The project was a very important undertaking meant to minimise endemic traffic jam in the city and implored China Civil Engineering Construction Cooperation to find ways to complete the project ahead of schedule.President Magufuli launched the project together with the president of the World Bank, Dr. Jim Yong Kim, whose institution is part-financing the project to the tune of 188.71bn/-.
