We had the most wonderful vacation thanks to our cook Moshi and our guide Salehe!We booked a 3 nights/ 4 days group safari in a tent and visited Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire.Moshi made sure that we always have a yummy hot meal. For breakfast we ate the most amazing pancakes with Nutella and bananas, eggs, toast with tropical fruits jam and of course coffee and tea. He would get up at 3-4h am to prepare the breakfast. He always welcomed us with a big smile and good mood 😊Don’t forget to ask about his soup with cucumbers, it’s delicious!Salehe made sure that we saw all the animals that could be seen and that we have time to take pictures and to admire them. I can safely say that 90% of the time we were the first car to see the animals, then the other cars would catch up to us.He’s also one hell of a driver! One of the days it had been raining a lot and at one point there was a river on the road that we couldn’t cross with our car so the guy rolled up his pants and crossed the river by himself to make sure that it was safe for us to cross it with the car.Both of them always with a big smile, ready to help and explain whatever you need to know about the animals, the life and culture in Tanzania and also teach you a few words in swahili!Asante sana guys it was a pleasure to be your guests!

Great experience on a group 5day/4night campus ng safari to Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater and Tarangiere NP. Geofrey was very responsive in the booking process and was flexible with multiple cancellations due to Covid on our side.Douglas the tour guide made the trip special and was extremely experienced and passionate about his job. He was very safe and skillful driver in sometimes difficult conditions. Food was also very good and prepared well by our chef, considering that we were camping and using portable equipment.Overall if you are looking for a Camping option for your safari then choose Meru slopes!

We are a group of 2 couples and we had a three days/two nights safari in Serengeti and Ngorongoro with Meru slopes tours and safaris and it was an amazing lifetime experience. We didn’t have much time and we wanted to visit Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater, but Geofrey prepared a perfect schedule for us and we saw everything we wanted. The communication with him was very easy and without any problems.They picked us up at the Kilimanjaro airport in the evening, we slept first night in a nice hotel in Arusha and in the morning we started our safari with a guide Salehe and chef Dulla. They were really wonderful. First we drove to Serengeti for a afternoon game drive, then we slept in the tents at the campsite. Second day we started the game drive early in the morning, sunrise above Serengeti was absolutely amazing. Salehe found almost all the animals - we spotted 4 from big five (not rhino) and also giraffes, cheetah eating warthog, thousands of wildebeest, hippos, zebras, hyenas and much more. After the lunch we headed to Ngorongoro crater to Simba campsite for overnight. Next morning we started our last game drive through the crater. We saw three male lions from the distance of 2 metres and also the rhino family, so we completed the whole big five. After the lunch we had to drove back to the airport to catch our plane.We were just 4 of us in the openroof safari car for 6, which was very comfortable. Also there are not so many tourists nowadays, so the national parks are not overcrowded as before Covid.Salehe was a real professional, he knows everything about animals and his driving skills are also impressive. And Dulla was an amazing chef, food was really delicious. We had a breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday and not just a simple meal, but a variety of different tasty dishes.If you hasitate about the safari in Tansania, even if you dont have so much time - go for it! I can’t think of a better company to do a safari in Tanzania! We chose Meru Slopes after having screened over 10 Agencies and i have to say they overdelivered our expectations big time! We decided to do one day at the Kilimanjaro and 4 days tour in Tarangiri, Serengeti and ngorongoro. We saw the BIG 5 and many others our accommodations were fantastic and the chef Godfrey delighted us every day with extraordinary meals. But the key highlight of our trip was our driver/guide Asante el! I’d highly recommend you to ask for him if you do a tour as he will always work the extra mile to please his customers, always with a smile on his face and always entertaining us with stories about Tanzania and his adventures in the parks.

Short version: I cannot recommend Meru Slopes enough! I went on the 5 day budget safari. The safari itself was fantastic and the food was delicious and plentiful. Jacob (guide) is amazing!Long version: I found Meru Slopes online while planning my trip to Tanzania. I found Geofrey (owner?) to be responsive and helpfully answered my endless questions. He arranged pickup from the airport and was at the hotel to greet me upon arrival. The hotel is centrally located in Arusha with immaculately clean rooms, good free breakfast and helpful staff. Day 1 of the safari, Geofrey was there again to personally introduce me to the safari guide, Jacob, and cook, Richard.Throughout the five days, Jacob was kind, charismatic, and incredibly knowledgeable about animals, plants, and local cultures. His eagle eyes spotted everything while still managing to masterfully navigate African roads. Richard consistently delivered delicious meals that were varied and massive! I frequently felt bad for the other groups we saw eating dry sandwiches from their packed lunch boxes. Not one member of our group had a single complaint for the duration of the safari. After the safari, geofrey provide additional assistance and transportation to the bus station. Book your safari with Meru Slopes!

Me (Belgian) and my girlfriend (German) had an amazing safari experience with our tour guide Salehe and chef Halid. It was a wonderful experience to see all the wild animals. Salehe is very knowledgable about all the wild animals, nature, national parks and much more. Moreover, he is also a mechanic which is very useful on these kind of roads. When we arrived back at the camp, chef Halid cooked amazing, tasty, local meals. He is also very helpful with setting-up the tents and other tasks at the camp.We saw all the animals we wanted to see, including the Rhino which is very difficult to spot in this kind of period. Be aware that you might not see all the wild animals, as Salehe always says: this is not a zoo, these are wild animals.The business owner Geoffrey is also very helpful and seems to be able to handle any complications. Everything went simple and smooth.Overall: highly recommend Meru slopes! 6-day camping was an amazing experience. Very glad we had this team!

5/5Travelled in a family of four and had a fantastic safari thanks to the people at Meru slope tours and especially our guide Douglas. He immediately impressed us with his hospitality and warmth. He would always smile and wait for us even when we were late in the morning (which was almost every day haha). We were really impressed not only with his knowledge of the countrys wildlife, but also with the fun and engaging way he delivers it. He would always find new interesting stories to tell us and the kids would always bombard him with questions. Finally, he worked tirelessly to show us more animals than we could ever hope to see! He would often spend more time on the road just so we could see a lion or a cheetah, which was really special. Overall, I could not possibly imagine having such a great experience without a guide like Douglas!

We booked our safari with Meru Slopes and they provided us with a fantastic experience. They picked us up at the airport and dropped us back (5 am pick up!) And took us to Kilimanjaro for a day before starting the safari and doing tarangere, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The entire trip was organised very well by Meru Slopes, but the highlight was really all about the staff. Our guide was Asantael who knew these parts of Tanzania inside out and we managed to see all the wildlife we wanted (a rhino, a leopard, around 30 lions and of course elephants, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, etc). And our chef Godfrey prepared delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommend doing a safari with Meru Slopes, and would definitely do it all over again!

He made us discovering the farthest part of parks, meeting wildest animal and thanks to his knowledge and experience we saw the Big Five plus many more animals. Food was varied and fresh. There was always plenty of food and drinks. We were never hungry or thirsty. Meru Slopes will work with any dietary requirements you have.The jeep vehicle had charges for phone and batteries. Car was very comfortable, spacious and well maintained. The tents, mattresses and sleeping bags were clean. All the equipment were perfect.We also want to thank you Geoffrey and Emmanueli for their professionalism and perfect organisation. It started with fast and clear communication regarding the trip and what it entailed. Geofrey always responded in a matter of hours and answered all our questions. They arrange all transfer for us, booked 2 nights in very nice hotel - Venice Arusha and also booked for us bus tickets (all included in safari price). Driver were waiting for us when we arrive in Arusha airport and most importantly in early morning to take us to bus station the day after safari. The Safari was amazing!!! We was in a couple and we did the 5 day safáris. William was our driver, and he was fantastic!!! Very nice and friendly!! He showed us all the big fives and other animals. He asked the animals that we wanted to see and did everything to show us. He explained a lot of things, knows about everything and every animals.The lunch is food not snacks (a very good), a soup, food and fruits. There are soda, water and wine to drink. You can bring some snacks to eat between the meals with you want (I recomend)I verry recommend Meru slope yours and Safari!! Is fantastic!!!!

From a Danish backpacking couple:We went for the budget 3-day Serengeti & Ngorongoro-safari and I have a very hard time imagining how one can possibly make a better budget safari than the one we did with Meru Slopes.When you book a budget-safari, you want the supreme wildlife-viewing with a great 4WD with large windows, a great guide to spot all the animals and an itinerary that gives you the best of Serengeti in a short period of time. You compensate with basic accomodation and perhaps just decent food too. Meru Slopes had all of that and some more: a phenomenal driver/guide (Isaac), the perfect safari-truck and a great itinerary (the sunrise-drive on day 2 was particularly unforgettable). The food was amazing too; we werent really expecting anything special, but our meals were very tasty and our cook even made gluten-free pizza and pancakes for my wife with celiac disease. Back in Arusha they fixed a taxi to the bus station to help us get to Moshi. That was supernice.We would definitely recommend Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris for all of you budget travellers out there. It felt like getting one long, big and nice hug from the whole of Africa :)

Not only are they the most affordable by far but they truly go the extra mile for you.We had a 4 day camping safari as part of our honeymoon and were so glad we decided to go with these guys. Our tour guide Benson was incredible!! Extremely knowledgeable, patient with his guests and incredibly hard working. Its safe to say we wouldnt have had the amazing time we had if it wasnt for him.Our cook Mattias was amazing also. We were a little trepidatious about what sort of food we would have in the middle of the serighetti but the food was incredible!We could not recommended this pair more!!!Our tipping advice: you are expected to tip $10 (US) guide / $5 (US) cook - per day, per guest. Please please please tip, when we found out some of our fellow explores didnt tip we were heart broken for Benson and Mattias.Please use these guys. We cant wait to tour with them again when we next visit (hopefully with our little ones =])

Very good experience with Meru Slopes, the company would always be very attentive to any claim, always trying to offer the best experience, highly recommended the safari in lodges (Hotels) as I did, although it is a little more expensive, worth every penny. We ate very generous and excellent dishes, a true professional cook and passionate about his profession. And besides, always with a smile and a very nice person who listens to very good music.Otherwise, the safari was great, we saw lots of animals, its an incredible memory that I will keep for life. Thanks also to Geoffrey the manager of Meru Slopes who is a very nice person and who always answered us very quickly. On the last day of the safari, the jeep broke down in the middle of the safari but the Meru slopes team managed to help us quickly and we were able to enjoy the end of the safari quietly and return on time for our plane. In short, go for meru slopes I recommend 100%. And for a top-of-the-line safari ask Asante as a guide and Dulla as a cook!

Perfectly!In June 2021, we used the services of Meru Slopes. First, we had a 4-day trek to Mount Meru (Full service, delicious food, private tour, so expect a lot of tips, because there are probably no joined groups. But I would recommend a 3-day trekking, in my opinion the 4th day is just a waste of time and money. - the descent on the last day may take up to 2 hours). The views are beautiful, the height differences are impressive. In terms of landscape, they are supposed to be better than Kilimanjaro.Then we went for a 6-day safaria, where everything was also very well organized (there was even Wifi in the jeep :)). We had everything provided: all camping gear, food, water, beer. However, I personally recommend taking your own sleeping bags when choosing sleeping options in tents (or sleeping bag inserts). Sleeping bags and mattresses are provided but you never know how clean. Guides and staff very nice. Food very good and very large portions. We saw all the big five!On the last day we went to coffee plantations, to a waterfall and to warm springs, where we could taste antelope meat. From all days I recommend this trip the least, but its hard to beat safaria and trekking.Basically Meru Slopes arranged everything for us: pickup from the airport in Kilimanjaro, accommodation in a very nice hotel in Arusha, literally full board and they had a competitive price to other companies (we were concerned it might be a misfire, but everything was very well). I have no objections to the organization, everything is on time. I really recommend!

We were picked up from the airport at night and taken to a hotel in Arusha, the next day the tour started early in the morning.During the 3 days we had a great driver / guide (Jay) and a cook (Odulla) who conjured up great food.It was a unique experience, thanks to Jays experience we could all see big five and much, much more. He told us a lot about life in Tanzania, the people and the animals.After the tour we had another night in the hotel and were brought to the airport the next day.Meru Slopes is highly recommended! We participated in a 6-day safari. It was an unforgettable experience. Our driver Jacob took us to incredible places. We saw lions, cheetahs, a pair of leopards sleeping on the tree next to their prey, countless zebras, wildebeest, elephants and monkeys. Tanzanias national parks are amazing. And our chef surprised us with more than delicious food every single day. I strongly recommend the Meru Sloples team. Any questions or problems arose and were immediately resolved. :)
