shares the location with. Try the chicken nuggets, potato cheese balls and tuna melt! Cafe food with a homemade feel to it!

I used to rave about this place but lately it has been a disappointment for many of my friends whom I suggested to go there. For example the beef pizza had the crust with 2 tablespoons of boiled minced meat spattered over it and miserly shredded cheese stuffed in an oven. It had no taste and was not worth Tsh 20 000 at all. This place wont last much longer. So inconsistent.

I had the cassava fries (much thicker cut than what is served in London restaurants with East African roots), popcorn chicken, iced coffee and a watermelon lemonade. The fries came with n amazingly spicy sauce and kachumber. It’s so hot and humid here, that liquid refreshment is needed constantly. The fruits are also so fresh and delicious, that I am having fruit juices when I’m assured of clean kitchens (tropical humid weather brings its share of flies)The watermelon lemonade was watermelon juice with a lot of lemon juice added, so sour with a hint of sweetness, no added sugar.I’ve also had pineapple mint juice (at another location) which is a lovely combination I’ve never had before.Service here was lovely and I can see why this place is a favourite among the expats who live in this area.
