The food was not bad, beautiful change from the normal. Quaint place for the nights only. Beautiful cultural setting of interiors for sure.
Food was decent but price was outrageous. I get this same food in the States for half the price. Price point around 60000 Tanzanian shillings
Very welcoming with amazing food 🤌🏽😍 can’t wait to go back again
WHEN YOU ARRIVE: you dont realize that there is a restaurant... really you need to go through a narrow alley between two houses to reach the BEST Ethiopian restaurant in Dar. The owner and service are very friendly. It was a pleasant new experience to eat Ethiopian food with my hands! I recommend this place for those who are brave enough to try different type of food! Just be carful with the spicy sauce.... it is really spicy!
Wow!!! State of the art!!!The owners’ a very welcoming Lady. Jovial and keen. The injera was satisfying. You eat till you are full, no limit. I loved the service and the meal matched the price.I have to come back again.
Amazing food and excellent service at a great price. Makes me really want to visit Ethiopia!
Hidden gem! Great Ethiopian food for affordable prizes
I ordered a modified vegetarian platter, this included spicy lentils, tomato salad and pumpkin leaves with injera (Ethiopian bread). No egg, no meat or fish. The food was good, but I thought the price of Tsh 25,000 was exorbitant for a single serving. Also, the restaurant itself is nice, but it is not in a “high rent” area; it is very local so I could not understand the justification for prices higher than what I have paid for a vegetarian platter in the United States.
The food was okay but the location is in a residential area and dirt roads. very secluded in the night. Would recommend the owners to restore to its former glory
Cool little place, great food, friendly people.
What a memorable meal! Loved it. Owned and operated by an Ethiopian family. The food was tasty - we got the meal for 3 vege and non-vege dishes that fed 4 of us. Very reasonable $35 for 4 people incl. Beer, wine, coffee and soft drinks. Had the traditional Tej (honey wine) brewed by the owners - very nice. Coffee is roasted and brewed over coals, while you watch, fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!
Didnt seem like a restaurant at first, had to pass through a small alley. Once i entered the place, it was like wow, the place looked amazing and no nothing fancy, it was all cultural. The food was amazing too. P.s. my first time having ethopian dish.
Exotic taste ?.....this is the place for you with so much to experience in a very short while
Beautifull nice family restaurant. do not be scared from rough neighbourhood. if you are real foodie and not afraid to eat real ethiopian food ethiopian way (with fingers) this is a place for you. very hospitable owner.
Located at Msasani,Namanga area
My second Ethiopian restaurant. Service is perfect, but the food is not that great. Lamb was tough. 3 of 5
Terrible ethiopian food. Worst I ever had ..
Amazing spot with the most incredible staff. I was short on cash and the owners son walked me to the closest ATM. The food was delicious and very well priced. Highly recommended.
Best Ethiopian food in Dar with a cultural feel to the atmosphere, and home cooked from mama 😊. Her injera is the only teff Ill eat. The food is comparable to Desta in the states and if you know about Desta you know the food is bomb. Plus the honey wine is a must try!
One of two great Ethiopian restaurants in the city - Rohobot is on a muddy off-beat road and appears fairly downtrodden. But the food is good. Go with friends and pick a beef, chicken and seafood dish to go with the injera - you won’t be disappointed.
Very good but very spicy 🔥
The best Ethiopian food places in Dar... The owner is amazing... She is very welcoming and she cooks amazing food. I can eat there everyday
Hidden gem.Good price.A sign stands infront of the little alley you walk in. The food is good and the waiter managed the customers well.Lost a star because my coffee was not served with the incense 😭
Wonderful place: the food, the staff, the experience. Located in a very quiet neighborhood, it took some perseverance to get there but it was so worth the journey. I was treated like family.
I loved it! Do not be afraid of crossing the little alley in the popular neighbourhood before arriving at this well decorated and impeccable place prepared so you can enjoy at maximum the tasty & fresh food. This is a family owned restaurant and the service is specially carring.
This is my favourite Ethiopian restaurant in Dar es Salaam. Great food in a safe environment. Moderate prices.
Ethiopian food is almost always expensive i feel. Whether it be in America or here in Tanzania. What cannot be doubted though is that when its good, its bloody freaking good. Getting to Rohobot is a journey in itself, through awful roads. Its a no frill, traditional minimalist place. It really shouldnt be pricy. But it is. But i want to return because the food was that freaking good.
Fantastic food, good service, baby friendly, nice atmosphere, and prices are not bad. Great place to go with friends, to share a filling delicious meal.
My favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Tanzania at the lowest price ever.Enter in a home-like place and enjoy the authentic taste of the freshly cooked food. It is located in the hearth of Msasani area, just next to where Wonder Workshop is.
Always delicious...try the spicy pumpkin, excellent! I love the decor and the lovely women who run the place.
More than good
Very good restaurant with authentic Ethiopian food
An intimate place with delicious exotic dishes.
As someone who loves (veg) Ethiopian/Eritrean food and having been to many different restaurants with this cuisine, this is the one with the best injera Ive had and they changed my mind about shiro which I previously didnt like at other restaurants. It was very tasty. Great prices, lovely people and love the authenticity including the mesob baskets which we dont get in London Habesha restaurants.
Wonderful authentic food. Would recommend!!
I love it
It was great. Enjoyed the combos really good.
Pleasant, homely and offering very good food. For an excellent combination, not found on the menu, ask for the Dario Mix.
Probably our favorite place to eat in Dar. Ridiculously delicious.
The best ajera I had ever had
Hands down best Ethiopian in Dar!Its a sweet, though a bit makeshift decor. But the star here is the food. We are big fans of Ethiopian food and know it well. Often when I come to a new restaurant I order shiro and doro wot, among others. Two basic dishes, it is easy do discern from those how much attention a place gives to its food. And at Rohobot those were lovely! Other classics are great too!I guarantee you, food is better than that other Ethiopian place in town :)
My favourite Ethiopian restaurant in Dar. Great host and service, excellent food especially the vegetarian/vegan options. 😍😍
Today, I arrived in Dar Es Salaam on a solo trip, my first time in Dar and may first time to try Ethiopian food. I just felt compelled to visit this restaurant that had very good reviews. As my Uber drove down the bumpy dirt road, I must say I had my doubts, I walked through an ally and Teruwork, the owner kindly welcomed me. Before I knew it, I was enjoying one of the best meals ever. I adore Indian cuisine and take cooking lessons. This was better and yes I want a cooking lesson! Teruwork and her family were so kind, other guests arrived and seeing I was alone invited me to join them and we had such a beautiful evening. I will cherish this evening. This is a gem that you must enjoy.
Very cosy, the food is amazing 👌
The food is amazing.
The food is good love it 👌
Nice ethopian food!
Good place and price is affordable
The food is not ours ..being a Nigerian...but its nice
Good experience of the tasty Ethiopian food and wine (Tej) in the heart of Dar Es Salam. Be prepared to eat traditional food with your hands as it is the traditional way of eating this. No worries soap and water are kindly offered by the host before and after the meal. Location easily accessed by Tuk Tuk taxi.
Great spot with amazing services
Real Ethiopian food taste
Really delicious Ethiopian food
Wide variety. Sumptuous food. Super hostess!! All adds up to a great time!!
Very good food and cheap.
Nice food here
Price was good, atmosphere was friendly and local (not overly done - comfortable), and the food was great!
Good food and has more locals visiting in comparison to Addis in Dar

Best Ethiopian food in Dar
Have nice monday
Good, authentic Ethiopian food.
My favorite place to eat in Dar! I prefer this Ethiopian restaurant over the other one due to its better vegetarian selections. I’m choosing food quality over vibe every time! The food, service and environment is all so warm and inviting. I always leave wanting more.
It has fine cuisibes
