My son and I went with a group of about 15 from my college to do an almost 4 week Tanzanian Expedition last December. We started with the Mt K climb, then safari, and then Zanzibar. The mountain terrain was a bit rough, so I was much slower (pole pole) than the rest of my group. Mataro broke off guides Matata and Sheban to be my persona guides. Along with one of the cooks and a porter, I was able to enjoy the experience at my own pace, not having to worry about the rest of the group. My son had his 24th birthday at the top of the mountain. They even made him a birthday cake!Safari drivers/guides Max and Frank were so knowledgeable and fun. So many animals to see, Bushmen and tribes were also visited and opportunity to experience their cultures. Safari was hands down my favorite leg of the expedition.Christmas through New Years eve on Zanzibar gave way to many experiences. Kite boarding, parasailing, boating, jungle exploring, and overall site seeing.Friends of Africa made it great!
