Its the bridge joining kigamboni and kurasini. If you start a journey from kurasini side, you can not turn around until you cross the bridge. There is a crossing fee for motorcycle and other vehicles starting at TZS 600 to TZS 5000

The Mwalimu Nyerere bridge is quite a milestone for outstanding development projects accomplished by Tanzania government. Its a tremendous investment indeed. But some of the pass toll to cross needs some reconsideration to sustain locals.

Kigamboni Bridge is a 680-meter-long bridge in Tanzania that connects the Dar es Salaam ward of Kurasini from the east to the west of Kigamboni district across the Kurasini Creek. Construction work began in February 2012 and completed in April 2016. The completion of the bridge has offered an alternative transport link to the new district of Kigamboni. Previously, the Kivukoni ferry provided a quick transport link between south east of the Dar es Salaam Central Business District specifically from south east of Kivukoni to north west of Kigamboni. The bridge have six lanes (three on each direction) and two pedestrians/cyclists lanes with width of 2.5 meters (one on each side). Construction of 2.5 km approach roads were completed with 1 km on the Kurasini side and 1.5 km on the Kigamboni side. The road joins the Nelson Mandela expressway through elevated free interchange to separate traffic approaching and leaving the junction. There is a toll plaza for controlling and charging of vehicles passing through the bridge. A total of 14 controlled lanes are going to be in this area (seven for each of the two directions).

Too bad i couldnt get enough pictures for me and you for i was in a fast moving car. What i can tell you anyone who passes by this bridge wonders how great it was built. Its attrctive both day and night but mostly in the night the light brings its perfect beauty. There is a place you pay while passing through it reduced car traffic and its an easy way to some places. Mostly vehicles use this way i dont know about pedestrians.Enjoy every moment Kisses and Loves.

Also known as Kigamboni Bridge. Launched 2 years ago as an option of getting to Kigamboni area. Well constructed bridge and you can see changing laser lights during the evening hours, currently photography is prohibited for public until authority written permission. Heads up, consider driving 50 kph per hour to avoid fines from traffic police.
