Great little hotel with small houses in a beautiful garden. The gardener, who planted everything, loves to give tours and tell about every flower and fruit, which is quite interesting 🙂

One of the warmest and friendliest stays that Ive had. I loved the greeting with the warm towel and hibiscus juice. The rooms were clean, the food was delicious and the breakfast with a view was one of my favorite memories. I will continue to visit this hotel as the staff made this one of my best memories. We stayed 3 nights at planet lodge and we loved the staff. They are genuien friendly! Also good and hygienic preparation of food.The room was clean and had everything we needed. At night it was quiteThe only thing they could improve is more choise at breakfast (in my opinion). But other than that our stay was very good and they deserve 5 stars!

Nice lodge with everything you need for a relaxing stay before your safari or kili hike.Staff is very friendly, you are greeted with hot towels and a welcome drink and pool is available too.

A very nice lodge outside of town. The rooms are spacious and they are spread out over the property in bungalows (of two). The landscaping around the property is very nice. Both breakfast and dinner are consistently good. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

A welcome respite after safari. The pool felt great. The yogurt was the best I had in Africa. We loved sitting by the fire pit having a drink in the evening. The room was nice. The gift shop was affordable and had interesting things to purchase. The gardens were nice.

An excellent place to stay when arriving in Arusha. Clean, comfortable, great staff and good cuisine. The best place to start your safari if you arrive in Arusha and cannot reach the parks on the same day and you need a place to rest. A little swimming pool with a bar to relax while planning your safari. Beautiful botanical garden too.

The most impressive part of this hotel is the incredible staff who are extremely attentive and incredibly kind! The beans and mushrooms at breakfast are the best Ive had! I highly recommend staying here for work or a holiday.

Hotel location was great so that you dont have to hit the arusha city traffic to get in and out for your hikes or safari. The hotel staff was helpful and nice. Rooms were big and clean. The food was alright.

A quiet serene place which you can spend as a couple, a family getaway or just weekend relaxation spot. The staff were friendly and kind I remember a Yona near the pool bar he was very caring and very soft spoken. The cottage a mix of African feel and contemporary... I think I just got myself a chilling spot in Arusha only a few minutes away from the bustling city centre.

Stayed two nights during our safari trip. Nice clean place with good dinner. Breakfast very simple.. no information about extra charge for drinks (even water) minus 1 star. Overall nice calm place to stay!

Never happened to me before! At check in as there was no safe in the room,I left money and valuables at reception box obtaining a receipt. At check out when counting the money, I realized that € 200 were missing. All cash was in the same position I had left it, inside my passport wallet but when I counted I found only € 800 of the € 1000 I had left. One of the person at reception was very quick in throwing away the receipt but I asked to see it again and counted all the money again and found out what had happened. All reception staff was smiling but had the impression that more of 1 person was involved in this. Be extremely careful if you leave your valuables in the reception. Also had an ennoying experience with the masseur, I wanted 30 minutes but she did more and then charged me price for 1 hour. For the rest the hotel is very basic but with a pleasant garden and pool. Food is terrible

We stayed at Planet Lodge the night before we left on our safari. It was a nice stopover place where we could relax by the pool and enjoy dinner (buffet style). They were extremely helpful in organizing a guided tour of downtown Arusha at the last minute so we were able to see the city and experience local cuisine, the central market and learn more about Tanzanite. They were extremely helpful and the service was great. Prisca was a wonderful trainee who helped us during our stay with meals, drinks and making sure we knew the basics of Swahili. The rooms are a good size and have nice amenities.

We stayed in a banda with one large comfortable bed. The food was pretty good, presentation was excellent, my T bone steak was a little bit tough but the rack of lamb was perfect . The place was clean and well-managed. Friendly staff.

Truly beautiful grounds and a top-notch, friendly staff who are helping me learn Swahili. Breakfast is included, and its awesome. Love the pool, great place for families or solo travelers. About 15 minute drive from Arusha, so its nice and quiet. I went jogging one afternoon about 2 miles out and back along the road out front. The neighbors, primarily farming families, were very friendly. I stayed here on my own for a week, and felt safe, which is important for solo women travelers. My husband and a friend joined later and they loved Planet Lodge as well. Thanks to everyone here for making me feel Karibu Sana (most welcome).

Good hotel in Arusha. The hotel is outside of the center which is positive, since it looked kind of chaotic. All the rooms are bungalows and there is also a pool. The breakfast was good as it was the dinner. However we considered the dinner a bit expensive and, since the hotel is outside the center we did not venture outside to find an alternative.

Food is some kind of okayish. Food in tented camps is even much better.Most rooms are next to the African massage street, therefore very loud, also during night when a vehicle is passing.I would not recommend to stay here.6th Dec 2019:Answer of hotel shows that they dont care. We were not travelling in a group and during my stay they saw my post here. I was approached during breakfast and they explained to me, that its usual that you get the worst room, if you stay for one night only. We always do it this way. - really sad ...

Greeted with juice and cookies upon arrival. Staff showed us around the room and explained how to work the air conditioning, water heater etc upon check in. Staff helped us get a taxi to go to dinner in Arusha. Beds were comfortable. Air conditioning worked really well. Turn down service included a small piece of chocolate. Free wifi, but only works in the restaurant. There is a pool, but we did not use it.Breakfast was free and by far the most impressive of our entire Tanzania visit. Included fruit, yogurt, cereal, sausage, bacon, omelette station, pancakes, toast, coffee/tea.Wish the rooms had a safe, but that is my only complaint.

It is one of the biggest Lodge in Arusa. Arrengemt here is very good as far as food and lodging is concrened. For those who love natureal environment it is an Ideal place for them. So many beautiful birds are seen here within the boundary all over the day.The behaviour of hotel staff are fiduciary and always cooperative. Undoutedly it is an ideal place for tourust in Tanzania

This is a really good lodge in Arusha, its out of town, in a quite place. The garden is big, full of trees and flowers with a nice pool where you can swim. There is a bar at the pool and another one in the main area, tables and chairs indoor and outdoors. Staff is friendly and efficient, food is tasty. I strongly recommend Planet Lodge for your stay in Arusha.

Stayed here for about a week while visiting the Nelson Mandela University and loved it! The staff are very helpful and attentive... they have a free shuttle to and from downtown Arusha which came very handy considering the Lodge is a couple of miles from Arusha town center. The food variety was good and I loved hanging out by the pool and watching Mt Meruu from my balcony.Great value for sure!

The stuff is very frendly, the rooms are perfect, wifi works perfect, food is really good, the kitchen is very clean and tidy (unlike most hotel kitchens). Excellent.

Great place to start and end safaris. All the comforts (incl. pool) of a nice hotel. Quiet, lush, friendly staff, good food and drink.

The bad:poor room design. Hot shower needs pre heating, we didnt have hot shower.The good: good food. Good gardening.

Rooms are spacefull and clean. Food is good but no whaouh effect outside as the hotel location is in the city closed to a noisy road.

My 17 year old daughter recently stayed as a guest for two nights and 3 days at Planet Lodge. She had a fantastic experience, the staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, and Esther watched over our daughter as if she were her own. We were a bit nervous because she traveled from Washington, D.C. to JRO on her own and had to spend 3 days by herself before meeting up with her community service program on June 14, 2014. Everyone at Planet Lodge was fabulous - from the driver Planet Lodge arranged to pick up our daughter at JRO, to the front desk staff and the restaurant staff. Our daughter ate all her meals at Planet Lodge and pronounced them delicious (and shes a picky 17 year old eater). We couldnt have made a better choice. Our daughter loved her room and the beautiful grounds of the lodge. We encourage anyone considering Planet Lodge to stay there.
