Perfect Safari Experience! My wife and I booked our Safari with Expedition Africa after reading so many excellent reviews. We were not disappointed and thoroughly enjoyed our Safari. Although we could have arranged our Safari through a US based contact we chose to deal directly with Jonson who is in country. The response time to ask questions and decide on our itinerary went smoothly, it was just necessary to plan for a delay due to the time zone difference. We really enjoyed working with Nelson. We stayed at the African Tulip upon arrival in Arusha. This is a wonderful place to stay and the restaurant quality was quite high. We met our guide Philip at the hotel and set off on our Safari. Philip is very personable and highly knowledgeable about the areas we visited. We cant say enough about how much we appreciated his guide skills during our Safari. He was adept at finding and explaining interesting animals and scenery. We saw the Big 5, including some tree climbing lions, and the Great Migration! It really was the trip of a lifetime thanks to Philip and Majaliwa owner Areas we visited included Tarangire, Central Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro crater. We loved staying in the Central Serengeti Bush Camp, it really is glamping at its finest and sleeping amongst the wildlife from a tent is something we will remember forever. If you can get a room/tent at Tarangire Safari Lodge, it is quite a spectacular view and fine accommodations. The Retreat at Ngorongoro was a beautiful property. It has walking trails and a very nice restaurant. The SOPA Lodge on the Crater rim has beautiful views and is also quite nice, although we prefer the rooms at The Retreat at Ngorongoro to the SOPA Lodge. All in all, the entire trip went smoothly and we would highly recommend Expedition Africa

I did the 10-day Rwanda, Kenya and Tanzania tour with Expedition Africa ! and Im happy I did it with them. 10 days doing the gorilla trekking and safaris were more than enough for me and it fit in my schedule perfectly. I could not find any other tours that did all these in as little time. The drivers/guides (I had a different one in each country) were very knowledgeable and helpful. The hotels they made reservations with exceeded my expectations. Communication and organization was very good with the company as well.

Five star tour company - Highly recommended!! I have just recently used Expedition Africa for climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. I was extremely pleased with the whole process right from start to finish the service was five star, in most cases the service was better than what I would receive back home in Canada (and that defiantly says something for the company!). Right from my initial enquiry to the actual climb I received prompt and professional Service, everyone was so obliging to help in every way possible and so friendly, It really gives you a wonderful impression of Africa and the kindness the people Possess. I was so impressed with Expedition Africa Highly recommended as it is hard to find a trustworthy tour company that you are guaranteed wonderful service and my experience is anything to go by, you will have the time of your life.

After doing a lot of research and reading reviews on here we decided to book our holiday through Expedition Africa and Im so glad we did. Quite simply, the best travel company we have ever used, anywhere. The communication throughout was excellent and every single detail was taken care of. Upon arrival at Arusha airport we were met by our driver & Safari guide, Philipo. A warm welcome ensued and he explained our itinerary for the trip. We were driven to Serena Lodge Lake Duluti to rest up after a long flight. We were then met by Majaliwa from Expedition Africa who again went through all of the details, answered our questions and even provided my wife with a personalised birthday cake - a very nice touch. Early the next day we started the drive down to the Serengeti with Richard providing us with a mine of information on the way, pointing out things of interest and stopping at a few interesting places. The two days in Serengeti and one in Ngorongoro crater were everything you would expect. Breathtaking.The lodges were excellent, great food and the packed lunches they provided were first class.We had then independently arranged a week in Zanzibar after the Safari and even though this wasnt booked through Expedition Africa, they still provided transfers to and from the airports, information - everything to make the holiday the best it could be. Every minute detail was covered.I have to be honest, when Philipo dropped us at Arusha airport my wife and I were a bit emotional as he had become such a friend over the 5 days. Such a lovely guy, great company, funny, polite and brilliant at his job - a real credit to the company.If you are considering a safari to Tanzania then Expedition Africa is the only company you should consider. If I could rate them six stars instead of five then I would!

Fantastic Tanzania safari and Zanzibar beach holiday. We have had the holiday of a lifetime. Vivian was so helpful and responsive as we planned the holiday for our group we have just returned we look back and appreciate greatly the advice and organisation that Majaliwa and Neema have done. Our guide Philip was outstanding, knowledgable patient and great fun. We visited Tarangire, Ngorogoro crater, Serengeti, Western corridor, wonderful wildlife and excellent accommodation. There were some lovely touches like the bush dinner on last day and celebration for a holiday . Our 9days safari and beach holiday at Michamvi in Zanzibar was outstanding. I recommend Expedition Africa highly enough.

Better than we imagined!It is overwhelming to choose a company and a location to enjoy a safari. Once we reached out to Expedition Africa all responses were prompt and they provided ample information. We worked through their East Africa agent, meric james. he has traveled with Expedition Africa many times and his suggestions were through his first hand experience on places to stay and what to expect. he will answer any question, and they also send helpful brochures and pamphlets that cover most any inquiry.Once in Tanzania all our contacts and drivers were friendly. The African Tulip in Arusha was a lovely hotel and the staff was attentive and helpful.All these reviews recommend their guide, which one to choose, so we figured all their guides must be exceptional. We are happy to rave about and recommend our personal guide, mbise Engaging, exceptional driving skills while being able to spot animals at the same time, knowledgeable... He must have read our minds as we hoped to enjoy all day every day game viewing and that was his plan. We were sorry to leave Africa and our new friend. Plus you know youre seeing something special when your guide gets his own camera for a few photos!We stayed in Tarangire, Ngorongoro, and Serengeti. Swala camp in Tarangire and Kubukubu in Serengeti were spectacular. Its just more intimate, and to be in tents with wildlife so close is the best. Accommodations at both permanent tented camps were luxurious, comfortable big beds, plenty of hot water, and power 24/7. The best part was the staff, though.We also enjoyed visiting a local village, Ngiresi, a night game drive in Tarangire, bike ride in Mto wa Mbu, and a Ngorongoro rim hike. Susan provided great advice in these activities and took care of the arrangements.Every day was a grand adventure, and we werent ready to say goodbye.

Expedition Africa did excellent with BOTH of these!Planning the itinerary: Nelson was great, providing suggestions and information. They provided a list of hotel suggestions, with clear cost differences, and I was then able to research and pick the ones I wanted. He was very patient with my many questions and needs over many months leading up to our trip. We had a few last minute changes and he was very helpful in getting them done. During the Safari, we had NO issues with hotels or accommodations, food, or anything that caused any stress or concern. SEAMLESS! This takes work and planning - thank you MajaliwaThe Guide: All I can say is WOW. mbise took what would have been a good trip and made it OUTSTANDING!1. mbise could spot wildlife from VERY far away and while driving. There was more than once that a car in front of us drove past something that mbise stopped to show us. You know, like a leopard hanging out in a tree. He remembered what we had seen/not seen and knew what we were interested in seeing - so he knew when to stop, when to keep going, where to take us and what to make sure we saw.2. He was very knowledgeable about everything - educating us on animals, animal behaviors, the parks, the country, politics, the local tribes and culture - you name it. And he was not only patient with our 1000 questions but he encouraged it. We learned so much more than we expected to! He even gave us Swahili lessons!3. We were very into photography and taking pictures. mbise made sure to park in the best place for good lighting and composition. He made recommendations on pictures and how to make adjustments to get the right shot. Thanks to him, we took MANY amazing photos and have many great memories!4. When an animal was on the move, mbise thought through where the animals were heading and got us aligned just right. We were always in the best position for wildlife viewing, even when we were surrounded by other cars. He got as excited as we did when we found awesome things, he really wanted to show off Africa to us and make sure we saw as much as we could. He promised us babies, and he did not disappoint!5. The icing on the cake: mbise is always happy and cheerful, patient and kind, humble and humorous and was a joy to be around for 9 days!The car was great - the top opened and we spent most of our time standing up looking out. When when the dust was high (often) we could close the windows (and/or the top) and not have as much of an issue. We had 4 in the car (plus mbise) and it was perfect.One recommendation: If Expedition Africa offers for you work with a travel agent in your country, decline. The people in Tanzania are much more knowledgeable and can provide better recommendations on your itinerary. Majaliwa GoGo is very responsive.I had to use a different TO for our Rwanda part of the trip and had a lot of issues, causing a lot of stress. Without a doubt, go with Expedition Africa and request Majaliwa Gogo BY NAME!

I have been longing to go to the African continent to see a great migration of animals. What people know more about is going to Kenya to watch the great migration. My cousin told me after going to Kenya to watch the Great Migration in 2017 that Tanzania is a better choice. So at the beginning of the year, I started to check the information to prepare for the trip to Tanzania. After some comparison, I chose this travel agency, and it turns out that I did not choose the wrong travel agency. The owner, Majaliwa, is warm and hospitable. The jeep arranged for us has good performance and can handle the complex terrain on the grassland. The driver Philemon Kissila is honest and reliable and has full experience. He led us to see two great migrations. Thank you very much for their care and help along the way. Let us This trip to Tanzania is so happy. If you are also considering coming to Africa, Expedition Africa is a great choice!
