The place is decent, got helpful staff and even their food is great. Menu is very short & simple, everything is affordable.They have indoor sitting without AC and outdoor sitting as well.Very less options for vegetariansBut the non vegetarians will love the place.Only 1 disappointed was the smoke of the chicken sekela coming in and making the place smoky.Need to have a exhaust for that smoke.The uncle is very helpful there, interacts with all customers.

Absolutely appalling customer service from the owners wife. Finger wagging in our faces. One plate had dirty water on it, one glass was covered in dust and still had the luminarc sticker on it, and the cutlery was cloudy. Not planning to return. Check everything before eating there because cleanliness levels are really low. The owners should not own a restaurant if they cannot handle being customer service oriented.

Very nice and decent place for a meal. They have a basic menu with not too many options. Taste is very good. We tried Sekela chicken, Mishkaki and Nundu. Fries were good too.

Its a tradition for my family to come here for dinner. I personally enjoy the ajams and chicken plus the spicy chips. I also love the salads that they provide for starters. The owner knows my parents very well and we receive great hospitality, though its a bit distracting when Some of the customers chose to snort on the washing area which is in public.

Born here in 1947 and lived in the same place ever since. Created a restaurant people crave with a recipe that attracts people from all over the world. Ive been here a couple of times. The menu is small but solid. The masala chips are fantastic - way better than just throwing some curry powder on regular fries the way that you might expect in the US. The meat dishes are all great, with my personal favorite being the spicy barbeque chicken. A note for the ignorant like me: ajam is a naan-like bread.

Great authentic experience! The chicken BBQ is excellent and reasonably priced, and the owner and staff were very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. It’s a must try while in Dar.

Excellent chicken on the grill. The food is very good and its not at all expensive. The only problem is that alcohol is not served here so you cannot enjoy a nice glass of wine or a beer with the excellent food.

The owner mohammed bhai is very welcoming , always greets and welcome his customers ,The bbq sekela chicken , Nundu and Mishkaki are my favorite, can’t remember going wrong food wise here.Try with varieties of sides sauces available -

You can’t walk down Nkomo Street in the evenings without the aroma of “sekela” beckoning. Give in! Order the classic sekela chicken and chips with a cold coke. It’s a simple set up in a calm neighbourhood that may just make you a regular.

I liked the owner of the place approaching customers and asking if everything is good. They serve tomato sauce, salad, chilli pepper sauce free of charge together with main course. As to flavor, it was fairly well. Mishkaki meat was well-marinated and ideally soft. The location is also good which is right off Ali Hassan Mwinyi Road. The only thing I was displeased with is cleanliness.

The best place for Sekela chicken, Tikka chicken and all kinds of Indian cuisine. Its the pioneer of all bbq spots in Upanga and still hold the number one spot for great food and great hospitality from the owner and the staff.

Chicken is good, but less options in all types of food, less chutney options, they quickly run out of stock, you have to wait up to 20 .minutes to get your order, they should reduce food colours or additives.
