Was taken there for my birthday treat by close friends... it wqs one of my best birthdays ever. Absolutely awesome Ethiopian food, with amazing ambience to match. The staff is friendly and they make sure you are as comfortable as possible. Go there in a group, so that everyone orders different food and you get to sample a variety of their cuisine.

Addis in DAR ... Lovely place. The ambiance is great... You feel a bit of fairy tale. Service is very polite and efficient. All goes smooth and with ease. It has become one of my favorite places after just one visit but will go in the coming days again to see how consistent it is. How to evaluate Ethiopian Food, I honestly believe for non-Ethiopian it will always be subjective. We enjoyed it very much, the pumpkin was lovely full of aromas, the bread lovely, I enjoyed the shrimps and chicken that where bombs of condiments and spices just lovely. The waitress coming with water for you to wash your hands... Just nice (suggestion here I would put some scent in the water... just a little) It will also be a place where I will take guests often and happily. Have a nice meal!

Coffee ceremony at Addis in Dar for a group of 30! This restaurant was magical for our group of 30. What an amazing environment. The food was top notch and the security made it feel like a true privilege to eat here. The food was incredibly well priced and amazing!

Addis in Dar is a great Ethiopian restaurant in upper class Mikocheni in Dar es Salaam. The venue is in the middle of a lush garden. Menu with original Ethiopian dishes is ample. The service is friendly and any dinner is concluded with an Ethiopian coffee ceremony.

The food is amazing, the service is exceptional, and the vibe is awesome. Its an experience to have in Dar.

Been here so many times..Counting back to more than 10 years. Friendly staff, consistency in services - great service. Food is always yummy, always tastes the same for me - I love the consistency in this as well. Its good for big groups of people dinning together because of the sharing of food aspect. The Ethiopian restaurant is excellent. The Tej Wine was excellent. We had a combo meal with chicken, lentil and mutton. The meal was very delicious and served in traditional Ethiopian style. The outing was very memorable and we just enjoyed being there. The staff was quick and efficient. Worth coming again and again.....

Delicious and reasonably priced Ethiopian fare in Dar. The terrace dining experience is exceptional - the candlelight, warm breeze, moonlight, under palm trees, with stylish decor...a true gem! Really enjoyed the tej honey wine as well.

“Go there for an absolutely unique experience”I believe you cannot have the same Ethiopian experience another place. When you come to the door you start questioning yourself what I am doing here? but this changes around when you are the main floor. You have absolutely great Ethiopian music, and the traditional tables (photo). The way they serve coffee and food is absolutely unique for those who have never tried Ethiopian cuisine. I believe not all of you would appreciate the food (as it is traditional) but you will definitely have great mood after being there. Amazing!

A great experience for having authentic Ethiopian food. The restaurant is situated inside the owners house. The main entrance opens up to a dim light staircase that leads to the main sitting area that is in the open with candles and low chair tables. This is now my favourite Ethiopian restaurant. The tej (honey wine) is the best Ive had, the food is excellent. You sit out on a large upstairs balcony, immaculately decorated, the music is Ethiopian and interesting. Finish a meal with Ethoipian coffee - delicious.Prices are reasonable - around 7-8 euros for a meat or vegetable dish.

Amazing traditional Ethiopian food

As a long-time patron I would like to recommend Addis in Dar very highly indeed, not only for its finely prepared, excellently spiced, genuinely African cuisine (and this is genuine cuisine), but perhaps above all for its entirely unique ambience and eating experience (including its style of presentation). Indubitably the most sophisticated yet still authentically African restaurant in Dar. A genuine culinary and atmospheric experience - and therefore quite different from the usual, run of the mill, cloned restaurants,many of which merely present a poor copy of some international concept.

Only place you would find Ethiopian food the whole of Dar es salaam. I must stay its the best and i had a huge craving for Ethiopian food till i was introduced to this place. Would definitely advice to visit.

The food are simple and special. I would say some people will like it but some may feel disappointed with the limited choices. The atmosphere is nice. The price is super expensive and thats the reason that I would limited my compliments to them.

Not the kind of taste for people who are usually used to indian food or typical italian pizzas or pastas.Basically from an indians point of view it has a huge dosa served with few platters like red lentils, dals, chole with cottage cheese which is bland.
