I recommend Upendo Tours and Safaris 200%!A special thanks to our guide Hamdu.We booked our transfer from the airport to the hotel with Upendo Tours and, because we traveled during the epidemic, we had a miscommunication with our resort and we found out that it was closed when we arrived.Our guide, Hamdu, helped us to find another accommodation. He called everyone he knew and he didnt leave us until make sure we were comfortably accommodated.We decided to make all the tours we planned with him and we didnt regret!He went the extra mile to make our experience unforgettable!We visited the Jozani Forest where we could see the red colobus monkeys (only found in Zanzibar) and the beautiful mangrove forest.We also visited the prison island, home for the giant turtles followed by a walking tour in Stone Town.Hamdu knowledge about the history of Tanzania is fascinating and it was a very educational tour.My favourite tour was at the sandbank. They picked us up at our hotel early in the morning and transferred us by boat to this unique sandbank where we spent time relaxing and snorkeling. After that, the captain cooked for us and we enjoyed a fresh seafood lunch before head back to the hotel.Due to the epidemic, I understand that most of the people are afraid to travel but Tanzania was declared safe from the virus and I guarantee that we felt safe during the whole trip. The best of it is that we had the whole island and resorts exclusively for ourselves during the whole time!This was very unique because usually the island is crowded so I truly believe this is the best time to travel.I couldnt imagine a better way to social distancing.
