It was the worst experience with a car rental. Please avoid to hire a car in this company. All their car are old and can broke any time. We booked Toyota Rav 4 through Rentalcar.com. The car we got was different, a very very dirty in a bad condition, 3 windows from 4 could not be open Lexus , all electrical was broken, speedometer did not show the right speed. They did not put a petrol, the owner took 2500$ for deposit and did not give it back. The engine sometimes did not start immediately and we were in a big stress that we can stuck on a road with a Brocken car.
Pathetic, lying scammers.I would strongly suggest to not use this company as they have absolutely no integrity. After booking, and specifically confirming with Faris for a late model Prado, which he confirmed, we arrived at the airport and were given a choice of a clapped out 30 year old Lexus or similar vintage Toyota LC Station Wagon. With this I was also informed that they planned to block $ 5000 from my credit card. The website appears as the international brand but if you look at all the reviews from tourists its clear they probably have no affiliation.I duly told Faris to get lost and was able to secure a 4x4 at short notice from Solidarity Car Rental, whom I would highly recommend.
THEY SHOULD BE CALLED LAST CHOICE RENTALI hired a car from them from 23/09/19 to 05/10/19I paid 2019 prices but got a 2008 car Not what their advert shows, which as the two weeks passed by we found more and more problems with it.Basically it was not road worthy petrol gauge was faulty and you would run out of petrol with a quarter of a tank showing ( to be fair they did tell me this in picking up the car) it would lose power when you tried to overtake(on mentioning this when I handed it back the guy just said (yes he knows) the tyres were on minimum tread. Locking the rear door was a challenge to say the least. When it rained the passenger got wet feet. Rear wiper did not work.We also got a GPS for $12 a day total $144 but it could not even find our hotel in Dar Es Salaam from the airport and that was with the guy who had delivered the car trying as well we traveled to Dodoma a 450km trip and it wanted to take us on a 850km route we knew this was wrong so in the end downloaded google maps and used our iPhone I called the office this took me three days to actually get them to answer and was told we can sort this out when we return the car. On returning the car the guy rang his office and I was told they did not believe we had not used it basically calling me a liar and as we had gone over our allotted mileage quota (mainly due to going at least 100km out of our way until we realise the GPS was useless) so charged me $63 guess what they had no change so ended up paying $65 the guy just said think of it as a tip.AGAIN DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY all they want is your money
BE CAREFUL! THEY WILL CHEAT ON YOU! they put clauses into the contract and made me sign it, when I was back, I suddenly was supposed to pay WAY more than agreed. Made me stay and did not let me go, made me miss my flight, they dont speak English! STAY AWAY!!! moreover: they were not there for pick-up (someone else had to call them so that they came), they were not there for return (again, someone had to call them so they came 30 minutes later). The car itself was dirty inside and made weird sounds when accelerating up to 100 KMH. my lawyer is on it!
Great experience!!!!We (4friends) rented a car quite short term - asking in the hyatt hotel (did not stay there, just had coffee)They arranged everything with first car rentalWe also took a driver - Abuu drove very well and super save. He was extremely reliable and is a very fun and sympathic person to hang out with.We started in dar es salaam stopped 1 night in pangani - 2 nights in lushoto and then returned the car in arusha
I had a confirmed booking, made direct with First by email. When I arrived at the office a few minutes before my reservation time, they told me they didnt have a car available for me. They told me if I could wait 40 minutes, they would get one. I waited one hour 10 minutes, but still no car, so I made alternative arrangements with a different agency.
